So lately ive noticed , people talking about player retention, and why players leave. So i guess this is more of a discussion on how MA can keep players engaged in the game , i realize this game revolves around money, so you get people for multiple reasons joining. Ive hosted fun monria elder of the gods speed suit events and the feedback ive gotten from new players is its fun, they couldnt have done this alone and its hard to find people to help/guide them.I do believe the new players have potential to be big depositors , free to play contributors and such to the economy of the game , but they say that they dont depo for lack of community or guidance ,so its hard for them to think of investing when they cant seem to figure the game alone. I understand some will say they need to read forums and such, and there are socs/players that take time out of their day to teach , but if we want a chance to allow UE5 to flourish and not tank , MA should start communicating with the current community to come up with plans and ideas to help players, mentorship is somewhat good but it burns out any commited mentor. I do believe that educating/informing new players will benefit us as a whole , because just like IRL if someone came to me and asked if i want to invest in something with no knowledge or explanation i would not, but if i had more jnformation or idea of how such investment works i would be less reluctant to dismiss it right away, so lets brainstorm ideas , maybe simple updated tutorials , tips and tricks ,f2p and depositor guides , bankroll management and such will help the future generation of EU players, just because some of us startrd the game in 2004 with no help or knowledge, shouldn’t mean the new players now should start the same

dont depo for lack of community or guidance
Homeless say the same about not getting involved. Im not saying its everyone.

its hard for them to think of investing when they cant seem to figure the game alone.
It's really hard for them because each time they shoot, they expect 115% return + MU. It's really the hardest part for them. But based on their equation. Most of them paid over 150$ a years and some for decade on mmo getting 0$ but it was a "no loss" game.. Go figure.

MA should start communicating with the current community to come up with plans and ideas to help players
The plan been said many time. We open a prototype world called calypso with bad MU so some can invest team into making other planets, so societies can have their shop and ships to make their own event on lot of player owned lands/deeds. MA all about the opposite. Keep secrets to flash move economies to keep retention and let the players work for the events based on game meta that move really really slow with some extreme changes at time to make economic imbalnce and stimulate trading/economy
asked if i want to invest in something with no knowledge or explanation i would not
Strange as it sound, most irl investors invest on promise just like the typical vote someone cast to a politician than will not hold his promises.
When you invest in a company you may own 10% but you have no idea what that 10% is worth because it's worth nothing. It's worth the illusion that someone will eventually pay more even that if you tried to cash out 10% of the company they wouldnt even let you remove 1 screw from their building so in fact you own 10% of nothing. It's not really different here. If a company go bankrupt your investment drop to 0$ just the same as entropia and companies promise about giving money to investor on bankrupcy is about as strong as it would be if it was MA closing server.
maybe simple updated tutorials , tips and tricks ,f2p and depositor guides
Updated tutorials could be fun and will most likely happen with next engine. As for tips and tricks this isnt sim city or counter strike. There no real aiming and there no actual strategy for a hof. Guides are actualy plenty. From sweating guide, swunting, logs, hunting, mining guides, armor guide and so on.. It's all been done. This community bitch so much about things they want but the truth is they are not satisfied with the wonderful and hard work many players actualy have done even if I dont agree with all their concept they still done substantial work and provided data. Reason is simple really. Everyone guide and log say the same thing! TT loss is inevitable! These people who complain want a different type of guide! They want the guide that allow them to go in a casino and spin ATH every roll so they can eat cheetos dipped in brandy the rest of their lives. Thats the actual truth. Go around in the forum, wiki, evasion calculation and so on. Tell me that there isnt enough guide! I dare you! There nearly a guide for every darn mob and their location but as long as the guide will not say "This guide return 110% TT before MU garanteed", these people will claim that there is no valid guide. They are in denial.

First of all, i kinda know what i am talking about since i have been Arkadia Adviser for some years, helping new starters with questions, events, sweat circles .. you name it. We were around 24/7 to pick up everyone new spawned or helping older players on their fist time on Ark.

New Players coming in are a whole different generation than we have been in the past. A lot come from other games "already knowing everything" impatient and wanting to get rich .. cause they are good "gold farmers " from WOW .. for example .. a lot are not willing to learn the basics or even listen to longtime players.. everything has to be fast and it has ofc to work right away... which we all know it´s not possible.

We did fun stuff to explore, no peds needed, sometimes with little prizes ( from our own pockets just to make it more intresting) to explore the planet, gather TP´s ... but that´s for 80% of new starters obviously not enough .. because it alwas ended .. "my gun broke give me a new gun "

They come into game cause they heared about "making money while playing" and as soon as they realize it is not as easy as they think it is .. they give up .. still not knowing the basics...
It is just like RL.. if you are not smart in business in RL you won´t "gain the millions" and so it´s the game (plus the factor MA which has the control)

They need to learn to play actually for fun and to see it like an evening out , which usually involves money for cinema, pub, whatever ..with the possibility to make profit....

Updated Tutorial and Tipps n Tricks would be great, but that would mean they actually have to read them and learn, what the most are not willing to do... they wan´t a free ride to the lottery win ...

Calypso has a very extensive mission chain for newbies that show you everything you need to know if only you actually take time to read the tooltips and dialogue boxes.

That mission chain also teaches you that not all missions are worth doing and that you have to manage your PED carefully (im looking at you Fort Sisyphus *frowns*)

It teaches you that the number of loot events >>> value of the monster killed (that first "Kill 300 Cornundos" mission stings when you arent used to EU grinding!)

It teaches you to mine, gives you a finder/extractor/probes and tells you exactly how to do it

Auctions & markup are explained through dialogue boxes

i mean what else do players want? what else could we possibly need? do we need a shiny golden arrow that tells us where to click? do we need an alert timer when its time to press F again? do we need mob maps with exact loot tables with % drop probability for every mob?

no, i dont think we need any of that. players need to stop focusing on "min-maxing" and focus on actually making it through the game without depositing every week
