I invested in a A106 amp over the summer. MA changed the rules in the last VU. I did some math to find a good, inexpensive, weapon for the A106 amp based on the new rules. Enjoy :)

Equation:

total efficiency = (gun efficiency * max gun dmg) + (amp efficiency * amp dmg)

Results:

weapon --- efficiency
justifer mk1 --- 4.27
ep-40 --- 4.26
M2870 --- 4.25
True Faith --- 4.25
justifier mk2 --- 4.25

The mk1 won because it is a perfect match for the A106. mk1 = 36 dmg, A106 = 18 dmg (amp does 50% of weapon damage).

Big ugly table with all the calculations (tab delimited for all you excel users)

weapon dmg efficiency dmg*efficiency amp dmg eff dmg*eff (total dmg*efficiency / total dmg) total dmg / sec.
mk1 36 4.11 147.96 A106 18 4.61 82.98 4.27 36
ep-40 41 4.12 168.92 A106 18 4.61 82.98 4.26 54.1
M2870 36 4.08 146.88 A106 18 4.61 82.98 4.25 45
True Faith 36 4.08 146.88 A106 18 4.61 82.98 4.25 45.9
mk2 43 4.11 176.73 A106 18 4.61 82.98 4.25 40.7

Don't use that calculation, use pe-wiki.

Ep-40 + a106 has 4.26
Jmk1 + A106 has 4.22

Efficiency = (Max damage of weapon + amp)/(total cost to fire, ammo+decay)
Nothing else makes sense in general.

For best results, use
( [Min + Max] damage /2)/(total cost to fire, ammo+decay)

for weapons you have not maxed out for the most accurate results.

ah, ok. HG still wins then, thanks.

I think he meant to prove that the most economical weapon to use with a106 was a rifle, (= rifle wins !!!...maybe some people thought it was handguns winning before)... but that after replies to his post, handguns still win after all (hence he was wrong)... makes sense ?

Forgive my lack of math skills on this matter, and I dont know the stats either but I would say that with a 0.0X something difference in ratings it depends on your way of going about hunting. After all the handgun doesnt have the range that the rifle have (again I dont know the stats of the handgun so I could be wrong). So with that small of a distance have you also figured out the added damage you can do while the mob runs towards you meaning the mob will hit you less wich means lesser decay on armour and less fapping? If you use a close range handgun with 0.0X better economy could it possibly be a "worse" option since mob is able to hit you longer thereby causing more decay on armour and fap(s) meaning the most economical "overall" choise would be the rifle?

Could someone look at "total" cost of the kill including armour decay fap decay since that is definatly a factor in hunting. Would be interesting to know.

Yes, but HG's usually have a much faster reload so in many cases you will kill the mob faster than with a carbine.
