I need a portable Auctioneer and I'm willing to pay to use it.
I understand the need to have a physical auctioneer that everyone has to go to a service center to use. I understand why its important for people to mingle among each other at the service centers. I understand why Force Nexus, Sweat, and ME prices depend on people using TP chips to get back to a service center.
There are no shortage of people who need access to the auction to check on this or that while they are out and about doing things in EU.
I have no problem paying 1 PEC decay every time I cause the Portable Auctioneer (L) to load a page of items. The Portable Auctioneer (L) should be view only so as to maintain balance on social interaction as well as TP chip usage.
It should be crafted.. maybe loot a handful of unlimited versions to hunters, maybe more depending on demand.
What will end up happening is that more people with PEDs to spend will be spending more time browsing the auction looking for one thing or another while out doing what they do. People often want to check the auctions for something and this will let them do that wherever they are at. Usually the thought comes up while out in the middle of a hunting or mining run, then at the end of that run it gets forgotten about.
More eyes on the auction means that overall more things will be sold thus helping the economy as a whole. They still will need to go to a service center to place a bid, buy something, retrieve something, list an item for sale, place or fill an order.. etc.
More often then not, when a person sells an item, a large part of the PED from that finds its way into the loot system. An economy that consumes more is able to cycle ped faster. How many people have ever waited for something to sell before they went to hunt, mine, or craft? How many have waited for something to sell so they can buy something else? So with that point, it can be argued that not having a Portable Auctioneer is hurting the overall game economy.
Enabling things to be sold faster, by putting more eyes on auction, allows people who need that PED to get out and go do what they do.
Supply creates demand and this would bring knowledge of that supply to everyone more easily.
