Hi
I would suggest MindArk to try an Experimental Test of 2-3 months, during which -regarding clothes decay- only shoes and Shades (and maybe also hats) have no decay.
Reason :
the market of those items is quite dead,
not to mention the fact that many people go around shoeless (including me) or with economic/plain boring outfits (no sunglasses, no hats) because of the fact that when you wear an armor you have to remove certain clothes (shoes+shades+hats), and you have to pay for decay when you wear them again.
I guess that this (old) idea by MindArk produced more damages than profits.
Also, by this change we will improve the general visual appearance of our outfits, and this will have another positive impact on the attitude of the Player Community.
Here is the possibility to create a more colorful and good looking Player Community.
No more shoeless, half-naked or "vagabond-looking" Avatars : instead, an "I-Want-to-Be-a-Part-of-It" , nicely outfitted and good looking Player Community
Let's try, MindArk. A reasonable experiment of 2-3 months, and we will see the positive outcomes
Enjoy
Paul

Update 1, February 9
By reading the comments in Page 2, I have added this possible evolution of my original idea :
I agree, let's make it possible to wear shoes, shades, and possibly also hats, with an armor on : this is a possible alternative to my original idea.
An experimental test of some months (without telling people precisely how long it will last, just "some months") to let MindArk evaluate the impact of the change:
and, as realistic consequences of this, a more colorful, various and creative Player Community, willing to spend for many interesting outfits. And much less "vagabond looking" Avatars wandering around

Update 2, February 10
Right, an interesting remark for MindArk.
Let's say that when i wrote "I agree, let's make it possible to wear shoes, shades, and possibly also hats, with an armor on: this is a possible alternative to my original idea",
I intended it as a simple "escamotage" to remove the decay of shoes+shades+hats currently induced by the use of an armor, without any graphical changes to the current system.
In other words: when shoes+shades+hats will be equipped together with an armor, only the armor will be displayed, while those items won't appear at all.
And, like now, hats will be shown only when wearing armor faceguards, and NOT shown when wearing helmets.

By reading the comments in Page 2, I have added this possible evolution of my original idea :
make it possible to wear shoes under the armour
the decay isn't too noticeable and some way to make clothes deteriorate should be kept I think.

I should chime in a "be careful what you wish for", because most of us who've played the game for more than a few years can remember how certain armors would get bugged when worn over top of certain other clothing items. Lots of humorous graphical glitches occurred
