THE COMPETITION
I have now been playing Entropia for almost 18 months. The game is fun in itself but what really makes it special for me is the continual flow of innovative and creative ideas from the players themselves.
There always seems to be some new event, or project, or great example of creativity from the players.
It is these things that give the game the real buzz and make it most enjoyable for me.
To encourage this innovation and effort from the players I am offering 1000 ped in prizes to reward those players that come up with the best ideas and contributions to Entropia.
These can be anything that bring something new to the game.
These might include events like the World of Firepower, or great videos like Rockstar or Perfect Day, JamHot TV, or music or art creations, research like Shackleton's mining project, or new investment or trading ideas...
THE PRIZES
There will be a first prize of 750peds.
Depending on the quantity and quality of the entries there will be one or two runners up prizes of 125peds.
HOW TO ENTER
Entries must be posted in this thread.
Entries should consist of up to 3 screen shots, or embedded YouTube videos, and up to 300 words detailing your project.
Each entry should carry a subject line such as 'ENTRY : Name of Project'.
The entries should include the full ingame names of the avatar(s) representing the project.
Entries should ideally be made by the 'owners' of the project - but if they are not able to post directly themselves (for language or other reasons) they can have another player post for them as long as the entry clearly states who the actual project owners are.
Others players are welcome to make additional postings in support of their favourite projects - but I would not want any negative comment or discussion about entries in this thread.
JUDGING
The judging will be done by me!
Depending on the strength of the entries I will either award the prize(s) straightaway, or I will announce a shortlist.
If there is a shortlist I will conduct ingame interviews to learn more about the entrants and their projects.
The criteria I will be using for judging the entries will include creativity, originality, player participation, contribution to the knowledge pool, technical skill, excitement, fun...
RULES
1. The closing date will be 31 January 2008.
2. If there is a shortlist that will be announced by 28 December. Interviews will then be conducted in the following 10 days. The winner(s) will then be announced by the third week of 2008. If there is no shortlisting the winners will be announced by 31 December.
3. Any player can enter or be involved in up to three entries.
4. Entries must be for activities that are current and happening during the course of the competition period (ie they can't be for events or activities that have already finished, or are yet to happen).
5. Entries must be submitted in English according to the rules of the forum. There is a possibility that ingame interviews with shortlisted players may be conducted in Spanish as well as English.
6. Entries can be edited up to the closing date.
7. I reserve the right to extend the closing date if there has been insufficient quantity or calibre of entries.
NOTE : This will be an experiment. If it goes well I intend to make this a monthly competition. Any constructive feedback on the running of the competition is welcome.
Good luck to all
