Wtf

Bad kitty BAD!

No no I mean Good kitty GOOD!

Drugs are BAD M'Kay :)

I might have a small problem with catnip, but admitting it is the first step right???? :kos:

I don't ever whine cuz I don't give a fuck, it's play time, fun, money I would otherwise spent on drugs =)

I never been into drugs myself, I prefer the old school method of a quality hit. Getting a pretty girl to sit on my face for 20 minutes does me fine. :tongue2:

If you told him, don't go changing your mind later this evening,......a man don't forget that kind of promise. :wtg:

This one is even better :D

OMG WTF!!! ....

What I never understand is this: Yes, misses happen while hunting and it is built in no matter what your skill level.
my gun says i'm 10/10 on skill. Ok.

But my fap (EK2600) I'm 10/10 on skill for that too, but EVERYTIME it heals 42/42. It never heals less than 42 anymore - ever. so the 10/10 doesn't translate to healing. This sorta doesn't make sense or then I shouldn't be 10/10 for my gun.

Missing is just apart of this game - the problem is each miss actuall "costs" you money. This is unlike any other game and is a hard thing to deal with sometimes. If I miss multiple times in a row - I try and stop shooting for a second, or switch weapons. or use my fap - that hasn't seemed to help much either. I'll get the next hit or 2 in and then get another miss. They seem to come in waves - as do critical hits. When you get 3 crit hits in a row on something it's pretty awesome.

:scratch2:

how do you come to the conclusion that this does not make sense? 10/10 means that you are using the item to its maximum potential.

in a weapon, this means hitting 90% of the time, and missing 10%. that's how the item is designed and it is expected to work

in your example, an ek2600 is designed to heal 42 every time, once maxed. but an UR125 is designed to heal randomly between 60 and 80, once maxed, not a fixed amount every time. that's how the items are designed.

how does this not make sense?

plus FAPs don't crit heal so no reason for it to miss :D

I've always felt that one of the key "benefits" of misses, as well as crits both given and received, is that it adds drama and uncertainty - excitement - to hunting.

A string of misses, and or a rush of incoming crits, and even an only modestly challenging mob has a chance to kill me, or force me into an unexpectedly defensive posture. Conversely, I can sometimes take down too tough a mob - whether I am fighting it by intent or misfortune - with a nice string of crits and/or some timely evade. The old "Thrill of victory and agony of defeat".

The more regular and predictable a fight is, the less interesting and exciting it is. With all the focus placed on economy and mindless grinding, a healthy dose of uncertainty and chaos adds to the hunting experience. Obviously, this could be taken too far - what couldn't - but I think the current balance is fine.

As long as "I" don't miss anymore than "You" - other things being equal - there is nothing lost by missing, it just one of the basic costs of hunting. For all the complaints that hunting is boring, it could actually be much worse. Never missing with a maxed gun would only push hunting in that direction.

I have 3 players i talk on teamspeak.1 of them hasn't deposited in years has 15k peds sitting in storage wins all the time.Another has mining finds all the time globals/hofs & goes hunts same thing & i'm not taking 200 peders more like 600-2k a lot of the time so he basically shits loot.Another started 2 years after me barley deposits mybe 3 times a year same thing 6k loot 12k loot etc.So i belive at the start of the game you avatar is locked into a category you get either good/mediocre/bad loot so for the life of your avatar if your in the bad loot your the poor schmo that pays for the rest & your av is fucked.I'm shure there is lots players that still play or quit will testify to that.

You know what else I hear counts for hunting returns? peds cycled. You say you know some dude who hasn't depoed in years...Why would he if he depoed, bought all the equipment he needs, cycles huge ammounts of ped and so on...nobody gets + on every hunt. they win and loose the same as most people. Some just play smarter then others, hunt for mu, trade, mine when hunting is bad and so on...brains :)
Noobs getting huge ammounts of ped at beggining? I know a few that after that lost it all and depoed...Don;t martirize yourself for playing a gambling game and not hitting the jackpot...

I feel Im getting RIPPED OFF Iv depoed thousands of USD and got F@#K all to show for it WTF. I use guns with SIB bonus and get F$%k all skills WTF. Iv had 8 misses ina row on a gun iv maxed (opalo) WTF.
Congratulations, you just hit a once in a million chance of missing 8 times in a row :). and why would you expect sib guns to give tons of skill? they give same skill they have always given...

this is casino. its impossible to earn here, unless ur one who owns casino :) soo every hunt u get back 90% of spend. easy math. 1000>900>810>and so on as u can see in 3 hunts u lost alread 20% of ur bankroll. But if its 300 hunts?

ive been thinking about this for years also.. having shit looot all the time while my brother in same activities gets good loot all the time..

and after they said that there is no personal lootpool its much clearer that this could be the case... it cant be just "luck" all these years.. maybe just need to roll on new avatars until u hit a jackpot one..

and its not just the big ones.. its the common loot, globals, hofs, ubers, big ubers... he has everything better than me.. would like an explain for that

and we go team hunt the loot goes by my luck.. we do terrible.. after that he goes solo and gets instantly paid back

A gambler's mentality leads to a gambler's results. All or nothing, but mostly nothing.

QFT

I play as an investor and make money (and have fun too btw). I guess play style makes a big difference to returns.

Tyk, given that you play with your brother, have you considered temporarily swapping avatars and seeing if the "luck" swaps with it? I suspect you (the player) will have the same luck you are used to because it is subtle differences in play style that make some people appear "luckier" than others.

Oh, I've generally found team hunting loot sucks too compared with solo hunting loot. The dynamics of the team make it way more complicated to get your head round what the variables are.

They removed personal lootpools evidently so we are all in the same boat so to speak...:(

They removed personal lootpools ...:(

I know this is true as the deposits I have made far far exceed the returns MA has seen to give me. Rather they give my depo's to the same ava's every time. Kinda makes a person want to chip-out and never look back...

ok firstly...

The single most important effort a hunter can make in becoming more efficient in his or her hunting activities is to always use weapons which are “maxed” -- weapons with which your avatar has 10.0 Hit Ability. The importance of this cannot be stressed strongly enough.

This means do NOT use weapons that you're still getting SIB on. In fact unless you are like profession level 100 in hit and dmg you should only be using limited weapons.

Question #1 - How many shots have you had in a row without missing? Kinda funny how people think a "maxed out" gun means 100% hit rate when that's not the case and when they get 30 shots in a row without a miss they don't even give it a second though but miss a few times in a row and MY GOD IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!
If you look at your total average over 1000 - 10,000 shots you'll see your miss rate isn't that bad.

Question #2 - What are you hunting? Do you need to use your fap several times during each kill? If so, you have no business hunting that mob for any length of time.

Question #3 - What armor are you using? Are you using an armor set that is efficient for the mob you're hunting or are you just running out there hunting everything with the same ghost/shogun set? Only use armor sets that protect against the damage type the mob does. If you've got a total of 150 protection towards damage types the mob doesn't even do you're losing a TON in decay costs. Min decay on any armor piece is the total value of all protection types / 100.

Question #4 - A follow up question to #2... what is the HP of the mob you are killing. The mobs total HP and regen rate directly related to your average return and chance to global. IE kill 1000 snables - you've be lucky to global once. Kill 1000 Levi oh I think you'll global a few times.

Question #5 - What is you float? Meaning how many peds are on your card at any one point. Are you going out with 100 - 200 ped in ammo an TTing all your oils and such and starting over? You need to be able to save 1000 peds of each oils and sell at markup to help stretch your peds further. A minimum float of 5000 - 10,000ped is a good start.

Question #6 - What's been your overall strategy to profit while hunting? Have you been trying different things or just throwing peds at doing the same thing expecting different results? (you know doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity?)

Question #7 - Do you have a secondary profession to offset your losses? IE beauty skills, trading, coloring...etc?

All I'm saying is maybe it's not Entropia that needs to change - it's your strategy.

You need to take a break, frustration clouds judgement, when you're on tilt like this you're more likely to make bad decisions and lose peds.

ive been thinking about this few times and also would like to share my avatar with some other players in this game who keep on talking about "smart play" or other shit...

and also considering some of the big loots my bro has got has come from my hint/tip.. its not like i dont try to get those myself its just that i CANT get those.. thats why i tell my bro to try get em

at the moment.. 7 years of mining without tower... last thing was when i mined weeks for treasure in arkadia.. my bro came and dropped 300 bombs and got tower.. + before that he got also 1 claim unamped that was bigger than any of mine with lvl5 amp during this time (oh btw hes hunter with 4 towers... and im miner with 0 towers)

Its not always about what you do, its often also about when you do it. Some people seem to have a 6th sense about the when.

I still think if you swap with your brother, he'll still have the "luck".

Next time make the title of your thread more that "WTF"..made me look..guess that was point right? :eyecrazy:
