This is possibly the most annoying thing ever. I decided to come back to EU to check out the new engine and instead I get hit with client problems, updating problems, downloading problems and a bunch of other problems. Now im trying to update from 8.0 to 8.1 but I keep getting the "not enough space" error. I installed EU to the C drive and thats the only drive I have and it has over 150gb free. I've reinstalled (FOUR TIMES NOW) and I keep getting the same error. Help please?

I read what you've said as that you havent been ingame since VU10 was introduced.

If so, I think I'd really have to suggest deleting your whole Entropia Universe folder (or moving it off your harddrive and onto a DVD if you want to keep a copy).

Then do an install from scratch from the EU website.

Yup. I left around V9. Also, I've done that and I still have the same problems. This is a completely new computer, there is no trace of EU at all. Right now I tried skipping that update and went to 8.1 and let it update to 8.2. then I tried using the self-repair option. Seems like it's updating the missing files? It was 4GB of stuff. :dunno:

Hi

Don't skip patches; but try install them manually may help.

1: Get a good(none corrupt full version) using a good downloader; don't use your browser;

Latest Full Installation File Version 10.8.0(3.1GB) - 2010/02/18:

entropia_universe_10.8.0.42477_setup.exe

2: Download these patches to Entropia foder(where you see version.txt)

Update_10.8.0.42477-10.8.1.42850.exe - 12.3 MB
Update_10.8.1.42850-10.8.2.43641.exe - 14.0 MB <--- Latest Patch VU 10.8.2 -- 2010/03/08

When downloading a big file you should use a good download program; don't use your browser(I know it has a resume feature but not good enough)

Here the program I use when a file is big: WGET

1: get wget. download two zip files below and unzip them.

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin32/wget-1.11.4-1-bin.zip
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin32/wget-1.11.4-1-dep.zip

2: copy files in wget-1.11.4-1-dep\bin TO wget-1.11.4-1-bin\bin

3: copy the command line below to a Notepad and save it as a batch file to get-1.11.4-1-bin\bin

wget.exe --tries=88 --waitretry=180 --continue --read-timeout=44 http://dlmirror.entropiauniverse.com/entropia_universe_10.8.0/entropia_universe_10.8.0.42477_setup.exe

for download from a proxy:
Add the proxy setting and change proxy.testing.com.au:80 to your proxy name and port like this

set http_proxy=proxy.testing.com.au:80
wget.exe --tries=88 --waitretry=180 --continue --read-timeout=44 http://dlmirror.entropiauniverse.com/entropia_universe_10.8.0/entropia_universe_10.8.0.42477_setup.exe

Do I have to do a clean install or?

GOOD NEWS!
Looks like skipping the update and then using the repair button fixed the problem! (Really wish I thought of this before spending nearly a day trying to get this to work. :() Hopefully nothing will backfire on me :s Looks like I'll be starting from scratch though, I barely remember anything.
