As promised I will log my CND trips. I will track every PEC spent so this will include hunting and a bit of crafting. No amps will be used. Not sure how much info I want to include but will put more than enough relevant info to make this interesting.

Mining Tools: OF-105, MF-104, MF-105, TT Excavators, OM-104, MD-104, OT-104, MT-104

Other Tools: Korss 400(L) (30.58), Breer Ma1(L) (5.21), A102 Amp, A103 Amp, Goot TT Refiner.

FAPS: Adapted Vivo T10 (L) (18.21), Ek-2600

Armor: Ghost w/ Gremlin Footguards, 5B plates

Edit: Wanted to add that I only add full ingots to the totals. For example, in run 1 I found a VI Dianium but total is 3.75 because I only got 1 ingot out of it. The remainder will be added to later runs should I find more. It's just easier this way :) .

Nice run to start the trip. I no sooner hit the ground when Maximus hit the #7 ATH in dome 14. As expected it started very slow then hit dome 11 where I hit this HOF and Global and a few other claims. Enmats were horrible.

After the first run this one was depressing. A freaking VII fest until I hit dome 6 at the very end of the run and hit the IX, XI, and X. The one saving grace was a hunting global.

Another typical run on the rock. I went straight back to Dome 6 and only hit the X Gang and a VIII Melchi. Went several domes in a row with NRFs so I figured I'd kill a few mobs, that went well. Only 11 hits but luckily one was a global or this could have been real bad. Enmat hit rate this night was atrocious.

Looks real interesting to see a longterm on cnd. Run output easy to read, sure u wont get bored posting that much after each run?

Btw ty for telling me that the 88k was hit on CND.
 
Ok, let me help you a bit with how you should adress CND mining. Few simple rules that will reduce your losses (no guarantee though, it is after all avatar based most of the time).

1) If there are no globals and rest of your guys complain about mining make a break, hang in the control room and wait for few mining globals to pass the screen.
2) Know all domes and their content so you can jump into a dome as soon as certain ore or enmatter is "hot".
3) Know all major CND miners, they will guide you to what dome is hot at the moment. If you see Jeff globaling 4 times in 5 minutes on iron, narc and igni then you know that dome 14 is hot. If someone is getting Iron and Zink then go dome 17. Storm it and bomb it like mad.
4) 50 nrfs in a single dome is too much. Change domes after 30 nrfs. I even suggest making test runs in domes. 20 mines and 20 probes are usually enough to tell you if a particular dome is "hot". Of course you can hit ATH after 300 nrfs but you are up there to profit in the long run and not waste your peds chasing dreams (I hope you are;))
5) When you find a "hot" dome bomb the crap out of it. Let's say you go to dome 6 and in the first 20 bombs you get a XII and a X. Use another 50 bombs on that same dome covering as much as possible.
6) If you can, team up with someone who is also mining unamped up there and share intel. You tell him that "dome 10 is enmatter hot" and which side you are covering so he can go the other way and still profit. Then he will tell you that dome 11 is hot since he just struck 3x X in 10 bombs etc. CND is big enough for 2 and help is alway welcome.

I'm sure some miners will be pissed for reavealing secrets of the trade to public but since these are tips I came up with myself, after loosing a lot up there, I don't give a flying faucervix about what they think.:laugh:

@Sircus- I have a spread sheet I update when I find a claim and to total everything at the end so translating that to here is actually quite easy. Total time added to a run is no more than 5 minutes to plug in dome, type, size, coords and depth. Finally tally is maybe another 5 minutes at the end. It's not like I am logging a 200 bomb/100 probe run on the planet full of II claims...lol

The run started well with X Lyst, X Gang and XI Melchi then just never got going. I had to bail on a couple domes to help a socmate clear some claims in 20 and 8. The mobs not looting worth a damn killed any chance of profit on this run which again was saved by the XIV Alice which was the last claim of the run. Nothing like taking out Daikiba Stalkers and Prowlers and having them no loot then seeing a Daikiba Young global. :(

I have this thoery that CND loot turns to crap as soon as it hits primetime for Americans. 2 days in a row same results. Good 1st runs then "The Americans are off work and online, shut the squirrels down". Oh well, I had plenty of time for another run but if the trend was the same the next run would have been worse. So I grabbed some of my Eye and Muscle oil and headed to the CR for a little Springs run. It paid off and eased the pain of this day. I then logged out.

Uhhhhggg...Not what I needed after the last run. I tried using MF-104 for this run....eh. Salt on the wound was Socmate with 1/4 the skills logging in and getting a HOF using the same finder. I also decided to not hunt this run. All I can say is runs like this do happen and barring a miracle this trip is going to be a huge loss.

Someone PM'd me and asked what my goals for this log were. Well, the common answer is to Tower and/or profit but while a tower would be awesome I guess I just wanted to show the ups and downs of mining on CND. Give people who have never been an idea of the costs and apparently show that not everyone who does a log profits...lol Oddly enough this is by far the worst string of negative runs I have ever had up there. Oh well, something has to give.

The good news only 1 VI and a global. The bad news is the hit rate was bad. Honestly I dont mind only losing 50 ped on a run. Can make some of that back on markup but its the string of -100+ runs that are killer. Lots of IX this run and hated to go down but the ped ran dry.

I hear you. Thing that sucked was coming down and losing more and more and more. By far the worst trip I can remember. Hopefully the VU has 50% returns written out of the code lol.
 
Well at least for me last couple of days on the planet was the same . Low hit rate and when hit something usually II or III ( and i'm talking about ore here ) so is not only CND side.
 
seems like the last few days have been as bad for you as for me... my last 200 bombs lasted 4days... after 20nrf i logged each time.

105 Claims/2323 Bombs dropped = 4.52% hit rate
57 Claims/ 1153 Probes dropped= 4.94% hit rate
162 Claims Total/ 3476 Total dropped = 4.66% total hit rate

Average ped per claim 2566.12/162= 15.84

Just did another trip to CND. So bad I am not even going to bother posting it. Just a handful of globals, no Hofs and no hunting globals. Down another 875 ped since my last trip and my avatar has lost over 25% of its value since VU 9.4.

I think I am going to drop down to OF-211 and JU55 for a little while on the planet and see if things improve. Definately done on CND for now. I have been considering chipping everything out and taking some $$ out of game before it's all gone but that would suck. Almost Level 35 Prospector and would be sickening to chip out all that hard work. I am also just a few weeks away from this avatars 1 year anniversary. Hopefully things pick up.... :(
