MA's Response to LG 2006

I just want to make on thing clear, I am not against compensations, its these particular compensations im agains.. I would prefer if there had been 5 additional Areas made and given to these soc´s (which could be sold after the 6 months period), its better since it doesnt harm other players.. i still think its to much tho.. but it would be alot better in my eyes since the battle for the last 6 would still be on
 
Witch hunt . Dam i bet they drop less than 50% average also.

Who was attcked by who when it happened?
What soc that was attacking was not typing wtf ffs and $@#@&@##& ect ect.
what soc came in after somone just logged out.
Seems as clear as the lootpool who what how and of course why $

Unless Mindark enforce the RULES hard across the board all the time.They will continue to push the rules around and we can expect more.
 
It’s a rather sad story reading about the use of autoclickers in an event as LG. A lot is on stake, both personally for the individual avatar, as it is for the whole society who undertakes the struggle of claiming and defending, and if succeeded you get the reward of having the land for 6 months.
Much has been said on this issue, and I guess it will be brought up in coming LG in the future.

Cheating inside PE is nothing new, and we respond very hard on scammers who try to scam people of their possessions. I don’t see any much difference in cheating using an aoutoclicker in an LG event, where you try to refuse the rightful owner of their possession.

It also reviles the lack of morality among certain people and the concept playing PE within the rules. The obvious fact, and I have no doubt MA giving out information without checking, is that the cheaters lives among the participating societies.

A LG event has to be fare and be played by the rules. If we can’t play by the rules – and such problems occur I other LG events - I hope MA stop with LG. It only put a lot of frustration and blaming in the air, and that is not good for participating societies and avatars. Also the interest and the future of LG is on stake, where I see a lot of conflicts and mishaps will be blamed on aoutoclickers in the future.

To sum it up, if we can’t play by the rules, LG is dead, and after this 6 months I hope MA take away what could have been an interesting event twice a year. We are not ready and mature yet to play LG withing the rules.

They would be the secondary delay ava's to keep La fresh.

Inittial ones would be the soc first comming in to upset the apple cart enabaling them to claim.
Knowing when the trouble would start exactly would give them the uperhand.

Bann al those players for life all equip etc will be lost. Any LandGrabArea in possesion of that society can be put back in the last phase. Problem solved.

MA need some time in gathering any evidence but there will be more for sure. I only hope we don't get people spreading rumors but fact's from MA. Close the withchunt as soon as posssible.

Right now we have a witch hunt.

By telling us who the cheaters were, we would NOT have a witch hunt. We would know who the guilty were. There would be clarity.

Anyway, i'm just splitting hairs.

And while i'm at it another thing.

Why not publicly humiliate them? That's what I do to botters. Make an example out of them :) The only reason I can think of not to would be because you don't wanna lose those deposit dollars. Maybe I'm not smart enough to think of another reason... Maybe you can enlighten us?

IRL society when you commit a crime your name can be published in the newspapers, magazines, on television... (at least where I am from, and most other countries afaik). Now we will have a witch hunt with people trying to spot who has, unusually, not logged on for a while...
 
Thats Viagra Falls corpse and just to add to the mystery the lag started just as he teleported to the claim.I remember because i ran over to kill him but kept rubberbanding back.

Is he the guilty party?...i dont know but whatever the case we have our first witch BURN HIM..BURN HIM....lol

Who was near cK's first claim when their claim rod went nuts? Who was at LA 5 in phase 2 when Blanco from Ex Cons was clicking like mad before the claim expired but lost it anyway?

Yes, that is my corpse.

I did the exact same thing during the last phase of LA-1 (M2S's claim). I tried watching the action from afar, but got shot every single time. I removed my clothes and all equipped weapons, and went in yelling I was friendly and just there to report, but got blasted nevertheless.

So I just TP'd as close to the claim as I could, allowed them to kill me, and I'd stick around. Every so often I'd type something to ensure I would not be disconnected due to inactivity (I am sure CC saw some OoOoOoOoOoOo's in chat).

I really wouldn't have had to do that had I be using an AC.

But sure. Speculate away.

Nice one MA. By not releasing names, they now came up with one themselves. Quite conveniently it is someone critical of MA. My my. One wonders how much more perfect this could have been.
 
What's fair is fair - but this "solution" by MA by any stretch is not fair. We all take risks in this environment but compensating some for the risks they took is ultimately unfair to others that take the same risks especially when there is no clear cut way of knowing the outcome. Who's to say that some other soc's didn't have some chance at those same areas. Noobs can get ATH's so why couldn't some of the non-uber socs have had that possibility of getting lucky and holding on to one of the areas if the LG would have worked properly. MA is telling us that the only ones that can hold a LA is an uber soc! Everyone got screwed in this LG - so the only proper thing is to call it a no decision and replay - you know kinda like offsetting penalties.
 
If ! it was ghost's It's highly unlikley somone with a name would be used.

Its all a conspiracy by MA to come back in 6 months and say that 'since Land Grab is not working as we intended we have decided to allow societies to have shared ped accounts and BUY these land araes'. Start bid at 1 ped and no buyout. It fits well with where PE is headed.... MA dont tell us anything except there is more to come... Nothing is earned, its all bought these days.

Masshysteria....wich hunt...you name it. Atm im embarrased for some of the reactions on theese forums. They stopped putting people/criminals on open display back in the 19:th century if you didnt know.

Although i quoted you Duck im not pointing my finger at you personal. Just reflecting over alot of bloodthirsty post ive gone through in this thread.

Why didn't they take the lands gotten unfairly by the offenders and given them to the soc's done wrong? They are not punishing the cheaters; they are punishing us because the chance to try for these last 6 areas has been taken from us. These aren't the only socs that were over there and got screwed by this "auto clicker" problem, just the ones in good favor with MA.

The whole thing stinks! MA clearly got an all time high in dung!:mad:

Ok I appreciate MA has taken some steps to solve the issue, I also believe you are taking note of all the posts here Marco and I sincerely hope that MA will make the best possible to aleviate our concerns...

However, it's a shame that you as MAs Community relations officer had nothing else to say about this than that you have taken action agains the suspects ( I appreciate the tone of that answer actually, so here's a positive note ) and this other one sentence above. I understand that you probably have instructions not to disclose anything else but the official statements but then I would say you should stay away from these boards. If however you want to interact with the community and truly relate with us ... , the it would be only fair if you picked up some of our concerns and said something about it. Everyone here is happy everytime you say something of value to the community and I can assure you that it would be greatly appreciated if you would maybe engage in the discussions around our views more actively. You don't have to always quote MA policy but maybe sometimes also state some personal opinions and give us an insight into how MA works, reacts to this kind of problem. I believe you once mentioned that you'd try to spend more time with community relation work if I recall right, so why don't u do it ? Posting random answers to selected questions to enforce an MA statement and ignoring all the other concerns of the community will only make u a Press release Officer... not a Community "Relations" person ...

I'm not trying to argue over you, I'm trying to help u touch base with us so we can make PE a better place, we're PE, we are your community, so listen to us... it's free market research. ;)
 
Yea. people have been saying things like this to Marco for years now.

Recently Marco posted about how he was too busy to talk with us, but now he may have some new additional employees to help him with some of his other duties. He said that this would enable him to be more active with the community... I'm not sure what happend with that.

Maybe he's still training his new slaves ;)

I think MA's problem here is that they have failed to make a definitive statement about autoclickers in the past. We don't know their reasons for this - maybe partly because they generated revenue for them and also perhaps because of concerns over RSI in certain click-intensive areas of the game.

Whatever their reasons, if they now named the cuplrits and banned/deleted their items as some ppl suggest they would really have to do this retrospectively for every player who has ever used a clicker for whatever reason. Not only would this result in a very long list of people but they would also be criticised for retrospective action which is generally frowned upon (retrospective legislation, for example, is not permitted in many countries).

Maybe it's time they did make a definitive statement so that their hands are not tied if such problems occur in the future.

Aboult LG and autoclickers - BS or not?

Let me explain.
try to forget for a sec all other LG issues and return to phase 1. Lag, rubberbanding and all that crap started AT LEAST 30 mins BEFORE originally set time. At least that was what we expirienced @LA2. And then we got announcemnt that due to some problems LG postponed bla-bla. So I think that all "autoclicker lag" is total BS. MA just found some reason to blame some players in own mistakes.
And they made a very wise step - now everyone thiking that Riga team were using autoclickers, we got 3 good lands, we cheated bla-bla. And noone actually try to figure out what happened.
So let me say a few words from our point of view:
-from information I have in my possesion none of Riga tema members were using autoclickers during LG. I couldn't log in due to megalag, Max Ziepniks was caught in one position away from claim for some 30 mins, Morse and Honorman were both near revival. And HunterZ, who was only team member possible to move around and was near claim swear he wasn't using autoclicker. I know this dude for many years and i believe him.
-so I have no idea what happened during claiming process and I call all insults from anyone about us cheating total bullshit untill MA make public any proove that we did.

For LG phase 2 we hopefully don't have any problems. Exept that we kicked Ex-cons's asses 2 times lol (with invaluable help from our friends and not-so friends:)) And basically this is reason for them bitching around forum.

I think most of know its typical MA bullshit. They screwed up and used the clicker stuff to make a smoke screen and divert attention away from them. A clicker might have been used but I doubt it was the casue of this all.

Remember last year for part 2 of land grab? CC, cK, Warants and WT couldnt claim for first 10 mins... it was so others would finish thier claim first and those socs couldnt kick them off becsaue thier claims were still going on.

MA are smart enough to build this fantastic universe we all love. They are smart enough to anticipate clickers. They screwed up and sent the community into a blame game witch hunt.
 
Im am growing increasingly frustrated now with MA's decision not to release the names of the cheaters, as now I have been accused by more than one person of being a cheater.

Marco, would you please reconsider your descision not to release the names of the real cheaters in light of the fact that people are having their reputations tarnished over this?
 
i dont mind if MA decide not to release the names, thats thier call, and i would prolly prefer to do things privatly too

but thats not the issue

and neither is autoclickers

these have got in the way of the real issue imo and that is:-

if someone cheated to get a la, why are they allowed to keep it?

i cannot remember another exploit being abused in a way that the powers to be decide that the GUILTY ppl can keep the LA that they cheated thier way to, and ruining everyone elses LG experiance at the same time

someone mentioned earlier in the thread that if the AC thing is true then that would be seen as a Denial Of Servie Attack

if i launched a DOS attack on my bank with the view to extort funds from them, then i would be very suprised if afterwards they told me to keep that cash i cheated them out of

.. but thats whats happening here imo

a LA is very valuable in the game, and a privatly sold one could go for a lot of $, so why let the guilty ppl have it?
i can only see 2 reasons that this would happen

scenario 1 -
there is no guilty party and so noone to actually pin the blame on, so this is a smoke screen

scenario 2 -
if members of uber soc's decided to leave over this then there would probably be large withdrawls happening, and if more than one member left over this then there would be a need for MA to find a huge lump of cash to pay these ppls withdrawls

i know these are cynical views but i honestly have a problem seeing another reason that the guily ppl get to keep thier land
 
senario 3 -

The persons who used the clickers were in a society that did not claim land, or was comped land.
