I fellt the same way. Lanksia ran me there many moons ago. I read the story, read the plaque, read the info on the internet site, imdb, etc.

All the more reason I admire ND and what he stands for.

As much as i appricaite the fact that i see Island Girl's name pop up in forum i dont like some reactions on it. We all live our lives differently and keeping the person you lost close to you in anyway you would like that to be, cant be judged by anyone. The person not understanding doesnt have the life's experience to understand or luckily didnt have to loose a friend/dad/sister/wife daughter. so that i react to that is in a way useless because it cant be learned that can only grow with life progressing.

Just visited the memorial. Very beautiful, very sad.

I went to Memorial Island today and it was a very nice place, peaceful and calm. I read the signature and I saw the statue.

I think Neverdie chose a perfect place for a memorial for his gamerchick or THE gamerchick. It's sweet, nice and it gave me a sense that it was genuinly made for the simple fact of remembering a well known and loved player in the community.

As Skam have mentioned, this place remains as a memorial for future PE players who will depart from both Calypso and our world.

This place shouldn't be seen as a negative way, it is just a place where we can bury the memories of those whom we known. A place of rememberance and honor, a place away from all nearby cities, secluded in it's own land. One day, we will all end up in that island, with our names carved in a piece of stone.

Let us not disrespect those who no longer lay in our worlds, but rather rest in peace in another.

Some of the responses in this thread and the other one....

I have never known Island Girl, nor have I ever even spoken with Neverdie. I didn't even know about any of it, until I came across memorial island in my noob tp-running days. That's when I first read the story. I still go there from time to time and thinking about it makes me very sad. Reading some of the responses makes me very mad though. Try thinking about how Neverdie himself must feel about all of it. Respect to MindArk for putting it there (and I'm also happy to hear that it's not "exclusive" to her either). MI is a beautiful place.

As I said, I have never even spoken with Neverdie, but I know several people who know him, and from what I hear, he's a swell guy. I have nothing but respect for him in multiple ways. I might not be a CND fan, but I have respect for his effort. I have even more respect for the way he has handled this all. If I try putting myself in his shoes I don't think I would actually be able to come back to PE and do the things he does - respect!

Again, *try* putting yourself in his shoes. Would you abuse or unhonorably use the Island Girl avatar? I don't think any decent person would answer yes to that question. I don't believe for a second that Neverdie would do this either. He'll have his reasons, be it personal, be it keeping the avatar alive, be it reminding the inhabitants of PE what once was.

Some people here need to learn some respect, for those who have passed and those they have left behind.

I agree with the thread being locked... if it's just going to turn into a test of others greed then it's almost offensive to the memory of island girl (at least i think so).....

Also, i think the tests are stupid. I mean, who wouldnt pick up money if they saw it lying on the ground? (in game)... doesnt matter where you drop it...
