I had no clue about ANYTHING when I started didn't know anyone* who played, and never heard the name Entropia before that very day.(thanks kanallokal for making me addicted )
So went for a female as they tend to look better in my eyes then other males

As Jimmy touched on, running a female avatar really made me realise just what a$$holes men can be to woman sometimes - but it's always fun to see how fast they recoil and hide back in there shell when you tell them ur male irl.

A friend of mine used to do that even though she actually was a female irl, more effective than mace and a taser together.

When I created my character late in 2005, the models for the males looked blocky and "doughey". I found the female avatars more appealing in the sense that their proportions were better and their choices for hair styles looked better.

Furthermore, knowing nothing about the game at the time, I had hoped a female avatar might give me an edge in PvP as my opionion is that males tend to underestimate females, and when they get "pwned" by them, it hurts more!
