Protection stats of armour plate (L)

I have read that L armour is meant to keep it's stats and protect you the same damage amount no matter what it's state of repair and UL armour does not, it protects you less the more in need of repair it is.

My question is 'Does L armour plate act in the same way as L armour or not?'

The reason I ask is that it seems to me that as my armour plate decreases in value the harder I get hit. Has anyone tested this? Or is it just all in my imagination?

L armor plates protect the full protection til fully dead as does L armor.

UL armor plates and armor only fully protect at full TT (correct me if I've been told wrong before)

Well thats what I thought too, but it just doesn't feel that way.
I hunt a lot of scips and it just seems like they hit harder when my L armour is wearing out??

yeah I get that feeling with my polaris L too, but I think it must be my imagination.
