Upcoming VU - expectation, speculations, wishes and release date

this is the stupidest idea I've heard in my life. the possibility of sweating semi-afk is reason I'm always (!) logged in the game when I'm in front of my computer. cause I can watch videos on the side, write or play different games even, with low input when I have to shoot a monster and move to the next. that is at least half the fun of Entropia for me.

everybody is afk some of the time! so screw the complainers. your bitching is annoying ALL players.

and why did nobody comment on my idea... took me several minutes to formulate the concept. why, if people rather discuss plain nonsense, I won't bother in the future!

So, your idea was to revive the teleporter idea? Turn it into a king of the hill kind of contest for them and add fees to pay for it? Yeah, not interested in re-crafting one of the few items in EU that works properly. TPs should stay exactly as they are now. Let's fix the shit in this game that has been broken for years before messing with something that has no issues.

If you want to expand the use of sweat, add it to more BPs, make it needed for building on plots, make it needed for repair work, etc. TP Fees are just another way to suck funds out of the players.

Now, for your post above. You are telling me that there are times that you are afk-sweating and don't touch the keyboard for 30+ minutes? Really?? I've never seen any one mob last 30+ min before going dry so you have to at least try to switch mobs. I think you are getting upset over nothing since a 30+ minute limit should just get the AFK sweaters in the middle of the field sweating nothing or the sweat botters.

There, feel better buttercup? :silly2:

from talking to a disciple who was heavy into helping organise the sweat circles at royal, afk'ers were disliked and would be killed in the pvp areas, what they would do to keep sweating is stand in a U shape autotooling, then a fresh mob is lured into the circle and the collect again.

Best way to stop afk'ing is make the auto-tool stop randomly between 150-300 uses, bots would of course find a way, but hopefully they are caught and punished

That really would suck for repairing spacecrafts, when you need a 1000+ uses on an rk-5 to repair one section...
Cant see a reason why those players should be stopped from decaying their tools while watching a movie, etc. its not like they 'loot' anything except skills and those balance out in their market value automatically if there is more available.
Besides players in sweat circles and elsewhere would likely 'forget' a stone on the use-tool key/button of their keyboard/mouse and nothing would have changed - except that they cant 'chat' anymore...

very true, hadn't thought of the repairers, should have paid note to JohnCapital's post there :D

I disagree with John on this, as you really cannot be expected to necessarily know the functions of everything.
But in a well working forum, someone will quickly point out a flaw (or more) and we can take things up from there.

This is actually close to an idea I proposed that spaceships should have damageable terminals in lots more places (like the terminals at fort events), which require repair teams to run around a lot more and not go afk.

Thus, the ideas software at MA (or flipchart? ;)) should link to considerations elsewhere whenever some change is made. If we change A, then we should change B too. Does this need C? Can we do this together in an update?

i like the sound of the repair teams, would it be like mission starts, repair terminal A to 100%, then Terminal C, F, B. Mission ends and you could receieve a buff for repair work like at the end of medusa

Even with the above scenario, a 30+ min keyboard input would still be workable..

Auto-tool isn't the issue.

Aye i made a suggestion regarding this in the past asking for repairtools being more efficient at repairing damage right in the spot where it occurs then at the central repairsections. Have more local repairspots which can be targeted for more accurate/faster repairs but keep the central repairspots to allow for less efficient repairs on ships with small crew.

To do anything with space that takes away from free spirited individuals who fly their quads and sleips would detract severely from the game. Much better to add content to space for example mining.
Making fuel lootable? As silly an idea as having tools and ww wire be lootable.

Mind Ark would not need to remove ships to make it so players can teleport from one planet to another. For example the hangars still exist. Not worth as much of course but those of us who have played for years know that you get so much time to make ped on your investment and then things change creating opportunity for new crop of players. As a mothership owner I understood this risk when I purchased my mothership.

Yes incorporate the best features of ComPet into Entropia Universe :yay:

"Greetings Entropians!
The MindArk team has been hard at work on the upcoming Version Update 15.10, and we’d like to take this opportunity to share some previews of the VU, as well as review some of the progress made so far in 2016.

Earlier this year we implemented a new Dynamic Event System, which has been used to create some very exciting Robot Invasion events on Planet Calypso. The Calypso team will be releasing an additional Robot Invasion dynamic event suitable for lower level avatars in the upcoming release.

MindArk will continue to expand and improve this system based on data and feedback from the Calypso implementations, and provide increasingly powerful and flexible tools for our content producers and Planet Partners to create engaging dynamic and storyline driven events in the future.

One of the exciting new features that will be implemented in VU 15.10 is an expansion to the Housing system that will enable production of resources from CLD Plot estates. The first type of production to be implemented will be Gardening, allowing CLD Plot estate holders to grow various plants that will be used in the construction of new components for crafting.

Entropia Pocket, the new smartphone app featuring a two-step authentication code generator to complement the existing Gold Card security system, is currently in soft launch and is scheduled for full release in the fall.

ComPet (www.competgame.com), is currently in open beta and the ComPet development team continues to integrate feedback and improvements in preparation for the full ComPet launch.

Finally, our marketing team would like to share some promising statistics from MindArk’s intense marketing efforts over the past year:
• the number of active participants has grown by more than 51% over the past 12 months.
• in-game revenue has grown 10% year-on-year for the first 2 quarters of 2016.

All of us at MindArk would like to thank you for your dedication to Entropia Universe and for helping to make the first half of 2016 so exciting. We look forward to continuing to improve the Entropia Universe platform in the second half of 2016, as well as presenting a wide range of exciting events and content for all of our participants to enjoy!

Best regards,

Ehm...... 51% increase in the number of active participants? Sound high to me :p

newcomers? i guess yes
depositors? no....yet(i hope)

depends how they're defining "active"

I'd like to imagine active means at least 8 hours/week of play time

also... if they're new then we're not going to see a profound impact on ped turnover or deposits.. new players are on small bankrolls and therefore cycle much less. Every lvl 50 player hunting to their level is worth 20 noobs.

Still increase is good.. and I could definitely see a huge increase around icarus and boreas from back when i was there in fall of 2015.

funny how they added previously developed stuff to this. Probably too embarrassed to only print one small paragraph about what this VU will have- growing crap on cld plots.

Surely at the end of september the second half of the year can no longer be considered to be in the 'future' ?...
Im looking forward to the promised space development 'priority' and the introduction of cargo missions - something that by now should be a 'priority' surely hasnt been forgotten to be mentioned 'again' ?
Looking forward to the second part of the '2016 so far' emails... :)

I'm sorry John but by the time space redevelopment comes out neither you, nor I and many others will be playing entropic anymore. If it doesn't take a few hours and benefit their bottom line, nothing will be done.

Simply, a space overhaul will take a considerable amount of resources MA would rather use on compets, bug fixes, wave events, and graphic upgrades.

Also, I think we'll get some more "hidden surprises" this vu.. hopefully they aren't as disastrous as EP bps. In fact, something to counteract that like a crafting overhaul would be awesome.

I for one don't care about space (what, aren't the planets big enough for you?!). what I want is more professions and a permanent alternative to sweating (either tp repairing or weed cutting, both of which concepts are highly dynamic, improve new player retention and require you to go to different places all the time, which right now really isn't the case in the game)
