When hunting with enhancers do they have a decay cost thats gets factored into your total kill cost 'input' - or - is it only the ammo burn they increase that gets factored in?

Obviously the high MU of these items has to be factored in to your total hunting costs and makes them, at least on a surface level seem a very uneco choice but hypothetically if there was no MU on an enhancer is the only cost involved in their use the ammo burn they add?

As stated by MA back in 2017:

The loot system never accounts for markup. Not on markup spent on things like enhancers or limited weapons, nor on markup gained from loot such as oils, items and ESI etc, markup values are just transactions between players.

Since the Enhancer VU back in last November, when your enhancer breaks, you get the tt of it back as shrapnel. Therefore, the only cost truly incurred is the markup of the enhancer. Next time one of them breaks, read the system message, it says so right there.

So you would say outside of the ammo burn (&MU) there is zero cost associated with using Damage Enhancers?

The added ammo burn is compensated for in the loot of the mob (part of loot calculation).

The markup is the only cost 'incurred'.

Extra decay per slot with enhancers equiped on the weapon also.

Each enhanced slot gives extra 10% base dps (of the weapon) with 10% extra cost ()10% extra decay and, where applicable, 10% extra ammo). On efficient guns with less efficient amps, it will increase the setup's efficiency slightly. Their benefit should be evaluated in each case so you will have to decide if they are good for your situation or not.
