Shared Loot Question

I've often heard folks say that returns "should be lower" in shared loot but have never been able to find an explanation as to why. Could someone please explain the rationale to me? Thank you in advance for your help!

A lot of things don't get split evenly due to the tt value of the item. If you loot shrapnel only returns would be pretty much the same.

It's a bad deal for anyone hunting shared loot

- High dps - you get most items, but once in a while there's a luck factor where someone who had made 1 dmg to the mob leech item
- Low dps - guy with higher dps then you gets almost all items, you you will certainly lose

It's a lose-lose deal, unless you are hunting with friends and you share stuff honesly.
