I have decided to start my diary as a way to remember my time here on PE.

The lucky miner
Last week has got to have been the most exciting time that I have ever had in this game. It started off slow, most of my soc mates are on vacation. So I had resigned myself to searching for a new mining area and increasing my long blade skills. With that goal in mind I stepped off of the tp at East Scylla. Standing there was my first opportunity to practices with my 1x0 axe. That snab's died quickly giving me the "no loot found" salute but it also gave me a perception point as well. From most of the posts that I have read, on the forums, about the perception skill point gain it has been debated as either a meaningless skill gain or a clue to start mining. I like to think that it means something so I send off a probe to the loot pool.
Well, what do you know; I'm picking up another strange signal on my detector. I have found 3 other robot spaceships before and the result has always been the same, 50 peds. This time it was different, I received only 25 peds which meant that I have received a beacon in my inventory. After a few moment of searching the threads on the forums I discovered that the 25peds beacon means that it is an “easy” robot mission. Feeling kind of lucky I pressed on, dropping mines and probes and coming across some deposits (small and poor) when bam! 53 peds mini hof in zinc. This day was starting to get better and better I thought. Into the desert I forge, the mob traffic was light and easy so I soon found myself in the middle of the vast desert. I drop a probe and BAM! I looked at the detector to read were the next poor deposits site was located but it said something different this time. I read on the detector, Massive, for the first time it said something other that poor, very poor, modest or average. Wooot! I quickly ran to the site and sunk my claim rod.
I was hoping that it would not be water, please please don't be water!! Give me anything else but please not water my extractor is nearly decayed.
I stared a long time at the screen after the first pull of the extractor, “what the heck is this stuff?” I said. I have never run across this stuff before in my mining life, it was something called Lytarian dust. Ok, let's hope I can get it out of the ground before my tool breaks or I get eaten by a hungry roaming Atrox. So after about 20 mins it's done. It was late and I was tired, off to bed I went hoping that after I log back in again that I could re-mine the area tomorrow, maybe I will get luck again. Sadly that was not to be the plan, logging in again I hear the silky sounds of Atrox's chewing me for the fibre that I provide their diet with. *sigh*
The walk in the desert
Well back at the shop container; after about 10 mins of refining, I realize that I'm still way too heavy to do anything but walk. So I head out and start walking to the closed tp one step at a time collecting fruit and poop along the way. It's funny, my in game name is sneakers and here I am walking. Well the mobs in the area must have smelt the dust on me and zeroed in on me time and time again. I had planed on taking the robot mission today and had invited some people to join me on my quest.
Suddenly a green dot appeared on my screen amongst all the red dots. Great I thought, I can walk in his wake for awhile and maybe be close enough to tp somewhere normal instead of the outback. (Note to self: get a good tp chip, I can afford it now )
Here comes this guy wearing no armour, I though that he was just crazy to be out here dress like that. His name was Magimees and he has just looted a nice bookcase from a Longu. The reason he was dressed without armour was to "give the mobs a chance" he said, I laughed for a long time about that one.
Magimees could tell right away that I was a noob in the woods and that I might need some help, so we started to walk to Jason Center. Magimees took point, dropping mobs with easy and skill and providing me with some useful tips and the occasional laugh. (I passed up his suggestion of a walking tour of PVP3 to take look around. rotflmao)
Soon we were in Jason Center and I had called in my friend to start the robot mission. There were only three of us so I invited Magimees along for the ride. Magimees quickly found one of his friends to join us as well for my first robot adventure.
Getting Team Renegade Masters to the LZ
Team Renegade Masters consisted of :
naithen, IGOR, and Venus from Shaolin
Magimees and Moonear.
Make no mistake about it; I’m a noob just of my orange jumpers. I have graduated from my mentor but I’m still a noob. So with that picture in mind, there the 6 of us were running to the LZ just West of Troy. They moved like shadows compared to me, “I must be in a localized lag zone” I said. I felt just like the little kid brother, furiously pedaling on his tricycle, trying to keep up to his older brother as he and friends pedaled their bikes to the clubhouse. I was the Chihuahua running with this wolf pack, but damn if my tail wasn’t wagging hard. (Woof! , grr! Woof! yah)
(I think I got a glimpse, a small sample, of the pure excitement of what it must be like running to a LG event.)
We pass through the minor mobs fields like ghosts, until we came closer to the LZ. Then we started to hit some chop the closer to the coordinates of the LZ we came. It got a little bit more “challenging” as someone one in the group put it. I saw 3 new species of thing that could kill me faster than I could blink out there. Something call a “cigar spider” was dancing near me before it magically disappeared, plus 2 more things that reminded me not to lag to far behind the rest of the group.
Magimees was still not dressed and had to regroup after meeting up with some unexpected troubles. Moonear went to help him and I stayed with Igor to guard the LZ . *cough cough*. Soon we were ready for the space ship.
The robot mission
Wow, what can I say? You always remember your first don’t you? You just can’t describe how it feels. We kicked ass.
End of the adventure
Yeah, this part always sucks hard. To get a glimpse of what fun this game can offer you, to run with a group of pros that made it look so easy. To be pull out of the daily grind of drop a probe, axe a snab to be part of a great adventure to then have it end. Yeah, I know all about that feeling in the pit of my stomach . I sadly collected all of the TT food, and peds from the mission and walked to the TT machine. The machine munched the blades and we received 35 peds overall in total. I was hoping for huge loot or something of value to leave on a high note with but that was not meant to be. Venus divided the loot up and we disbanded the “Renegade Masters” team. Moonear , Magimees and Venus decided to escort me back to PA.
173 ped warrior gen going away present
Have you ever brought a noob team hunting with you only to have no loot for hours? Image how you would have felt if just after you disband the team, the first thing the noob manages to kill all by himself; he hof’s right in front of you for 173 peds. Well, that would be me, the noob killing a 2 gen warrior with my 38.
What could I do? What would you do? How could I keep that after that adventure I just been on. I did the only decent thing; I divided up the loot into 5 equal pieces.
Back to mining.
Just like Tom Cruise in the movie “Risky Business”. The final scene of the movie when he is raking up the leaves.
He stops raking, takes out his shades and puts them on and lights up a smoke and stares into the distance. That’s how I feel. I’ve taken my first baby steps into a larger world.
A big thanks to:
Venus
naithen
IGOR
Magimees and Moonear
