Praetorian Guard is looking for a few extra members to fill its ranks.

We currently have around 30 active members with people from Europe and the US. We are not a top 50 society nor are we likely to be (but we do have a lot of fun :) ); instead we are more of a development society, with member’s skills ranging from 0 up to around 100K.

So we have no minimum skill level needed to join us – newcomers and experienced players are all welcome. We have hunters, miners, crafters and shop owners, and tamers in the society, so no real specialisations, although there are more hunters than anything else.

We do have a few essential requirements though:
  • You must be over 21. The majority of us are over 30 now, and to be honest teenagers probably just won’t enjoy our fascinating chats about slippers, false teeth and cocoa ;)
  • You must be active – this doesn’t mean you have to be online 8 hours a day 6 days a week, but we would expect to see you once or twice a month as a minimum.
  • You must be self sufficient – we don’t mind whether or not you deposit, in fact we have some very active members who don’t. But you must be able to support yourself ingame (without begging or scamming obviously).
  • You must be happy to help other society members out. We often have members who are completely new to the game (as indeed you may be) and you should be happy to help out with tips and answer any questions they have, if you are able to of course.
  • You must be nice.

  • You should have a sense of humour (and it also helps if you are at least slightly mad).

Alternatively you can apply through the society terminal making sure you give some details about yourself. We operate a 2 week(ish) trial period for new members, just to make sure we all get along.

hmmm i guess im not as active as i should be since i seem to miss all the good conversations (slippers, false teeth, and cocoa) :laugh:

but to get on topic here, new players are more than welcome as there are a lot of us that love going on tp runs, and also a few of us that like hunting low level mobs - as a break from the huge ped loss trox hunts :rolleyes:
 
Ermmm....I think I missed the chat about false teeth and slippers too :scratch2: (I reckon it must have been between Qweeg and Ksee :laugh:)

To add to what Qweeg and Raf mentioned, we are a very active but close-knit soc, most evenings there will be 10 or more members online. Team hunts do happen, but are usually spur of the moment. We have a few members that prefer to do their own thing while nattering away in soc chat, and that is just fine.

If you crave for bigger mobs to kill, we usually have a couple of people on CP/CND at any one time....and if your preference is to attempt mobs that you have no hope of killing, then I'm sure Marcin would welcome the company :D

Soc membership is capped, so we will not expand to the point where you do not know everyone, and all soc chat is in English...or wibble.

So if, you think you'd like to try us out, pm one of us, or grab us online.

By way of an apology I should point out to anyone who is familiar with our society that Dannen - our founder and previous leader - is still with us. RL commitments (something about getting married and wanting to see what this place called "outside" was :scratch2:) have meant she is unable to be as active as before, and she has therefore decided to take more of a back seat for the time being.

Dannen has been a driving force in making the society is as successful as it is today, and we all look forward to her return to active play (from memory the novelty of marriage wears off after a few months Dan, then you'll be itching to get back ;) ).

My apologies Dan for not mentioning this above :ahh:, these days I often forget what I am typing before I finish the...

Now where did I put those teeth?

Indeed we do.....I'm just 'holding the baby' for her at the moment :D

Anyhoo, enough of this old-age banter. Basically this soc is for those who are a little more mature, but who don't necessarily act it. Who am I kidding? We definately don't act it, thats boooring!

PG have some good chats and good hunts. Alternatively members may be spotted at crafting machines, or dropping bombs and probes - we do it all. In fact we may just hang around in town (or most likely a bar) just dancing and chatting.

As Qweeg pointed out, skills are not the most important thing for PG. Current members are, I suppose, mid-level. How many skills? Who cares?! People with no skills could join (and do) and as long as they are nutty as a fruitcake they'll fit right in. Read the posts above for examples of both the daft (JC :p ) and the helpful (Qweeg) side of PG, and sign up!

A flavour of recent soc chats:

  • Can we do the beacon tonight? (Marcin *is* persistent :laugh:)
  • Are Hogglos due to give us a huge payout? (Er...probably not)
  • Is Ksee paying attention to what we are talking about? (Definitely not :rolleyes:)
  • Will JC shut up moaning that the global she got was *only* lyst? (Moi? Moaning....never :cool:)
  • Does Jade look up his own skirt whilst online? (I'll leave you to guess the answer :D)
  • What is better than a beer? (lots of answers of '2 beers', but Jen won with the obvious reply: sex ;))

You can find more important EU tactic discussion in the Praetorian Guard Soc Chat....members only I'm afraid :)

Hmm very nice leader? you must be meaning the founder, cause the current leader is a vicious meanie!! you should see her in a group of Troxies, nice is the last thing id call her at times like that :sniper: :handgun: :sniper: :handgun: :shots: (which is what i was doing while watching) LOL

Long time since we bumped or thread...so here it goes. If your looking for a fun society....with helpful active members, come check us out. We have all different types here....crafters, miners, hunters, shoppers (that sounds familiar?) and from all different time zones. Were always looking for good people!!

Must revive thread...

We are looking for some new members. We currently range from month-old newcomers to established players (~150K skills). We are helpful and trustworthy. We are active in events in the universe, those from others and a few of our own. We have people that are regulars on CND, CP and the planet. We have members in Europe and stretch across to the west coast of the USA, so there is almost always someone online to talk to and get into trouble with. Just about every profession ingame is represented as well. We try to be well-rounded and like to try new things. From using TT knives on Berycled, to pulling out all the stops for take some Falxangius... nothing is safe :laugh:

Give us a look and check your local soc terminal :thumbup:

I will add a little to this :)

I have had recent dealings with Jade and was quite suprised and delighted over the way she is... I have known a few of this soc and gladly give this a bump and my best wishes..

Its been quite a while since ive been online long enough to much of anything, but if theres one thing i miss about EU....its definately this soc.
