Does EU use XP ? YES
Does EU use Levels ? YES

Level =((insert math function here),XP))

Basically what the spirals used to do was form a straight line every x^2 number with each point acting as a level, each point of XP needed to get to the next level wrapped around the previous spiral.

Something like this

Level 1 = 0 xp
Level 2 = 01xp
Level 3 = 10xp
Level 4 = 27xp

But it really does not matter now, lost interest.
