The 48 hour rule was suggested way back in Round 2, by your good self. Hurrikane, at the time, was opposed to the idea, to deadlines in general. But, not surprisingly you were absolutely right.
The trend prior to the 48 hour rule was for teams to wait til the last day to post their globals. This left the thread about the event a very gaunt, quiet place to be, and made the event itself rather flat.
The rule was announced at the end of Run 3, introduced at the start of Run 4, and featured in the initial post for each Run then and since. It works very well indeed, if you read back through the posts for Runs 4 and 5 you will see that it hugely improved the Viewer Impression of the whole event, and allowed all the teams to see what they were up against. Even when what they were up against was a 20K+ Atrax HoF..
I do regret that you were not aware that your idea had been put into force. Especially now that the event is open to Solo Hunters, it's clear you would be a strong competitor.
I hope this won't dissuade you from submitting globals in the future.
