Install from old Client Loader

I haven't logged into EU since 13 August, so I it appears
that I will now have a massive upgrade to process before
playing again.

I was reading about the fun people had with the early
downloads, and was wondering if the old client program
is running into problems with this massive upgrade?

Also, to anyone that didn't do the pre-downloads how
long did it take for EU to upgrade itself. If it is too many
hours, I will just leave it overnight, if there isn't too many
prompts requests to continue the process

If you mean the patching to the "new" client that has to be downloaded then I do not remember the couple patches taking long at all. Under an hour IIRC. A patch came out today, but I have not patched because I am at work. From what it looks like though people we getting patched pretty quickly.

If you mean the old client. Well you cannot use it. You have to download the newer one.

* Also suggest if you still need to download the new client to download it from EF here. Link should be up top on the forums. I have ehard it is faster than the torrent.

I launched the old client and it simply said something to the effect of "you can't use this" and opened up EU's webpage to download. I did not use the torrernt, but instead downloaded the six files individually. It took me about 2 hours, I would guess, to do the downloads and then about 20 minutes to install. Not a big deal at all imo.

Thanks, exactly the information I was looking for I will probably
download 3 of the 6 files tonight

Will the new client request the files that the pre-downloaders had
problems with, or will I run into same issues? I do see one of the
issues covered on the download page;

To avoid having troubles with the installation it is recommended to
first download and install vcredist_x86.exe from Microsoft.

I guess I will find out in a couple days when I'm ready to install
this beast

Then, all my attempts to download the 1st file came up with
rediculously low speeds. (anywhere from 2 -17 hours for a 650K
file) I was using the main Entropia Universe site to attempt
these downloads. Is there a better option, with faster speeds?

Otherwise, I guess I will be out of EU for a bit

DELETE/KILL IT ALL! I recommend uninstalling it yourself and deleting the mindark folder too, since everything is now useless.
