I lost around 8000 peds playing this game in just 5 months.:( I wonder where do ppl gets money to play this game or its the black money which got dumped into this game.:rolleyes:

You should only play with how much you are comfortable losing.
 
It all depends how you play m8 , we all lose peds.. some ppl get what we lose and are called Uber HOFs and ATH :D

I still wait for mine ... :(

8k is a lot of money and sorry to hear ... were you Crafting? :confused:

When it comes to RL economy vs deposited money, it's very different
from player to player.
One who depo and lose 1k ped can be extremly annoyed over the large
sum they lost, while another can depo and lose 200k and doesn't even care,
it's nothing of what they have as RL fortune.
(I'm way closer to example one, that's for sure. :D )
So, from where do the money come? Rich parents, salaries, lottery or what
ever, there are many alternatives... (mine comes from salary, since my
luck
in lottery is like my "luck" in EU. :D :))

And I agree with 11B, don't spend anything you can't afford to lose.
EU should be like any other entertainment, and who cares if they lose
"RL money equivalent to 1.5k PED" on a night out partying? ;)
 
Go out to the bar for a few hours, go bowling, , tell me how much you spent. Do that every weekend, tell me how much after 5 months...


1 weekend out = $100

1 month = $400

5 months = 2k

20,000 ped

The difference is that throwing money into the sea isn't quite as fun as playing Entropia. Nor do you have the possibility to make money when throwing it into the sea. :wise:

I was here to play a nice mmorpg, not to gamble with my money in an online casino so called Entropia universe.
 
Not to sound like the official advertisement video from way back, but if you play smart (which is quite tedious :laugh:) you can actually make money. If you on the other hand play for cheap thrills you can easily lose 8k peds. I've lost my fair share and almost been ashamed over throwing in so much money into a game, but I have had a lot of fun as well and probably even more so than if I decided to spend the same amount on booze (I would probably get really, really sick if I did that though). I've made most of my money back in the end, but that's a completely different story.

8k peds is only $800 though and if you divide that by five months you're down to a sum of $160. I could easily spend that amount if I went to a pub two times in one month.

I have to agree with the other replies, spend only what you can afford to lose.

EDIT: Damn, Dion got to my main point before I managed to post my reply. Sorry for copying. ;)

PS. If it makes you feel better, in around 5 days time from now, I would have fed a little over 10k ped through the lifescanner in the hope to hit 6k in scan mutant skill. Almost at 4k ped fed through and at 2.7k scan mutant :D (it does come back, MA only takes a % on all decay spent, search is your friend, so do some reading up on it on these forums)

Not to mention you have to pay a monthly fee to play those above games which will be lost without even a gamble. Here you at least have the possibility of breaking even or profiting.

PS. If you need a translation for back into the economy ... It is purposely vaguely put that way to mean, most goes back to you as the participant who decayed the TT, though not all of it, a tiny (minute even) portion may go to other things within the economy.

MA will never reveal it's exact mechanics of how things work and prefer people to keep guessing/stressing on such things as exact meaning of how much goes back to the participant and how much goes to other points(things) within the economy.

-rep. i have put alot of money in this game (not a fragment to others) and i still have alot of money ingame, all of my items that i have i see as an investment which keep rising in markup all the time. If you play Entropia Universe the wrong way you can easily loose 100$ a day but if you play it the right way you can play alot and hard with a small amount of money.. (i havent depoed for 2 months)
 
Only put in what your aren't afraid to lose have fun and enjoy and who knows you could decide it's not to bad after all. But if you think you'll always come out ahead of the game at the end of the week well thats not always the case. A lot depends on your playing style and the choices you make in game.

Just as others have said before, only play what you are willing to "throw into the sea". Luckily there is noone forcing you to pay anything to play EU, the choice is purely yours.

As to where the money comes from, I have this innovative and guaranteed way to make money, its called a "job". :D

Some people lose that in 3 days mining amped at cnd, and thats even , taking it slowly. (like me)

You have cheap weekends, time back when I was out celebrating weekends downtown in pubs, I easyly lost $300 a weekend sometimes damn lot more.

Ok, I was insance drunk, got heavy headage, often puked after that excess and had some very bad experience with german police as they don´t like that drunk assholes I was back that time.

Not one of this bad sideeffects in EU, its not only cheaper its a lot safer and more social :)

I love EU !
 
To the thread starter:

A) What was your ingame activity

B) At what kind of level did you excercised that ingame activity

It is very easy to loose 15K in one day:

-> no mining skills -> buy a tk120 finder -> buy 10 OA109. -> buy 500 bombs -> go to CND -> be persistent and keep dropping them even tho you get sh*t returns.

-> No hunting skills -> buy full ghost + 5B + emtk 2600 -> om2875 + 105. Go hunt hoggs, even tho you miss constantly and do a lower avg dmge then an unamped korssH400.

If you lost 8K ped so quick, you might want to rethink you're strategy?

How about: you buy pixie + 2a / korss 380+102 / and you go hunt molisk or equivalent.... I guarantee you that you will not loose your ped so fast. => determine at what lvl you want to play.

Even tho it must suck to loose that kind of money, you have made the choice to deposit that kind of money.

ok ok , ill stop the flaming, but ........... you have to answer........ if you go to the casino , and you lose money , do you stand in front of the entry and scream and shout, "Rippoff !!! Ripoff !!! they stole my money .....

Or if you go out, assuming you have friends ;), and the alcohol is starting to wearout, do you scream then, Im rippedoff i lost my drunkiness, while i have spend over 50 bucks in booze, do i have to continue ???

Evryone can -rep me what they want but, it will not change the truth, it was your own choice, if you cant lose the money then put in in a bankaccount, EU isnt will not and will never be, an investment
