Poll question: Do you want to PK scammers?!

Every day I see some forum members getting pissed at scammers (natural response, it's ok).

I also see that they suggest to everyone that they PK the scammer.

I ask you: How is that possible? What would it accomplish?

A. How to pk a scammer.?
No scammer I know of, would go into PVP areas, just so that you can kill them. They will surely never go on PVP3, since there is no reason for them to buy a toxic shot.

B. What would killing a scammer accomplish?
Even if by a wild chance you pk a scammer, what would change, how is that going to make you feel good?
If you think you will feel extremely good by virtually resetting a player's location and HP to a revival terminal and 0, then you are sick. You need help.

Bottom line: Don't suggest everyone to pk a certain avatar, or create amazing revenge scenarios, you should use your energy in a constructive matter.

Thank you!

PS: I am getting extremely pissed off by ideas such as luring a scammer to a pvp area and offing them. It is a very lame idea.

But it IS fun to accidentally catch one there.

Voted pointless tho, cos it is.

Yes of course

But they would never go to pK areas..too busy in towns plying their trade

Still, if ever I saw one in a red zone... :D

... trying to bring ppl with their feet back on the ground?

I must say I liked so very much the part where you explain the wacking of a potential scammer by " resetting location and HP to a revival terminal and 0"

You really made my evening, mrproper! :)

Nice one!

Oh, and I am very curious how the "reality bite" description for crafting would sound ... ideeas? ;)

even wastind decay on a scammer, just that he can revive?
guess what i do when im in PvP (kinda rare)
i take armor off, and let the ppl shoot me, since armor would be useless anyway, and when i revive, i laugh, since they throw away money
scammers would do the same
if you really want to spend cash to make you feel good, rather give it the scammed person, instead of blasting it away

Yeah getting them to a pvp zone is the difficult thing.
In a way you generally have to scam them into going to parts of amethera.. the Scammer's greed can be used to facilitate this too.

REally the only benefit to pking a scammer is if you can bring him or her to a land area with a high number of ultra agro mobs and make it so they die there.
If you chose the land area correctly and can talk the scammer into going there, when they die there they wont be able to get out easily.

Even better results for when they dont have a tp chip as the only way they would have at leaving the area is to support case MA to move them or to manipulate someone into escorting them out.
If the land area is chosen correctly the only peo9ple who would have the equipment and skills to escort them would also know they are a scammer due to reading here or soc warnings.
In wich case the death of the scammer would do some public good by preventing them from plying thier craft for a while.

If i was rich enough i would love to be bale to have a land area somewhere along the the amethera tp routes that had a RT in themiddle instead of the edge. I would fill every dna slot with an agressive mob (like berycled, merp, tantillian or trox) and set the numbers to maximum in some case (like tants berys ormerp i set the maturity to max too).such place would be called the Calypso Maxium Security Prison.

while not out in the pvp area, most folk do hunt.

and mob trains are great equalizers:D

just mow em down lol

To PK or ... not to PK, that is the question!

BUMP

yeah course, a nice lil tango shot up the arris will sort them out, then loot their ass, and give all the stuff back to the lil noobs who got scammed, and when they are dead, sit on them and give them a complimentary teabag session, hehe

Dream wish bumped!

I do not wish to PK scammers, I wish their account and IP to be perminently locked.

It makes no sense to waste more ammo or decay on blades just to give them some free doge or evade...
For me is hard to understand how can anyone ever scamm me...
I did payed 400 PED for 1 LWT once, but it was not a scam... I was stupid. I intended to bid on an aim chip but clicked on the LWT one...
In the moment you give an item to unother player, you should consider it lost forever. If you will get it back, is nice. if not... is the way of the game... Hust ask for colateral. As simple as that.
...and I'm not a reseler. yet

pk scammers, nonscammers, noobs, ubers, friends, foes, and your grandma!!

:D

Then explain

well, for starters, it's just a game and I think many people take this whole pk thing way too seriously. "oooo, so and so pk'd me!" meh

As far as "luring" a scammer into pvp and pk'ing them, go ahead if it gives you satisfaction. Does it really solve anything? No. But if you somehow manage to pull it off and get enjoyment out of it then I'd say knock yourself out.

I for one love the pvp aspect of EU. It's probably the only reason I still play EU, since I'm really not a gambler at all and never have been. But I find it interesting that so many people take getting pk'd so personally when at the end of the day we're still just talking about a game, and the only way for you to be pk'd is by first entering a pvp zone. :)

NO, it's pointless... (hey, what a clever idea, three little dots mean I gotta say why)

...as has been said before; throwing ammo at them is emptying your pocket.

Yeah, I'd love to blow pieces out of them...especially the ones that have caused n00b's to quit the game because of a stupid and embarassing mistake they are pressured into by unscrupulous people. However as has been pointed out, they rarely venture into pvp.

Of course if you mobbed them...different story ;)

It can be kinda upsetting if a group of avatar's suddenly surround a nasty, lothesome little scammer or theif. They are left with three options...log out...tp out (I bet some have chips)...hope the nice avatar's get bored and move.

Sadly, it can be difficult to prove a scam has happened unless screenies with the conversation are posted. Maybe if MA allowed a 'police' option on PM's so that they could be sent direct and intact to support for direct action against the culprit. Even then you wouldn't cover everything.

I do not like scammer's...I've seen the misery they can leave in their wake
