Thanks for this info.
I found the chapter 1 and 2 about as fast as you did.
But after 5k kills on chapter 3 and 4 I also gave up, thinking maybe another time.

But after reading this, screw the horns and the 3% reload.
It would be far cheaper to just buy a very good seasonal ring then to kill 50k+ shubs.
Extremely boring mob, boring loot and totally depressing to keep hunting them in those bloody caves.
It's just to mentally unhealthy to do that!

It took me 35k kills to get chapter 4 from Shubs. Definitely worth it. The other 3 chapters i looted in the first 2 days on Monria.

The chapters drop during a wave, they are not related to your actual killcount.
Below is my sample for chapter 4 which i lootet 30 times in a million shubs killed - each datapoint shows aprox total kills when a chapter dropped:
9.7k/29.4k/65.3k/74.8k/100.6k/101k/102.9k/123.4k/146.1k/147.6k/155k/168.6k/318.2k/353.4k/474.7k/528k/544k/549k/565.2k/681k/751k/792.4k/797k/816.4k/854.6k/895.5k/896.7k/917.1k/961k/961.6k
As you can see i have managed to loot it within as little as 400 kills and as late as 155,000 kills.
And yes i TTed the spare ones.

What would be the best "tactic" for this then? Do more smaller hunting sessions or better to do less, but longer ones? I know noone can provide 100% true response, but I'm interested in opinion of more experienced players than me in this case as I'm still a nab :)

From my experience the mid to highlvl versions of each mob type seem to provide the best chance to drop a chapter when the wave passes provided you can kill them at sufficient speed to get multiple chances in. I have found this true for all chapters not just chapter 4.
While in the million shubs i have killed about 80% where below lvl30 - i got 26 of 30 chapter 4's from shubs above lvl30. 1 drop was from shub niggurath herself.
It is usually a good idea to try for chapters when there is less competition around.

Some globals and a fat loot. all in all loot is over ammo so far and Skills went up from 230980 to 232.600
