Hi guys,

I have a question about guns. Pistols or rifles?
Why I ask - because I have noticed that in the shop there are not coming rifles(nobody crafts or just mobs don't drop them) what I could use, or I'm just not lucky. Or worse ... craft self.

Any suggestions? I just buyed cold-ir. Yeah I know really not eco, but in auc was nothing else for me to buy and shoot. :(

I'm lvl 11 laser. (rifles of course) but maybe it is better idea from this point to go to shoot with pistols??

At least moste uber-persons I've seen with pistols?! true?

Thanks in advance.

I guess you don't want to shoot [L] weapons?

It's not a problem to shoot (L) weapons, I was using Marcorp-1 but they went just out.

the same with Riker's. none.

I'm not really pro in this stuff yet, thats why I'm asking ;)

check this website:

http://www.ageofenlightenment.eu/SIB.php

check out herman rifles from Arkadia, available on caly auction

or try to look for piron rifles, piron plr-7 for example.

or from cyrene: imperium pilot scorpion rank-7

Are they really available on caly? because traveling to Arkadia is a bit risky(as I heard)

Thanks when I get in game gonna check them out.

Thanks.

Edit:
Spawn If I will start to use BLP guns, I will gain the same skils as the laser? or totally new BLP?

Skills between blp/laser/gauss of the same types of weapons are mostly similar, except for laser weap tech / blp weap tech / gauss, etc.

First Up - Travelling from one planet to another is fine. I wouldn't call it safe because there is a chance of getting shot and pirated. This is only an issue if you are carrying "stackable", that is any and all items in the "materials" or "mined resources" tabs of your inventory. Always make sure that before you travel in space you have either put you stackables in planet storage or sold them.

All other items in you inventory are safe and cannot be looted by pirates so even if they kill you and loot you the pirate receives nothing and you just have the inconvenience of respawning at the space station - repairing you ship and flying on your way again. All your guns, ammo, armor, clothes, vehicles etc will still be with your avatar. Normally a pirate will not attack you more than once as the second time they will realise you have no stackable items on you.

Now to you first question.

The economy and item avaiability is variable, so there will be times during your game play where your preffered weapon is unavailable some time for a few weeks at a time. Do not despair, eventually the items always seem to beccome avaiable again. When you can't get the weapon you want on the auction there a few things you can do

- Check the Shops - Many players forget or can't be bothered to do some old fashioned shopping. Check out the shops in the Malls, you may find what you are after. Calypso shops are often awkward to find and laid out poorly. Recently the shops on Arkadia have been redesigned and are much easier now to browse.
- Go to another Planet - as stated previously - the ranked series from Cyrene and the Piron range from Arkadia offer very good value for money, are often available on Calypso auction and will introduce you to a different range of weapons that you may prefer to the one you currently use.
- Use the trade channel - that's what it is for. If you want a particular weapon put a message in trade chat, maybe another player / trader has what you are looking for
- Diversify - This is my best advice and it runs contrary to the often popular concept of skilling in EU where you are encouraged to choose a skill and stick to it. I have always done the complete opposite and tried a lot of things, partly because I have a curious nature and partly because there is no point being level 50 laser pistoleer if there are no level 50 laser pistols available in game. I do a lot of Mind Force skilling. Once you have an implant the chips are cheap and the low level attack chips last a very long time. By a couple of them and choose one you like and skill with that when you can't find the gun you want. Personally I like the lacerating attack nanochip but everyone is different so see which one you like.
- By a UL non SIB weapon or old skool weapon as others may call it. Buy a gravis or a karma killer and use it when you dont have the gun you want. It isn't eco but you will have huge DPS compared to normal and be able to hunt much bigger mobs with it.

I hope this helps

Moondog.

Thanks very good info. I am considering to move to Arkadia, because I heard (rumors ofc) there is better.
I have now JustifierMK3. I dunno of its oldie or not but at least I can train with it and I guess normal gun to shoot.
waiting ofc for gun for my skills. Not eco right now at the moment but yeah ... thats the life huh? :D

Amen! Lootius be praised.

Also, don't stick just with peapod shooters. Get some guts and try a few melee things from time to time. Greek Labrys axes are fun - remind me of the old 2x0s BUT with a major advantage in the SIB category. (side note: the Labrys is also known as a bipennis - great addition to a game that has fapping as a profession)

Clubs, swords and knives also are fun to play around with sometimes, and you can be the life of any party with a good ol whip. :) Completely unnecessary, but an uneco Katsuichi Determination or a big ass gun that makes your opponents fly in the sky is a mighty nice little thing to have in a ring fight.

Also, above all else, remember to have fun! This is a game, even if the advertisements say otherwise.

Thanks!! I'm doing it a lot actually. Only thing is that Im still waiting for something big :))
+ I guess with meelee can get more evade/dodge?
yeah I've seen some other players who have all attack skills in 50 lvl I think it's always better to be multifunction.

Personally, I can’t suggest to anyone, what gun to use and to be specialist to it.
As already soneone said [correction:moondog said:)], there will be times you couldn’t find that gun you prefer and you will turn to another that is going to be available in that time.
But as you leveling up, the mobs you are going to hunt will be more difficult and it is sure you will prefer to give 'em some damage before they drop on you.
So, it is certain you are going to need rifles and then pistols or any other melee weapon for closer engagement.
Most of the experienced hunters, using at least 3 different guns.
A rifle for start for luring and giving the first critical shots of dmg, a good SIB or maxed weapon for close range and finally an eco finisher (whatever this can be, depends of your preference but surely with less “burn” per shot from your primary close range weapon).

So for me it is rifles AND pistols.

There is another question that rising up.

BLP, Laser or plasma? or melee?
but this is another story
short answer? I'm going with moondog to this=diversify

Primary goal (as mastermesh said and I agree 100%) HAVE FUN with anything you choose.

Melee will get you evade, but also increase HP and strength so you can carry more shit :) (also big muscly arms :))

All depend on your goals.
Some of us prefer to concentrate on one weapon type to get Commando before skilling others ;)
But be aware that getting 50-70 takes probably same amount of time or longer than 0-50, so if you are fine with lvl 50 then by all means have fun with other weapons.
