Why Do we get so mad about the loot?(i mean hey this game to me is another utility bill lol)

Could it Be Something MA could just be Researching?(well i hear alot of people mad about the loot but when i got an understanding of the economy it kinda opend up the idea that things can be good or bad Like RL)

When you started playing this did you think the loot would always be good or
did u see this coming? (thats a question for the veterans)

for four years, my loot has been what some would classify as 'bad.' :wise: While I may say my returns through the years has been an awful joke, shit-tastic, horrible, unbelievably ridiculous and many other negatively descriptive things .. I never really get mad.

for four years, I keep coming back because I think it's fun and I get my money out of it. I get what I pay for : entertainment. But, as opposed to those subscription games- when we are bored and so broke it isn't funny ... we can still log on and drive around in our car / boat / planes - talk to society - go on tp run's, etc.

I take it for what it's worth .. my virtual entertainment. ;)

I highly agree with this.. i like to say that in my three months playing ive enjoyed every second of my playing time on EU. i just hit Hof on a Exa Old 2.5k ped worth of loot and still did my weekly deposit. it just is kinda discouraging to see so many upset about not geting back what u put it, i would love for things to get better but me myself who just came from playing fallout 3 to the end... i like EU to much to complain except for when i cant play it due to some upgrade and my ped is just sitting stacked waiting for the time to play again lol...and plus the opallo saves alot of ped people ( i mean i gota COld Ir, GDC-97, Marber Bravo, K-Determination, and some other mean Stuff lol that i can use)lol imagine doing a 20 man hunt with nothing but opalos lol...we should try it and see if we all do good with only 20 ped ammo lol

Only real time I got "mad" was when vu 10 hit... and taming went away, leaving me holding a UL whip, and my booth stopped working for a quarter of a year because someone at MA decided that it might be a good idea to not activate booths as a priority... putting stuff in the estate would let anyone pick it up. What was also bad about that and got me mad was FPC sort of hinted at an "upgrade" that would be coming to booths for when they would be fixed... which really turned out to be a request for more cash... Taming's still not back, but I am using the whip a little more now since the tier system got fixed so that the second item isn't going to be lost...

Because it's money at stake, and people don't like their money being taken from them. And people believe that it costs too much to play the game.

In reality, you need quite a bit of money on hand to play at the levels a lot of people would like to play at, and it can't really be done successfully when you're playing one 500 ped deposit at a time. If that's your monthly budget, and before the end of the month you have 0 ped, you're playing too big. Instead, when you start out with 500 ped, it should take you the whole month to cycle that 500 ped one time. You could expect at least to have 400 ped of tt value returned. Next month comes around, deposit another 500 ped. Now you have 900 ped to play with, plus whatever markup you got from your first cycle. Spend the next month working through that 900 on one cycle and you could expect AT LEAST 700 back, plus your additional markup. Deposit the next month, now you have 1200 to spend. You see where this is going?

If people wouldn't be in such a huge rush to hunt big mobs, they might be able to actually keep some ped on hand so that they would have a nice cushion for when they do hunt big mobs. But a lot of people that play this game know nothing of saving, budgeting, and basic fiscal responsibility and would prefer to spend everything they have shooting for that ATH.
 
The problem is, in EU you don't have a fixed or even variable % chance of getting loot.

It's a lottery. Meaning, Mindark forces so many players to spend X amount of money before they'll give even a fraction of it back.

For me, the perfect example is these newbie caps you can get from the Swamp Camp mission. When you get it, it's unwearable. You have to repair it to even wear it. And then when you actually put on or take off the darn thing, it degrades by a large amount.

That crappy hat is like the perfect analogy for EU and Mindark's business philosophy.

I see that you are a newbie with a great lucky (HOF exa 2.6k). GRATZ!

This game can be played as common games now. You can use rookies tools and just play without complications. Or, you can play great and lose a lot too. In the last case, people is worried about loot and its return rate (this is very understandable). However, sometimes people like you, that only play a litle and his first good loot is an uberloot. (You have really very lucky). What do you think people think about that? sometimes is very easy just to play, because lootius is with you. But if not, What do you think?

People are concerned about loot, because you can play this game in a way, losing 1000s of Dollars in a month. And actually people do. That's why people are concerned about it

Because the loot directly influences the cost-to-play-fun ratio. Bad loot = a more expensive game, without additional entertainment value.

I expected loot to be decent enough, so that I could continue to play on a monthly deposit of about 10 USD. Turned out to be extremely wrong.

Well i geuss You Can Say i play a little LOL(not sure how YOU would Know,lol maybe its the noob ranking on my Forum profile or something LoL), im on all the time, since ive started actaully the name Ty SyILLz Williams if im on your FL YOU Would see that im in EU alot probably shouldnt be but i am...its funny what u say about the "uber Loot" on that same day i hit that HoF some one looted a Daikiba Mature for 1k, but maybe they only play but everynow and than lol....when i say just play i mean... i like games like GTA(grand theft auto) Saints Row 1 & 2, Morrowind, oblivion, fallout 3 and vegas, Mass effect, Call of Duty (I have most of them) Mercinaries 1 & 2, If anybody knows these games (except Call of duty)they all have one thing in common " Freedom " even games like World of warcraft has an objective.. EU offers Freedom to a whole new level of play, ive givin away Cars, Guns, Ammo, just because( and ahh Xaiver this is before my "uber HoF"...) Then the Vet player Vs The Noob Player how do we expect loot to get bigger with no new players, what i see is the Vets stickin around being the superstars while the noobs realize its BS and finish playin warcraft for the month...shit if i wasnt interested in the EU i wouldnt be here Because that Sweating Shit( i pitty the Foo who really sweated out a K for there first weapon but i respect them above all) Is for the birds... and all i see is a 3d Stockmarket,.. all im saying is that when i first deposited I was on RT and a well known player told me not to deposit if i didnt know to much about the game, i deposited and happy i did and do...So when i say just play i mean dont pull the trigger tryin to get back whatever you put in or whatever your huntin mining drive may be, Pull the Trigger cuz ur having fun...all that HoF did was give me back some of what i put in to it, so when u ask me how do i think others think about that? i say, hey tell who you know, who knows who they kno and tell them to tell whoever they know who knows about the Loot system i says Thank You. This Game is not a "gamer" game in my eye, but one thing i can say is that ima Gamer, A Gamer in a Cash Game Economy(which to me IS AWSOME but thats bcuz i like money lol Spending and Gaining), With real cool people that i dont wanna see buggin about something that cant be fixd unless an action we cant control happens. this is a social game but there are people that know this Universe has serious potential....But in my opinion it would not keep the attention of ur "Average Game player" its too Costly, luckily im the type that likes to have shit so i always get the new "toys" but for your average PS3 or 360 player In which to me i would think is the bulk of consumers targeted to how do i say be "Cattle"(Just kiddin lol)EU would not keep their attention, unless it was suiting the gamer needs, so for us that play EU get over the Loss or help EU gain For Loot Sake lol, i do not mean any disrespect so i do apoligize Now if i offended anyone.. get back to me sometime i can ramble on for days...

1. Is it wrong just to play ? no ...
2. Is it wrong to charge a couple k$ per month just to play ? yes ...

Problem is control in this picture

1. you are in control
2. you are not in control but they like to make you believe you are (partially true)

It is the equation of both which will give you your answer + your personal budget & goals.

but On A Good Note Maybe MA is Paying For the Better & Future Game Play...

I always expected ups and downs. But the downs now last way longer and the ups are`nt as often or as much for me. The longer I play it seems the worse my loot gets and the less my skills matter. It would`nt be frustrating if it seemed to make more sense. But I always see stuff coming. The key would be to see exactly what and be able to capitalize on it like I have once or twice in the past.
 
well now im not in this realm for big money, no i cant depo alot and do when i can, but what really got me a lil discouraged was having 20ped ammo and getting no loot, no loot consecuatively until i ran out of ammo, i would have expected to at least come back with oh idk 5ped return??? not 0.00 .

so now im broke (oh QQ and get over it :silly2:) and am back to sweating . hel theres not even much of a return there cuz all the noobs wanna sell fast for real cheap for very little ped, living broke day to day (in realm reality reference, roleplay).

Now that that is out of the way, I play EU because of the player base... it DOES seem to be a much more mature audience than other MMOs. The reason this game doesn't attract your average gamer is because it is not your average game. People begin playing thinking they can make money... this is true, but not how they picture it. It takes tons of work, patience, and knowledge to reach the point of profit. I have made some great friends in EU and do not see myself leaving them for a long time.

Basically the way I see it, if i want something, I will buy it... if I lose, I will win again. I mean... you can't lose all the time!...... can you? :scratch2:

But yes, you have the right idea, the game is what YOU make of it. People are gonna bitch about their money (I still do when im down :D), but with smart planning/playing you can make the game easier to play cheaper.

i been playing alot better, i would like to get into event setting and more socializing lol i log on and start pew pew pew pew lol... i think at the time i started the thread i was readin alot of angry things here..but i have such a better understanding then i did and im gettin more into tryin to keep players here..( like most of us ) but ive only been playin since August and i been wondering where exactly this game stands and where i stand in it.. i bought my second place or im paying for it anyways, its great to finally see someone trust me here, its really cool.. and i dont plan on BS'in this individual either.. but i would like to make this place a spot where we could discuss forum stuff INGame..What Would Others think about that or is that old news lol let me know..
 
Loot is ok for me, the only crap for me is (L) items markup which is high, for my level, thats really what takes my peds away. Like i need new faps and guns. I never blamed loot, exept very few times.
 
Bad loot? its just horrible noobs getting uber 10k oil last week e noob 6k feffoid and today again a 12k feffoid while people who play 7 years like me spend 40k usd in this game and no hof in hunting higher then 1200 ped.
Sometimes im thinking MA is scamming me, well they are but what if those newbie avatars with all the uber hofs is MA staff?.
Im getting ripped of my money my last 25 runs always around 500 ped ammo with good eco were all losses.
When i go to casino i have more chanche of walking away with a profit.
How the fuck can a guys first loot be 10k ped?
I have sold out a few times just because of this shit and it wont take long before im selling out again.

I say FUCK this game if Marco would be living next to me he would have a really hard life.

To answer those that complain it costs too much, in very simple terms;
1) Cost is averaged out per hours of use, play less spend less
2) Do dumb shit, you WILL spend more money (see drive a Pruis or drive a 59 Caddy, which uses more gas?)
3) It is in no way shape of form a lottery... the recent 2k hof I got was just a simple 'catch up' for the loot I'd missed out on for being away for so long..re-read #1...

I haven't fully figured out how the loot system works as far as timing goes, but, I do know that time is a major factor in your loot distribution... how much you play, how much you spend...

When I first started playing two years ago I thought I was going to get rich. After relizing that was not going to happen(serously 1year playing before my first global) I decided to just enjoy the game and forget about making money or tracking my returns. I play at a level that I am comfortable paying for, wich is breer p5a and gremlin most of the time, with one or two hunts a week closer to my actual lvl.
I have had good loot and bad loot, if I`m not going to brag about every good run then I`m not going to complaine about every bad one.
Bottom line, be a pessimist, expect to get a 0% return and budget accordingly, everything above 0% becomes a plesent surprise.

$40,000 USD, Reallly? You have spent and lost that much money in a game? 1200 PED was your highest loot? Tracker says 9,709 PED.

So how much of this 40K USD was spent on equipment and other stuff that you know have as an asset?

Which, according to Tracker is right: in hunting, an atrox at 1148 PED. The one you quote is in mining.

The problem with the "old-school" players is that we have actually seen other kinds of loot.
Sure we moaned a bit back in the old days, but generally loot was more predictable and better.
It was more predictable because before Mindark changed the loot system you could see typical loot in a mob.
for example a molisk young would have a typical loot of around 78-85 pec. So if you could shoot it below this typical loot (which was perfectly possible with an opalo/a105 or an unfixed axe 1x0), then you could profit. (Note: without the need for a global). Also a global would have real loot like a real gun or a real harness or tool that you could actually repair.
Now you would think Mindark would be quick to change this, but they didn't , I have at least hunted for around a year with the "unfixed" axe 1x0 and also at least a year with an opalo/a105. Maybe it didn't hurt them as much as we all say it did.

Now I have an unlimited bikak kek, which is quite good and my deposit almost lasts a month, but it simply costs more per swing, so I spend more and get less back. And if I get something back it's oils, oils and oils and tt [L] crap.

Could well be, but an L-weapon or armour is not something you actually own, you can use it until it breaks, and then it;s gone forever. The feeling is different. If I loot some L-item, I am quickly putting it on auction. Almost never do I even consider hanging on to it or using it.
Conclusion: a global now, does not compare to a global 5 years ago.

I guess old school players should move to a new planet (that compares to calypso) whenever there is one available to get this old feeling back.
