Haven't used this for a week or so, so thought I'd log on only to be informed that my username or password is incorrect. I haven't changed anything :scratch2:

IM Version: 1.0.1
File Version: 1.0.1.0
Windows: Vista

I think that the server crashed so you have to re-register....thats what i did anyway after having a flick through the announcing entopians thread

I have had this a fair bit recently though I am never sure if it is me who is making a typo in the pw (it is a bit complext to type) but one evening having typed really carefully and slowly after several failled attempts it still said the same and I ended up trying so often it locked me out for over 30 mins. Eventually it did work, would be interesting to hear if anyone else is getting this and is it a UK only thing

Indeed, there was a database crash requiring all members to re-register unfortunately :(

Info was posted in the main Entropians IM thread:

Unfortunately, there was a MySQL database crash on the server where EntropiansIM is hosted (the same Windows server that also hosts EntropiaRadio.com, Entropedia.info and EntropiaTracker.com). Redundant database backups were stored remotely for Entropedia (which has now been restored to service), but not for EntropiansIM sadly :(. EntropiaTracker uses a different database platform (MSSQL), and thus was not affected by the crash.

I regret to report that everyone will need to re-register for the EntropiansIM network. If you have already downloaded the client software, then all you need to do is visit the EntropiansIM Registration Page and sign up again with your desired username. You will then be able to log in to the network as normal.

I apologize for the inconvenience. :ahh: In the future, I will ensure that redundant database backups are made for EntropiansIM to minimize dislocation caused by Windows server updates corrupting the database

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Ah ok, it's just that's such a long thread to wade through to find anything :/

oh good I saw this - have been struggling with it all day :(

HERE we go again :yay:

You can use a separate mysql server on linux to reduce problem. At least database for all those site would be more safe.
