* MU roughly calculated with the help of entropiabay's inventory calculator, a great tool for logging mining runs,

A very skilled miner once told me, that in order to start mining with 103 (105 amps now), you need at least 10k ped as a minimum budget. He him self had 20k budget, till he got an ATH, profited, chipped out and now lives happily ever after.

That's what I'm aiming for... 10k ped budget for now. If I go 10k ped in minus, then someone will have to give me a good reason to continue playing this game, haha.

what's in your opinion minimum budget for 103amp mining?

buy cheap MU amps, not depending on lvl of amp.
you can calculate your minimum budget from efficiency to stay on safe side
just an example
efficiency 1 = 1k minimum budget (this is plain unamped ore mining btw)
efficiency 10 = 10k minimum budget

so with oa103 (if thats LVL3 amp yes? efficiency 5) you should go with 5-6k minimum budget

(call it "minimum run length" to see better numbers in the long run

)

also some areas have its own efficiency like FOMA, careful when mining such since the efficiency numbers multiply together

it is not just about budget, i noticed that your average markup is not that high, if you are paying say 110% for your 105 amps then you would need to have a average markup of 120% if your average TT return is 90%, over the long run, to break even. If you dont pay markup on amps then your average markup does not need to be that high. The minimum budget is to achieve this 90% average TT return, or as close as you can get, markup spent vs markup gained is where the "magic" happens.

The thing is, I am already doing that. Going through 115%-125% MU ore spots with each run, yet I can't control the amount of shit ores I get, like lanorium, azzurdite, gold & yes... Zinc (thanks zhagol & esoul), they're everywhere. Not to mention the dry period, in which no matter where I go, no matter how careful I drop bombs, I still get NRF and can go through up to 70 drops with NRF.

if you use something worser in depth than F105 (like F103 is my favorite) you should miss gold and azz.. sometimes even TT finder works like a charm

Did a different approach to mining today. Even without globals I did profit, and my hitrate increased by 20% by doing so. Might be only luck? Or this new technique really does improve my returns? We'll see in another 5-10 runs.

I could answer that.....
cause range is worthless unless you plan on to use a lvl 11/12/13 and have nearly all range enhancers past tier 6

other then that your wasting your ped in my opinion

Yes, but mining with 11/12/13 amps with range enhancers is pure profit.
