Hello there, ive recently come back to Entropia with a new account and a change of playstyle in mind, and ive decided i wanted to try out crafting/trading.

I've deposited some cash, and i started buying cheap lysterium and oil, to make basic filters because i read somewhere that it is a good way to start raising the skills needed later on. the question is when do i stop crafting basic filters and move on to something else? i figured i'd raise my QR on the blueprint to 100 and then switch? is this a good way to go or should i change to something else?

I want to be able to craft many different catagories of items later on when i've progressed, but im quite interested in doing vehicle crafting.

is there any advice you can give to a Crafting/Trading newbie.

Cheers in advance

Hey Im far from an expert, Im doing Basic filters till unlock BP Comprehension (Lvl 10). And crafting all generic Leather as textures that I loot.
Maybe once gained a few levels choose a profession you are going to follow ie Armour - buy a couple of L BPs that have skill bonus and do a couple of clicks too.

Check this site out http://www.candyman.se/pe/bobthebuilder/v2/index.php
Tells you costs to make product etc.

It used to be that basic filters were the cheapest thing to craft. A great skill builder in the day.
These days I would pick something I could sell. The days of crafting to feed the TT are over.
Study the market and pick something you can sell or use in another product to sell.

Good Luck:cool:

Thanks for the advice guys, and that website looks helpful indeed.

I'll just continue making basic filters for a bit since they seem to give me alot of skill, and i dont seem to be doing too bad when i sell them to the TT, from 90 PED i spent making them, i can sell the basic filters for about 30PED and if i can sell residue, i can rake in about another 15 PED which is all good :) so considering i failed alot with the 90 PED, i should slowly get better and better at making the filters so i dont lose as much right?

tbh, chipping is the way to go these days.

If chippin is the way, what chips bro. how much should i look to spending on them.

hello mate

you want to craft for ? fun, spend dollars, adrenaline, make stuff to sell ?

if you want to skill to have a descent lvl (more than lvl40) you ll need to make tons on clik (during the night for example), and you ll need many peds... if you re afraid to loose 2 5 10k peds you ll not be able to become a crafter:eyecrazy:

try to find a way, choose a speciality in componant, tools, att, weapon, OR armor...
and skill this only speciality

to begin, 10 15k clik on filter, then try Damper....if you want skill mecanik

basic processor for electro and basic sheet metal for metalik.

attach speciality : most expensive way
Armor : can be cheap at the begining but at lvl 35 40 you ll need to skill on lvl 6 or more (5 7 peds clik)
Weapon : same as armor
Tools : 1 ped clik at the beginning and can be expensive later, the way that few player take

if you want to skill to sell your skills : choose tools or armor way

before the VU , become a componant crafter was a possibily but now 90% of componant used for high bp is metallik (in attachment i mean). so become a specialist in elctro is useless  thanks MA

good luck on you activity :girl:

One addendum to Flash's post: checkout which component type is most used in your future domain and skill that one too, is quite complicated to find somebody willing to click, e.g., GeoTrek Super Alloy Buttstock (needed in AL22 Lupus) for another crafter.

Be prepared for EXTREME variations (+-10k ped/day at 7-8 ped/click) and be prepared more than in any domain to log out, take a few days off at times etc. And be prepared for alot of math and patience. Crafting is by far the most beautiful, dangerous, social, complicated and interesting profession which can be done in EU and can maybe be followed closer in these regards only by trading.

I'd sincerely recommend a year of mining and hunting before trying it.

Only a small time crafter here, but the best advice i can give...

Use excel and record everything!

It will help trumendously when crafting in the future

EDIT: word of warning, the vast majority of crafters, sell their stock at a loss, so be careful......i never did understand why they do this? Probably a lack of peds

I would look for something to craft that doesn't involve due to it's current markup, maybe something in the textures category?

problem with weapons they dont need so much compo to craft it (as lupus), so you can't expect to sell all your product

the only way in this process, its compo for attach, need many and craftors will buy to you

In past i made conduct3 and galaxy8g in big qtity, now you can do the same but only with metallik compo

and if some crafters sell with loose , under MU :

- they have tons of peds and they dont care, just want to have fun
- They need peds back to craft again and prefer to cycle their peds (loose fast and much -->to win fast and much:wise:)

for me i prefer to sell at high price in long time and save peds

Wow, thanks for all the replies guys.

I'm generally smalltime crafting (Til i get more income coming in to put into EU) But i eventually want to move on the vehicles, and with the new space patch, i want to be able to produce stuff that will go up into space, im sure that they are going to put more items in for space and want to be part of it.

Again, thanks for all the replies, very helpful :)
