Sorry to correct you but red and david are right.
Like red said below to sum up Entropia to three professions is not seeing the full picture.
For example:

Belza pk's at the rig day in and day out gathering oil That'd be a rig closing profession.
Some people do nothing but pvp4 that could be a pvp-loot profession.
Heres some examples:

I Craft oreamps
I Craft tools
I craft weapons.
I craft weapon attachments
I craft armor
I craft components
I Host events
I make entropia movies (technically a profession mccormick has made alot from his movie making skills and won prizes)
I Tame
I Hunt (name mob here)
I'm a CND Miner
I am an Eudoria Miner
I am an amethera miner
I Resell
I run my own shop buying privately then selling for the crafters.
I am making an investment community (mmabigshow and EIF)
I Trade for other people
I offer a medical service for people
I am a pilot.
I am a cp hunter
I am a cnd hunter
I am a socialist who loves to make friends.
I am an explorer, exploring calypso for fun.
hell
I am a dung collector
I am a fruit collector
I am a sweater
I am a Pyrotropy expert
I am a biotropy expert
I am a pyschotropy expert
I am a Land area manager
I am a House decorator
I am a Makeup artist
I am a plastic surgeon
I am a hair dresser
I am a rig closer
I am a pvp4 predator
I am a pvp4 miner
I am a pvp4 hunter
I am an club owner
also
I am a swordsman hunter

Each one requires in itself its own training..
Just cause you mine eudoria doesn't mean your gonna automaticly going be good at mining cnd?
So your a hunter going up to cp for the first time it takes some learning as the mobs up there are different hit faster weird aggro and take different strategy's to do effectively.

Most people like to hunt one or two things
or mine only a few select places.
Some only mine on CND and hunt on calypso.

As of late I am a formidon and Kreltin hunter.

Even though you might of done some or most of these once or twice doesn't mean its not a profession, some people specialize in the stuff. And do it better than your average person saying going to cp.
I couldn't grab a finder and amps and be good as most cnd miners. Even if i had more skill in the (mining profession)

it's like saying I'm a doctor.. A doctor of what?

Their is probably 100 different type of doctors which do you want?
Each has a Specialized profession.

If you say 'I'm a hunter' then you are a generalized profession... one that hunt exo's is in a different class than one who hunts hogglos...

so, saying 'I'm a hunter' is different than saying 'I'm a deer hunter' than 'I'm a boar hunter'... it's really 2 different professions...

tryin to hunt a deer... then try to hunt a boar ;) Tell me it'sthe same thing :p

Hmmm what's this entropria i keep hearing about. Is it the one where I loot bp's from creatures?
 
I did meet John at the event in California a couple of weeks ago and I don't think I would call him a salesman. He is much more a Rep than a salesman. He is very excited about entropia and that is what you need to be a Rep imo.

As far as the 100s of professions I have to agree that there are many more than just a few IF you are not talking generally. All people that hunt argos only are in fact hunters BUT all hunters are not argo hunters. If one is speaking generally then yes there are only a few profession, however in RL I don't think you would say a furiture builder and semstress are the same. In game they are both crafters but imo have different professions. Just like minning for gold and iron in Rl is much different but they are both called miners. ANd really, doesn't this game mimic RL pretty well ?
