Question: skill gain vs item level

Kind of a random question,... but is the quantity of skill gain affected by the level of item being used??

say you have 100 skill of handgun.. you get a skill gain using a S.I. Scorpion. Your new skill is 100.5.
Same scenario using say, a mod merc... does your handgun skill after increase go to 100.5, 101, 110????

didn't know if anyone had tested or anything of the sorts.

Skill gain is relative to item decay (including amps), attack speed (because of faster turnover) and thus (in most cases) skill gain can increase with item level. The other part of the equation is the mobs you are killing as there is a kill shot bonus.

It does, but you can kill a lot of carabok in the same time or same amount of peds as a lvl100 mob and gain the kill bonus multiple times.
