Info: Microphone doesn't work with the latest VU. *Fix inside!!!*

After installing the latest VU today a number of us noticed that our microphones no longer worked. Apparently the latest VU mutes your microphone. You will need to go into your microphone settings to unmute your microphone.

  • For Windows 7
  • On your task bar, right click on your speaker icon and select 'Recording Devices'.
  • Select the 'Recording' tab.
  • Right-click on your microphone that you use and select 'Properties'.
  • Highlight the 'Levels' tab and uncheck the 'speaker' box if it's muted.

That should fix it!
 
Thanks Mo.. My mic was muted, and that fix worked. Yay :)

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that this Game we play can actually Change your Operating System's Settings .....

tonight the game was totally silent for me :'(
i also have seven, and it the volume level was set to zero by the patch, fixed thanks to this info here

lol it seems that every version has bugs, is 2013 really a bad year for the editor??? whay can't they stabilize the game? its becoming a bit annoying to have more and more problems at evry week

Yea. Messing with people's Window's settings is complete BS!!!
 
thats sort of marketing, to let us buy the ingame voice chat feature....^^
 
and i was thinking first mumble/skype fucked up... lol

for me easy fix was just to remove the red bar from "toggle mute mic" that shit also change in windows...

While I appreciate your help, it still means we have to change it every friggin' time we log in. Anything that changes my Windows settings shouldn't have happened in the first place. To me this is unacceptable.

MA FIX IT PLEASE!
 
I often use Skype while playing, but after logging into EU, the mic settings in Skype gets changed automatically to the wrong input source :((
