The mods have no issues with such a thread, provided ofc that the 'RL endeavour' isn't another 'computer game, virtual world or MMORPG'. 
It should be in the 'Off Topic' section ofc.
As a suggestion, if you want to discuss the project in detail with interested members, other than one-on-one in PM, you might want to create a Group, and use your thread ask members to join it.
