Looking for some wisdom on why I am unable to edit the first post of my own thread.

The edit button has gone the way of the dodo. Is there a limit to the number of edits that can be made or the age of the post?

The post in question is the Sweat Gatherer Hall of Fame List (Sticky Thread) - which needs an update.

Hopefully a fix will be found as those sweaters can turn feral if recognition isn't provided.

Thanks,
Chaz.

i know there is a time limit but forget what it is... maybe 2yrs?

Hi Chazlow, there is a time limit of 4 yrs to edit any post.

The practice here is to:
1. Create a new thread with a similar title ... eg 'XYZ (Part2)'. Include in the opening post a link to the old thread, and indicate that it's a continuation of the topic of the earlier thread.
2. Place a final post in the original thread, including a link to the new thread, and indicating that discussion will continue from that post. This will also alert anyone who is subscribed to the old thread, so they can update their subscription to the new thread.
3. Ask a mod to close the original thread to prevent further posting, and swap the 'stickyness' over if appropriate.
