In game skill calc

Why isn`t there a ingame option to see your total amount of skills ? Or a way to calc the skills ingame ?
I just can`t understand the reason why MA didn`t add that.

When this comes up i usually chime in to request a feed from MA for an avatar's items and skills, as well as auction history and globals. All of these would be positive additions to the game that would simplify the creation of 3rd-party tools and make them less clunky.

The addition of a market value tab for items in game was nice except that in typical MA fashion they didn't take it far enough and add some of the controls that peauction.com has to reduce the ability to manipulate the market. Making the same data available for all to use would create an environment for alternative tools that could each use a different approach to provide multiple sources for comparison. In other words, it would make the "RCE" much more like a real market economy, with independent analysis of trends, etc.
