In an interview a few months ago (https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...-2023-summary-transcript.294772/#post-3891277) it was stated:

Q17. TWEN has been disappointing since miners & crafters have been excluded from TWEN, and also there is a lack of low & mid level TWEN item drops.
The TWEN event will take on a new format after the summer."

I mean, it kinda seems like it's "after the summer" now, and there's been no communication? What gives guys? It's kinda disappointing. Can't you at least give an update? Something?

whats TWEN :( oh? twenty years game??!!! wow i guess not

There won't be any changes made until the next VU, at the earliest, which is set for September 19th.
Do not expect MA to give any notice or clues as to what or when exactly the changes will happen.
The only thing we know for sure, is that the robot invasion will be returning.

they will drop a few crap items to everyone and keep all the good shit in the same hands as always, no way we can let a low level player get a leg up these days :(

Selling Pixie TWEN at boxes +10 ped lol

Multiple low level players or non ubers have looted items between twen AND migration. #KeepOnGrinding

that's great! but i am sure its shit compared to the top few % of players - if i am wrong even better - but i doubt i am

and a "non uber" can still be a very high level player thats gets a lot too i am talking regular players who never got shit (aka the rest of us :) )

not saying everyone gets a freaking massive wep but something nice would be - nice

I mean check entropia life and the avatars ranks. The people cycling more than others obviously have a bigger chance. More quarters in the slot machine ya know?

But I can confirm from when I looked htere's multiple rank 500 hunters and worse who have looted stuff during migration and twen

Getting a good item or UL is just about how much ped you can cycle and how fast. If you want UL gear from loot, spend more ped per shot.

My money is on Rx mobs returning. The models were updated a while ago so looks like they are saving them for the peak of the year.

I'd expect some twen token to be lootable starting a bit before HM, and running throughout MM as well, as well as some twen shirts, basically the same concept as FEN...

TWEN blew, FEN was better with the token system. At least during FEN there were limited items any average joe could get. Plus the plentiful platinum tokens really helped many players actually turn a small profit when hunting at mid-level.

But the top % complained because they had to buy tokens, they couldn't just loot a ton of valuable stuff just by doing what they did every day so of course MA caved and so we got TWEN's "rich get richer" format. Couple random smaller players hit the lottery to keep up the illusion but it's obvious who got the lions share of everything.

I beg to differ, my whiteboard tally system says ubers and returning players (which are rewarded by the system to make sure they keep gambling on) have been the most that have looted nice stuff. The common 6-8hrs/16:00-22:00 common players have not really looted much, maybe its because they are so consistent in their gameplay that the loot algo says "fuck 'em, they still here". 😂😂😂

Yeap shitty system, and the big players still have the nerv to complain when looting items for 1,000,000ped... this game has lost it ways so many times over when Mindark started to listen the big grinders.
But who the fekk im i to say anything? I only play at a medium level so in the ybers eyes i cant have a saying....

based on replies from much more knowledgeable and respected players than my noob self - i am sticking to what i said

I know some players too that looted very nice items, but believe me they MORE than deserved that and as far as i know never got anything of high(er) value before so for that i am very happy for them

but to trying and say the same old group is not getting the lions share is not something i can believe - but hey i got a crappy ugly shirt - WOOT ?!?

i know i will never get anything because the mobs i have Ped to hunt don't drop anything and i sure as fuck don't trust MA enough to deposit $1,000's to try for the likely .000000000000001% chance of getting a good loot, never mind an item. it wil be gone in a few weeks.

so yea.... i'll see you at the Merp spawn lol :(

Few statistics as food for thought too of just how f*cked TWEN is....

  • FEN went like 3.5 months from Oct 12, 2018 to Jan 30, 2019
  • 229 Unlimited FEN items dropped (or were bought I guess) during this time
  • 665 Unlimited FEN shirts dropped during this time
  • 329 Limited FEN items dropped during this time
  • Total: 1,223 FEN items logged as released to 642 unique avatars (334 not counting shirts)
(not to mention the many many tokens that still exist in the wild and still have markup, are tradeable and can very much be considered a memento of the event that I'd estimate a very high percentage of players at least looted 1 gold one of during the event)

  • TWEN is set to go for an entire year from Jan 2023
  • 127 Unlimited TWEN items have dropped in about 8 months
  • 0 Shirts or other event swag has dropped
  • 0 Limited items have dropped (at least they haven't been logged in EL, anyone know of any L TWEN items?)
  • Total: 127 TWEN items dolled out to just 76 unique avatars (out of the near 5700 globalling player base)
So nearly 10x the loot drop and about 8x the amount of players got a taste of FEN than did for TWEN thus far. With FEN about 11% of all players at least looted something. In TWEN it's been about 1.3%. Ok yes, there's Unreal tokens too that aren't factored here but I don't count those for TWEN as their dropping existed before TWEN and will exist after it. I feel them dropping outside mayhem was a token effort to try to add a little something more to a pretty weak TWEN event.

So yeah, TWEN ain't over yet but they've got a LOOOOONNNGGG way to go to even come close to touching FEN as far as I'm concerned. And with only a few months month I don't think they can pull it off.

You forgot the jackets - of which I have 665 of them.

Who knows what we will see for the rest of the year. They don't have the luxury of being able to have a bunch of unlimited TWEN items drop and be absorbed in this market. They could do a lot of L weapons though and accessories.... and then the tokens.

52.49% of FEN items went to Unique Avatars 27.31% excluding shirts.

59.84% of TWEN items went to unique avatars

It seems to me that TWEN has actually had a HIGHER PERCENTAGE of Unique avatars looting items then FEN did.

BY A LOT as we HAVE to exclude shirts

So it was about 4 FEN items per unique avatar who has looted at least 1
where as now it's about 2 TWEN items per unique avatar who has looted at least 1

I'm not saying I've enjoyed the TWEN event, many people know I despise this event because it doesn't FEEL like an event (only hunting matters).

It was phoned in. No real creative development.

Much like this forum.

Apparently this is all they got done in the 3-4 months or whatever amount of time they had when they switched a portion of the team from UE5 to TWEN. Looks like incompetence or someone threw it all together in a few hours and called it done.

The robots have finally mined enough resources to complete their ultimate weapon which is set to cripple our resistance while they make their final push for complete universal control. Rumor has it they've figured out how to break unlimited equipment turning everything (L). It's going to be... Unreal.

Thankfully we've secretly been working on a new modular weapon system that should replace most of the broken equipment. Get ready!

Ah Yes thanks, guess because they don't trigger hofs that track on EL...

Ok, if you're looking at raw %'s technically TWEN looks better on paper. But a more reasonable number to look at is the # of unique avatars compared to all. When your talking 600 vs 70 I mean all 70 of those could represent just the top 1% of players.

I'd much rather a larger number of total people are looting something or multiple things rather than a very small number who are slightly less likely to loot multiple things.

Facts, no one we can blame for that though.
And you all think UE5 will come in 2025
Contractually it has to be pretty close to 2025.

They didn't just hire 25 people and fire them a year later for nothing.
Wait what am I saying, they definitely just hired random people for a year for nothing.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, just stating the percentages. TWEN sucks.

Yeah, I think it's weird to exclude miners/crafters in TWEN. Even if, theoretically, TWEN means more demand for mined and crafted items, that still doesn't leave crafters and miners with any souvenirs of TWEN. Wouldn't be hard to put a few things in their loot pools. We know the loot mechanics are there because other items also drop from those activities from some kind of loot pool.

one of the weird things about special event loot is it seems like they don't have a good way of managing randomness when it comes to injecting loot into the pool. they put stuff into the pool and it gets sucked out within days. rest of the time you're grinding with no chance for anything. or so it seems.
