How to turn off annoying sound when killing

Is there a way to turn off that annoying chirping sound when you kill something?

If you go into the options menu, select 'Interface' then check "Disable Loot Window" this might help.

Thanks, though this just give me another kind of chirping sound and window I have to close.

If you disable the loot window, you do get another type of sound - yes. Though I think it's slightly less offensive than the loot window sound. However, you shouldn't have to manually close anything down? The loot shows up in the top-left corner for a few seconds before fading away on its own?

I prefer this as it shows the loot value more easily as well.
