Will we EVER see a solution for 'Avatar already logged on'?

Quite tired to see this issue over and over and over again.
If the issue is at client, maybe it should say something else??
If the issue is at server, maybe time to FINALLY fix the issue, and give us
a log out feature that force the avatar out from being logged in?
For those with a GC, a code is needed.
If it can't find a last known position why not use a list of the major TPs?

EDIT: I can exclude clientproblems at least. :)
EDIT2: Still no solution. :)
EDIT3: 60h now since it happen. Still no solution. Still no reply, but
to be fair, supportcase has only been active since friday evening. :)

Yo may seem to ask an easy feature; but from technical point of view it isn't; trust me
 
The solution is: Log off.

Seriously, its a 20 second process. Relax. Go pour yourself a glass of water.

Ah sorry, I were not so precise in what happened in my particluar case.
I had a LoCo at approx 21.15 18th of dec, I did a suppcase at 17.42 the
19th of dec, still saying I'm logged in.
I guess you two aren't any experienced players so I guess you never had
this issue. :)

1) be more precise; if you got a still logged in from a month ago; I couldn't read it from the OP. And this is something to tell MA over and over again even phone them... Well someone with much experience with the game would :p

2) Well, if almost 4 years ingame doesn't make me a little experienced in entropia; sorry then. For all I know you started in closed beta and even coded a bit of the game yourself; oh wait; then maybe you could code the feature too or atleast phone MA about it :p

I have told them, and they do know about the issue... had this issue
occassionly since 2003... ;)
Reason why I wrote it is that they don't want to discuss things via support.
If we want to discuss something about the system, it can only be done to
other participants, in forum or similar. You should know this by now... :D ;)

I'm terrible in coding, since my memory is anything than good.
Had a friend that were very good in coding, since he had quite high
intelligence (and IQ), and excellent memory. He used to say something like
this, a long time ago:

The difference between a brilliant coder and the rest, is that the rest
spend too much time when they try to find a solution in all kind of
resources, while the brilliant solve the issue... :D ;)

I had that once.

I got kicked out, tried to log back in, got told to wait "one minute" and half an hour later the "one minute" had still not passed.

OK, so it's a bug, but if I try and log back in and get told to come back in a minute, and then a minute later get told the same, and the same again a second minute later, and a 3rdm, and a 4th how hard to code:

"If <avatar relog failed with come back in one minute message count> is greater then 3 then <LOG AVATAR OUT>"

I know coding is not child's play, but then some of the problems should be easy to fix.

Numerical entry boxes on a form that ask for a number between 0 and 9 let you type in a letter 'B' then reject the form when you submit it...

1: Wait for key press.
2. If key press is not 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 then go to line 1.

I is gob-smacked that is is so so hard to reject a key pressing that is not one you want.

Pressing "B" when it has no assigned function for movement does nothing. It's ignored. SO why can it not ignore it when I try to enter "B" in a box expecting a number?

MA can log me out when I am stuck in, so why can't I?

Reason, LOW PRIORITY. :)

Wow. Thats quite a problem, especially since they advertise your character as an "investment." If I was suddenly locked out of my etrade account for a few days I'd be pissed. When it got to the level of a few weeks I'd be sending registered letters via my attorney! :ahh:
 
2,5 years ingame and never had this issue, only when i get disconnected, but then like others said i wait 1 min and i can get back on. Guess im lucky to never have had this issue :cool:

Hope MA gets it sorted for the once that do have it thou :)
 
Where were you when this happened? It has happened to me twice, both times when I had "logged off" at Twin Peaks. I now make sure I tp somewhere else before logging off.
 
is this recent cuz i havnt playe din like a month but wheni last palyed i didint have any issues

It happened yesterday, there were some issues with server.

Doubt I'll get in before monday thou'. So nothing to play this weekend. :D
But can only blame myself since I'm so stupid and keep playing one game.
Obviously time to look for a alternative. :)
 
Sorry to hear you got this problem Joat

Had the same problem one time on the old engine, took MA 3 days to sort it out.

There should be an option to let you log out a avatar via the client
loader or planet calypso site.

First Time

Hi all,
just got this error this morning, first time ever.

Cannot log in at all to game, support sent. Can login to website, but game gives the continued "your avatar is already logged in" message.

Will update when fixed.

Update: I have received a message from Support (it was arond 23:00 yesterday) that my avatar was moved to Port Atlantis, now i can play again :yay:

maybe you sent the case to a different support department...FYI: i sent it under Technical ---> Connection

Hm, good question... I don't remember which one I used.
Maybe I forgot to change to right one. Doubt I would get in faster anyway. :D

Kudos to the support team, they got back to me at 7pm today. All fixed.

Seems everyone except me get in again. :D
Ah well, guess I deserve it, since I never have taken that company seriously.
Wonder why... :D ;) I'm happy they aren't in healthcare business at least. :D

Only annoying thing is that I were about to buy a item in auction.
Not end of the world thou', nothing rare or expensive, but still boring
to miss the trade. :(

Worth a try maybe, I see from earlier you didn't, but I put my request in under Technical - Connection. In fairness they responded pretty quick for a weekend.

It's in same category. :) Guess I have to wait until next weekend to play.
I guess I'll soon Be Far Beyond Crazyness 2. ;)

I guess poor staff at support has some hectic times after all VU/CR...
 
I had this happen to me over a year ago for about a day and another time for about 12 hours. I did a support case each time and they didn't really say anything back to me but I was able to log in later.

Hope it gets sorted fast this isn't a fun feature :mad:
 
21st of feb 09:05, still no solution. Approx 60h since it happen. :D
Interesting to see how much time this will take.
Hope they don't get upset if I use this in other media. :) It is, afterall,
facts.
 
Fallen victim to this feature also. let's see how long it takes before i can login again.

Wow, still not on....can't see how they could do me so quick and not you.
