Do plates take 0 damage if monster doesn't have the attack type?

I got adjusted pixie so I don't take decay vs drones with my 6a plates. Can I leave them in if I fight argo and they won't take decay?

if the armor/plates doesnt protect you for their type of dmg, it wont decay any.

so essentially, if they are "dummy" plates, they wont decay. and therefor u can keep them on.
