up fellas!

My system should be capable of driving PE in 60+ fps on ultra, yet in some zones (well Twin doesnt even count) i get around 25-35 fps even when i lower the view distance and/or shadows.. System is:

AMD Phenom II x4 970 (OC:ed to 3,70 GHz)
XFX Radeon HD 6950 ( 1325MHz Memory clock and 840MHz Core clock)
16 gb RAM 1333MHz
850w PSU

Anything else you need to know, just ask.

A very generic answer from a me as I am not a total tyech geek but I am in the middle of making a system so been doing some research on 'puter components lately.

It seems the Phenoms have had bottlenecking in a lot of benchmarks.

I chose Intel's Sandy Bridge i7s because of this.

May or may not be the reason why in your case....I guess you could recheck you OC settings, maybe something clashing there?

What motherboard?
What resolution?
Same results with default clocks on CPU?
What about temps? cpu cooler? AMD's underclock on high temps for self protection.
Did you try with only 8Gb of RAM? OCs are usually more stable with less ram.
Try moving your GPU to another PCI-E slot.
Windows 7? Vista? latest patches/drivers?

There u go.

What motherboard?
Gigabyte 990x something something, not sure and im not home so i cant check

What resolution?
1920x1080

More FPS when OCed, But on default clocks i still get these spikes

What about temps? cpu cooler? AMD's underclock on high temps for self protection.
Normal temp readings, dont have the exact number in my head (Arctic cooler freezer pro 7 rev2)

Yup. no difference

Try moving your GPU to another PCI-E slot.
Havent tried this

Windows 7? Vista? latest patches/drivers?
Windows 7, Latest drivers

It's not you, it's the game. Been like this for years. Certain areas/objects are just resource hogs.
