Entropia Central - little bit of everything

Hey, definitely at some point. Originally i didn't plan it because of UE5 incoming, I don't know if they will change the whole map or how.

Currently all my little free time i got i put into the tracker. After that there is a long list of bug fixes and pending features to release.
Makes sense. The priority list look right 😁. I'll PM you... maybe I can help.

I think that's a good call. I suspect there will be massive changes. Thanks for all your great work on EC!

All services will be down probably for the night, until I set up everything on the new server.

Sorry for the inconvenience - land owners should have the backup option enabled in the tracker in case they want the globals preserved, I will restore missing globals for Calypso area myself.

WOW. How is it I just found this. Awesome work.

Hi @Sulje I tried to register around half an hour ago but the email has yet to come through and yes I checked spam. Incidentally, you talk a lot of concerns over hacking, are you hashing and salting the passwords?

Hey, I verified it manually. The server is incapable of sending emails, due to sendgrid being cheap.

As for the passwords, I am not quite sure they are even possible to decode, but since it's a hobby project, I have to let people know to take care of their credentials, you should never use same password twice, that's bare minimum.

Thanks will check the verification.

On the passwords, possibly/probably not possible to decode. However a lot of people take a hash of a password and then hash what it typed in during a login attempt (sometimes only the hash gets sent) and the authenticator compares the one stored against the one sent. It's a one way process so should be secure however what hackers do is create or utilise tables of speculative plaintext passwords and their generated hashes. When a site gets compromised, if there was no salt (extra stuff to change the hash - also stored) applied to the stored password hashes, the hackers can do a reverse lookup against what has been found against their tables and, if they get a hit, they get the plain text password. If salt is added, this attack can't be used against a compromised site.

Obviously a site needs to be compromised first, and folks need to be using a common or known password for success to be had but, you know... stuff happens, hence the question about the storage. BTW absolutely not a criticism at all. Simply curiosity. I expect most hobby projects don't worry too much about security at first [I know I haven't yet with my - unfinished - thing] as most concerned with simply getting something out there and working.

So I got in now, and generated an API key, but it looks like it can only be used with your tracker app @Sulje to add data to the DB? Doesn't seem to be any API documentation around how to read the data. Fair enough if you want to keep it in your own ecosystem (fairly certain Entropia Life does this too) however your comment about web sockets sorta implied you were actively supporting sharing of the data in a machine readable form to other projects.

Or is reverse engineering the site the only way to get the data? Sorry if I missed something

Thanks for any explanations

Ah never mind I found the data source I was looking for :clap:thanks for that - very easy to use! I think it has potential!! Will see what I can think of in due course.

Much appreciated!

Criticism can only make the stuff better :)

Don't hesitate to call me on discord if you need help with setting up.

I gave you the role so you are able to add/edit content if you wish

Thanks but think I have what I need now. Essentially got something like 2 ends of "the problem" (maybe the task?) and need to join them up now and see if anything actually useful comes out of it. You know how it is when you have an idea, but not sure if it's going to be practical/actually useful, unless you try it.

@Sulje
Hello i just registred to the app! now i need the confirmed Email... i know you got the problem about that!

Entropia Central tracker 2.0 is now out on Microsoft Store! Please note that to use it unfortunately you have to re-register at entropiac.com, and get the new API key.

I will kill the entropiacentral.com once all data is transferred to the new setup. Some useful links:
Data browser (now updates live, even respects the filters you put in) -> https://entropiac.com/tracking
Registration link -> https://entropiac.com/register

2.0 tracker has some new features such as daily timers, loot tracking, combat logging, etc... I will add more stuff if anyone things it might be useful.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns or questions.

EC will always remain free, and allow anyone to access all data at any time. Hope this will help land area owners activate their lands a bit, and community to enjoy more sophisticated and more rewarding events.

Wow, loving the new site and re-registered! Great job!

Absolutely phenomenal work.

Nice tool, overlay bar kinda big tho, would be nice if it was possible to resize it.

Why are you getting rid of the entropiacentral.com domain? entropiac.com is kinda.... kacky?

BTW I keep finding the trade tracker has had no updates for 2 days... is the number of people running the client dying off? or do you think that's because of your switch over and folks not moved yet?

Kacky :D

I can keep one in the future, also you can find data here https://entropiac.com/tracking/trade

As everything is getting moved to new system

OK looking at entropiac.com I can see live updates coming in but entropiacentral.com is showing 2 days ago. My code is hooked to the old site... I guess I could try the new one and see if it still works...

OK changing the URL worked with the hyphen removed. Guess I should stick with that in the future?

Is your plan to make entropiac the domain in the future and shut down entropiacentral? or is it that you'll move the entropiac code to entropiacentral eventually once it's a bit more solid?

I'm having an issue too. I'm not seeing updates on the avatar performance page. I've installed and re-installed the API, what might I be missing?
