i am playing this game at a 8.5kped loss which i have deposited a lot more than that.... i am always playing this game at a loss (plain and simple) that takes into account the skills and items i have and added all my deposits up, the loot in entropia tracker is just turnover, that has nothing to do with my deposits...

RJ Rob

Nope not nearly close enough to an answer. I am at 8.5k loss? So? This tells me absolutely nothing, and especially nothing to do with depositors entitled to more peds

Try again

As other said, the loot is random, so it can'treally be fair or unfair.

Loot isn't random. Otherwise the whole game concept would be classified as gambling and illegal in sweden.
If you have some experience in the game you will understand that loot isn't random. It is quiet obvious. But non random loot doesn't mean there is a way to profit. :girl:

Beginner's Luck? It is not uncommon for someone who hasn't played before to do spectacularly good at something. How many times have lotteries been won by someone who bought 1 ticket, when there were countless people who bought many? I'll never understand it, but I've seen people drop as much as $80 on lottery tickets at one time.

so what your saying is that every loot that anyone makes has already been assigned to them before they made it :scratch2:

not impossible , and if it was true then it would not be built the way you assume.

Its fair to players :smoke:

Ah, the old argument - predestination v free will!

There should be more theological loot theories

Ok answer is this......

i am playing this game at a 8.5kped loss which i have deposited a lot more than that.... i am always playing this game at a loss (plain and simple) that takes into account the skills and items i have and added all my deposits up, the loot in entropia tracker is just turnover, that has nothing to do with my deposits....

and this game is not meant to be "classed" as "gambling" so gambling has nothing to do with this thread and poll i created

i hope this is the answer you wanted

RJ Rob
It is gambling. How can someone who has been around as long as you honestly say it isn't? Just ridiculous.

There is no entitlement. There is no reward. You're rolling a fair die and then complaining when it doesn't show the number you want. Yeah it sucks, but so do a lot of things. Don't like it? Then stop depositing.

no its not gambling , eu CAN be gambling if you want it to be.

but if you play it right , its not gambling, not at all.

Well, I would agree with that point. But I was addressing the OP, and he clearly is gambling.

I choose last option "has to be tweaked", but

not to tweak it to favorite depositer vs non-depositer but tweak it to make more players "happy"
why have one uber huge incredible ath and not split it up to more smaller hofs that make people happy.

you can make 1 person lucky with one 200k hof, but you could also make 20ppl happy with 10k hofs or even 200 ppl with 1k hofs.. I would love to see loot more spread out.

I also think big loots should depend at least partly on skills/time spend for that profession
(not on depositing or not)

I am not depositing anymore not until MA improve their communication and stop treating the playerbase as garbage, has not to do about the loot.

:lolup::lolup::lolup: WHAT HE SAYS :lolup::lolup::lolup:

Fair or not .... We are customers in this game (and the MA says that this is not a casino) MA is a company.

Everyone knows that all well-functioning company treats its customers according to how good they are against the company.

So this means the better the customer I am the better I will have it and in this case, the more the deposit I make more loot should I get.

There is nothing more to say. :twocents:

The less loot you get, the better the customer you are. ;)

In my opinion, that is the only thing that could be changed. I mean, it would be nice if there were more unlimited items again and whatnot. But that's one of those things that you either deal with or forget about. And it doesn't affect TT return, so it isn't relevant to the OP's question.

something to think about

how many ubers are playing?
how many noobs are playing?
how many hofs do the ubers get?
how many hof do the noobs get?

maybe the percentages of sucess are the same? maybe even the percentages of successful noobs are much smaller but ..

.. if ubers get hofs everybody just thinks "aww well there he goes again" and forget about it
but if a noob gets a hof everybody starts screaming and whining and jumps onto it !

.. just something to think about

The less loot you get, the better the customer you are. ;)

This is precisely why the game has such a bad reputation and it will never be many customers in here who stay here. No matter how many new planets, we may get.

Better loot for depositors, is like supporting gamblers by giving them more money to play with.

How is people that deposit a lot, more entitled to more peds??????

If you can supply one satisfactory answer to that, then i will vote accordingly

Once they leave or stop depositing the game could get a tad dead.

good enough?

I made a little chart about why you don't get good loot.

OK, loot is maybe not *technically* random, meaning it does not use a random() function, because of swedish gambling stuff etc... So it certainly uses some variables, and therefore could be *theorically* explained.

The point here is that, under player angle (not game coding), it is not possible to control it.
If it was, EU would be down for years...
So the "random" you quote was be read as "unpredictable"... ;)

Anyway, this discussion doesn't change the fact that its mechanism is applied the same way on all players and thats ok. :yup:

When looking at my own avatar I for sure would like some more in loot.
But when I exclude it and look at system in general, I doubt we can have
better loot, as it is now.

But thats not true, you can see clearly that the "loot-mechanism" isnt the same for all avatars.

I would rather say that the progress is often quite unique to
every avatar, therefor it's hard to see that the lootmechanism is the same.

Btw, I think they should have a system that do give a bonus for depositers,
but it is quite complex to implement, because you can't have a bonus
for regular ingame features, it can't have a tt-value, and so on.... but at the
same time, it must be a interesting bonus. ;)

about the prediction part.

when you hunt long enough , and cycle enough peds , the system actually gets predictable to some extent.

this is a private chat msg i sent to a soc mate yesterday.

2011-06-05 18:10:54 [TO : BAA - Simon Simpe Szentes] 500 ped hof borde komma snart om jag ska tebaks till 90% lol

( translated : 500 ped hof should come soon if im gonna bounce back to 90% )

then today

Loot and Deposits are unrelated. The loot engine doesn't, and shouldn't, care where your peds come from, only that you spend them.

This is fair, so I voted yes (and I am 4 year player who deposits, has skilled to Combat Sense and Wounding naturally, and I've never had a 1k+ loot).

My advice - pretend tracker doesn't exist and just play, or stop playing if you don't enjoy it. Tracker is quite helpful if you like witch hunts though.

but even still, the depositing players lose out in the long term, i have friends and people in my society who deposit loads and loads and never get big hofs and so on....

Didn't bother to read the whole thread because this comment caused me to pause...

Depositing players DO NOT lose out in the long term if they are wise with their money. It's the players that essentially gamble on the game and do things over their head, and not try to maximize the difference between markup paid versus markup sold that lose money. It's also the people that chase large hofs that lose money. If you do all three, you're screwed.

I haven't deposited in over two years. My largest loot thus far is something like 230 ped. Yet I've been able to play as much as I like (usually about an hour a day) and have INCREASED my ped balance+inventory since my last deposit. Factor in skills and my net worth has nearly doubled.

So while the loot system could certainly use a tweaking, I don't think there should be any preferential treatment for depositors versus non-depositors. If you're not happy with your returns, adjust your play. That's how this game works. YOU adapt to the game, not the other way around...

It would be nice if it was so easy. Everyone loosing money adapt and cut their gameplay also their turnover. Then no one loose and we can all be one happy playerbase right?

No the game needs deposits, and it need too feels like the "paying" customer getting value for their buck, alot say they dont atm, with all the bugs and lack of communication and loot distribution prevent that. We need people spending money.

But yes I am one of those "adapting" atm until things change.

if you do things in the same way you always have , you will get the same result as always.

Omg, no waii!! :eyecrazy:

If only people would stop the jealousy and worrying about what other players do. I know a couple avatars that said they never deposited then admitted to large deposits at beginning to get there.

everyone one of these threads gets started by a player that does not turn over the most ped to start with. How many of these players that call it gambling or random have accurate logs of all tt spending in game vs tt return, or even long enough logs to justify a statistically accurate result?

there are people that lose hundreds a month/week/day. You play at what level you want, if you do not like the level of play you are at change it.

but if it wasn't for depositors paying mu for my stuff, I would have to deposit again. I thank thee depositor and people with crazy theories and buying my mu.

Also people get pissed at big hofs, Had a RL friend start out and hit a 1k+ daikiba early he quit as returns after that ate those peds plus in following few days. He had to pay it back plus, so the early bigger hofs to nubs might not be so lucky after all.

A few people that track there results have shown that big ubbers and even small aths have pushed them back to 90% tt returns. back to jealousy issue people want it all without spending the ped these people are to get the loots.

Try thinking outside the box here, what if the "lucky" avatars getting the big loot are controlled by the land owners them-selves or MA and its a technique by them to get you more excited to keep trying ? What if the majority of the yes votes concerning "is the loot pool fair" actually come from accounts run my MA staffers ? My point is that the question has no merit either way , it is what it is . . . The house wins! We know this because your friends and my firends have been leaving for years because they knew it wasnt fair. One daY MA and now planet partners aka Former MA employess will see the light and change the odds so their balanced but why would they when they can build the game on the backs of their customers? You could argue all business does the same thing and i would agree accept to say atleast the others try to provide good service. If you played years ago when the loot was balanced like i did you would see the huge difference in game play i hope one day its like that again.
