Test post to Mindark: a simple way to solve space, hangars, the universe and everything!

Step 1
: Create a new Planet of the Robots. aka. 'The Dark Planet'.

This new planet is difficult to see as robot technology cloaking makes it almost completely invisible; a bit like a giant black hole. Powerful robot generators emitting a beautiful, feint, purple corona resembling a total eclipse only reveal the planetary circumference at close range.

On this planet are giant skyscrapers: industrial factories where robots are constantly being manufactured from locally mined ores and the debris from crashed spaceships. A visitor would see new robots being assembled on conveyor belts then immediately assigned to a work or battle role.

Spaceships are drawn there to fight the patrolling robot fighter and transporter ships on their way to attack other planets.

They must be wary though of the powerful robot defences including tractor beams that ensnare the ships, pull them down onto the planet where their ships are crushed and recycled and the occupants are put into a robot prison cell and kept there for 24 hours unless they pay a 100 ped bribe to a robot guard or are rescued by their friends.

Rescuers must storm the prison, kill the robot guards and shoot the locks to release their friends and then teleport to safety on a nearby neutral station. Sadly their ship is lost to the robot menace forever.

If the rescuers fail of course they too end up in a prison cell.

Step 2: Re-installation of the original hangar ships

The current hangars are once again given a purpose. Ships are reinstalled with new, nuclear fusion engines and now offer completely free and near instantaneous travel to all planets on an 'auto-shuttle' (pilot-less) basis.

In addition, these simple hangar ships are the only ships capable of safely landing on the Robot Planet (for technical reasons too complex to explain in this brief test post).

Therefore these are the ships of choice for rescue missions but must be piloted and the rescuers negotiate a transport fee with the pilot.

Hangar ships are also in big demand by miners, wanting to mine for rare robot ores and for adventure seekers wanting to take on robots on their own planet.

Thank you for considering my suggestion Mindark, I await your thoughts on this when you have finished with all that Loot 2 malarkey.

Yours sincerely

Kev
