Pet Skilling: Am I doing it right?

I don't have much experience with pets, and am trying to level up a Blue Leprechaun. I know nothing is fast and easy here in Entropia, but this seems to be taking way longer than I thought it would. So maybe I'm missing something?

Right now, I spawn the pet, do tricks when focus is 99%-100%, and feed it so that it is well fed at all times.

Is there something else I should be doing?

At this rate, it will be many months before it is level 23 and I'm able to unlock the run buff.

Yup this is right. Best to train him up while you are doing other things. The buffs really aren't that great. Autoloot is about the best. You can also train up a few at a time.

Glad to know I'm not doing something terribly wrong. But what do you mean by a few at a time? I can only spawn one at any given time yes?

I guess I could spawn, do a trick, spawn another, do a trick, repeat. Is that what you mean?

They regenerate focus when they in your inventory. Faster when spawned of course.
