In category 1, with a top profession of 18, I killed a cornundacada stalker and the mission reset me into category 4 and stopped recording cornundacada kills. I abandoned and retook the mission and started over, killed a cornundacada prowler with the same result. I logged out and filed a support ticket.

Pretty much my story as well. I have a ticket filed. I'm not logging back in until I hear something either from the ticket or through the forums.

I was really excited about this too. :(

Same thing happened to me

I am having the same issue, I killed a few Corns and it sent me to cat 4. No more kills being recorded in for corn kills.

I have it as well.. no one responding.. i tried retaking the mission and it repeated same error. Basically they will need to call off the contest and refund the participants as we had to pay for an advertised event we can't partipate in or face fraud charges. Its pretty funny the gas station down the road has to have attendents 24/7 but a many multi-million dollar gaming company doesn't during the biggest event of the year

lol the entitlement generation

I don't think it works that way. Also, there was no fee to enter the event, and this is a pay-what-you-want MMO, basically.

Just hold your horses and see what the response from MA/FPC is.

wow that sux, i hope this is not widespread. im in cat 2 and everything going smooth so far.

its like holding a raffle and not letting some compete for the prize even though they paid for a ticket..there is an entry fee...u can not particpate for free.. and there were time limits given.. i did not dictate the time. they did i did not dictate the rules, they did.. i was given a choice this is true and once i decided to partipate as of now i have been deprived of my time.. my money and any fun i might have had, i coerced my wife into helping me out and she spent a a few weeks of her time just for this event, so she could help me and i spent money on her gear. If the problem would have been resolved quickly i would have forgotten about the whole issue by tommorow , I have wasted time and money on something that was advertised to me and rules were given that i have followed so yes i feel "entitled" to at minimum a quick responce and now 5 hours later much more than that

yeah the same thing happened to me too and i would have to agree pipeboy i sold a set of nemesis to enter the comp and now i might not even be able to enter, im not happy at all, just hope they get back to us soon and fix the prob so we can start and have some fun:))

It's triggered by some level of maturity I think. I also am in category 1 and was doing ok after a few kills....maybe 5 kills. The 6th kill was a stalker and that's when it said I'd killed something outside of my category. It bumped me up to cat 4. Annnnoooooyyyying.

Its not the maturity. FIrst one I killed was an OLD and I got the message.

Support ticket submitted. Guess I try again tomorrow.

i played today for 6 hours in cat2 killing a large range of feffs maturities and have had no problems

im at cat3 and it dont work.

this is just MA/FPC´s way to control who is to win the event :)

Wait till you hear back from support about this, as the CLient Loader states the following regarding the rules:
Don’t forget to get the mission! You can get the mission up until the last minute of the competition, but if the mission is not active before Jan 8th, we cannot track your kill points and you will not participate in Merry Mayhem.

Do not abandon the mission! If you abandon the mission, you forfeit all kill points that you have collected. You can get the mission again, but your kill points are reset and you have to start over again. Even worse, you will have wasted valuable online time.

RULES

To participate, get the mission “Mayhem 2010” from Carl Tucker in Port Atlantis. You can get the mission from Dec 21st, but no kills will be registered until the event opens on Dec 26th. If you do not have this mission, you will not participate in Merry Mayhem! If you abandon this mission, you will lose your participation in Merry Mayhem and forfeit all kill points, even if you get the mission again!

I started this mission almost 2 hours ago... approximately 18:00 EU time. Killed a bunch of 'cauda 20 -30 then I killed a prowler and they are all bugged.

logged out and filed a ticket. Now I am waiting for a response. I am a noob, so i am just now finding out about MAs reputation for really bad CS... too dam bad i am just finding this out now, ... I guess i'm going to go to forums first for any new game I might start playing if EU doesn't work out for me, which is the way it is starting to look.

18 hours after the event started, there is no message on the game loader warning of this bug? That's PATHETIC !

I started a different thread and suggested that MA cancel the event for CAT I and give everyone that started it a consolation prize of significant value. I'd like to hear what you think of that idea.

Maybe with enough support, Ma can be moved in that direction, though I don't know if MA is a company that can be moved by it's player base or not.

dang. that's f'd

As I have stated in your thread earlier,
1. FPC not MA running this
2. PCF is the main medium of communication as the Community Manager is an Admin here, whereas the CL isn't
3. Canceling the event will destroy people's efforts killing Cornun who have not been affected by the bug
4. Consolation prizes are not necessary and many people in Cat.1 have killed under 10 Cornun, so "rewarding" them significantly is plain stupid
5. I forgot to mention in your thread that Cat.1 is not the only Category that had problems

There you go. :)

eam "Merry Mayhem Siam" killed a creature (Scipulor Alpha) with a value of 66 PED!
Team "Merry Mayhem Siam" killed a creature (Scipulor Guardian) with a value of 54 PED!
You have gained experience in your Inflict Ranged Damage skill.
You have gained experience in your Marksmanship skill.
Entropia Universe time: 2010-12-26 20:15:38
Session time: 00:01:58
Matteo Michella Miky manufactured an item (Simple I Plastic Springs) worth 79 PED!

What people have done so far is irrelevant. It's what people have put into it in terms of time and money.
Who cares if someone who doesn't "deserve" a reward get one? good for them everyone gets lucky sometimes.
it's better PR to NOT SCREW PAYING CUSTOMERS.
Extending the deadline or changing the mission start time does nothing for me and many others. Who cares if they give away virtual items? guess what,... they make 'em out of thin air ! and giving all of CAT I participants something would not be a big enough infusion of loot to alter the EU economy at all.

Why should a company not make it's customers happy about a bad situation and shoddy QA? especially when the solution wouldn't actually cost anything in terms of actual inventory or even Cost anything except for a couple of depo's down the road. They've already reaped the rewards of the deposits made to prepare for the event.

If I am not mistaken you are talking about Cat.1 not Cat.4 (or w/e has Scips). Also your exert from chat log provides no new information.
And of course , if some people are getting lucky all the time other aren't getting the same luck, likely the exact opposite. The PR with Entropia Universe isn't exactly too positive with the large gaming communities anyway, FPC have done something fair, they have attempted to fix the bug (which has been in most cases), which in my opinion was the best thing.

They may make the items out of thin air, but the value is all too real. Just like your PEDs are all too real.
Say, those were made out of nothing, they could disappear and it wouldn't matter, would it? You money transfer can be labeled a donation and the PED you received was an incentive for donating more money. I'm also sure there are enough Cat.1 participants to make a rather large shift on the Entropia Universe economy.

The company also has no obligation to make it's customers happy. That is something that customers want, to be happy. Companies make them happy for more income, it isn't necessary. Your solution would actually impact their financial books as it would put down expenditure and I'm sure there would be a few withdrawals made form the money handout.

Now, that's what I have to say about your post. I hope you find it completely logical as that is what was intended in its writing. If you have problems with the way it has been written, please inform me.

excerpt was for time stamp. I had just killed a 'cauda and I am still bugged. You wat to keep bouncing between 2 forums? I'll just stay here in my thread from now on. you make some valid points, so do i, i think

companies do not have to make their customers happy,... it's just good business. Gamers especially have proven themselves to be willing to pay for bad product and service time after time.

without game census figures it's impossible to say how many people would get rewarded,.... how about this ===>

only the people that actually caught the bug get the consolation prize? That would seem fair to me, then the diploma killers don't get ridiculous luck, and for the most part you have to be able to kill a prowler or a stalker to get the bug, so that subset of the EU population has got to be fairly small.

players 1-24 able to kill a cornundacauda prowler or stalker that participated in the MM event and caught the bug by killing a 'cauda stalker or prowler all get a consolation prize.

Ideas develop over time and debate,... I think that is much more fair and reasonable than my original ideas of rewarding everyone and canceling the event.

I'll stay in the other thread from here on out

That excerpt said nothing about you still being bugged.
Also I'd like to point out this isn't your thread here.

People who still currently have the bug should have something, yes. And killing a Prowler/Stalker Cornun isn't that hard to be honest. Maybe Pixie and a semi-decent rifle.

players 1-24 able to kill a cornundacauda prowler or stalker that participated in the MM event and caught the bug by killing a 'cauda stalker or prowler all get a consolation prize.

The only consolation that they should ultimately receive is their ammo back and extra time to kill the mobs in their category.

Sorry for assuming you'd have time to participate in the extra 24hrs.
Also the reason I quote is for the benefit of readers and to point out what I responding too in particular.

You aren't the only other person reading here. :)
