I like coffee. The black liquid keeps me going for hours. The downside of this strange phenomenon is that at nights, it takes ample amounts of Jack Daniels in order to get tired enough to head to bed.

Of course, I could just give up on caffeinated coffee, but what's the point? That's like drinking non-alcoholic beer. Sure, you look like you're on of the clique, but your Bling really is just painted scrap metal.

My weekend consisted of way less PE-time than I'd have liked. Had a party to attend on Saturday (and it was an excellent party), and the old folks over for Sunday. Woke up very early on saturday and guzzled down a few extra strong coffees. Spent part of the morning playing PE all hypered up, and the better part of the afternoon went into cleaning the old apartment. The Missus will be landing tomorrow, so the shack has to look it's best. No worries, this will be a one-time only. Just enough to make her THINK I am a cleaning-kind of feller.

After the party went hunting a bit more. Morale + amount of PEDs owned: Down.

Sundays with the rents was not too bad. The weather sucked, so I dropped them off at the trainstation earlier. Went hunting near Phoenix, and made a few PED. Lost most of those hunting East/North East of Hadesheim East.

Later went hunting Argonauts with Ash. We didn't do too bad, but the fact we dropped tons of 'nauts of the Scavenger and Gatherer type without getting anything substantially lessened the joy.

Afterwards took the nobies of our soc on a hunting trip. Quote of the day: "Let's cross the river". Made a mental note to explain the concept of not attacking oher people's MOBs before any hunt with peeps i don't really know.

End result of the weekend: Half a bottle of Jack gone, made some loss, came up with devious schemes to gain control over PE's economy, and shat my pants pondering about the Missus moving in.

Yee of little faith.

Forgot to add the bit about attempting to preach at Corinth.

I arrived early at Corinth today (10 AM EMT (GMT +1)) and started preparing for the ceremony. When all skulls were alligned properly, the candles were lit, and the Jack Daniels was consumed, and I wanted to start the prayers, it occured to me that the public attention was extremely low.

In fact, only two heathens were present, and then dissappeared inside an exchange terminal. So I followed them in, and kindly pointed out their errors. My literal words were: "What are you infidels doing inside? Know yee not that today is the Sabbath and Lootius demands sacrifices to be made?". At that point, they started talking in a funny language which included lots of ö's.

I begged Lootius to forgive them for their errors, at which point I heard a 'stfu'. At that point, I invoked the old tradition where a priest forgives the person and then prays that Lootius will make their main organ sag for eternities to come, make their faucerfix steak go green overnight so they have to chase it, and to make their loot suck like mine does. They did not seem overly impressed, and kept on chattering in obscure tongues.

I was finally forced to give up and finished the ceremony by myself. Informed bishop maniac about al this, but got very little sympathy. The life of a Monk is one of little reward, indeed, even without celibacy.

Mission: Convert the priest

Loot today wasn't too bad. Preached at Phoenix for some time, but with little result. The upside is yesterday's team member got the grasp. He was the only one though.

Cursed them all into oblivion, then went hunting. Got some nice loot on the first few kills, and other gods interfered. Found myself dead when reconnecting, and thus went to the auctioneer. Evil people thwart my plans, and I might soon have to rely on the old brute force method: Corporate bonuses.

The moment the Missus approaches draws nigh, and while I have not been able to contact her, I'm shiverring me timbers. (Her dad is an anglican priest, by the way. I fully intend to point his attention to Lootius some day and see if I could achieve my greatest victory ever).

-VF- goinf to bed, because the Missus lands at the unLootius' time of 5:45 AM. Another reason is that suddenly my close friend Jack Daniels went very quiet.

Will hook the Missus to PE tomorrow morning, but not before all the important stuff is done.

The missus

The missus arrived. In fact, she's asleep while I compose this. Picked her up after sitting around for 2 hours because her flight was delayed. Bought a book by Stephen Hawking. No worries, nothing too intellectually from what I saw so far. Hopped on the good foot and did the bad thing for a while when we got home.

Hunted a bit after she fell asleep. Lootius was apparently not too pleased with me today. I ran from PA to Billy's and then to Phoenix. Lots of stuff to kill, but little loot. Got lucky on a bery and tripu though. Hadn't it been for those 2, I'd be deep in loss. The tripu gave me 6, and the bery 10.

Must remember to not just pray and preach, but to actually put my whole being into His worshipping. I could smell the HOF today. Or maybe that was the missus. She smells so damn nice.

I'm gonna snuggle up to her a little bit more.

Vive La Revolution! Attaca! Attaca!

Oh, the cojones on me. Like you probably have heard, today was the big day for the referendum. We were told by our MPs that voting against it would create the perfect environment for a second holocaust, would plunge The Netherlands into an economical isolation (not good if your country relies mostly on trading), and more apocalyptical prophecies. Scaremongering found its way into Holland. THEN our PM said that he'd look like an idiot in Brussels (without needing his haircut to do that for him) if our country rejected the constitution.

Stop the presses! That's all the motivation I need. So yeah, I voted no. Not because I don't support a constitution or anything. I just feel that if I vote for something, I should be able to understand what I am signing us up for, without needing help from legal experts. It's really no different than signing a job contract. If I cannot make heads or tails of it, I'll turn it into confetti.

Showed the missus some PE when we got back. She didn't seem overly impressed with it. Interest was sensed though when I mentioned the possibility of perhaps hairdressers or tattoo artists could be implemented. Should work on that.

I'm darn tired, and Lootius was not too good for me today. Spent some more time plotting out my scheme. Way too early to tell, but I might be onto something. No more PE for tonight. We're going to watch some Coupling, and then prolly do the humpties again.

Mission: Getting the missus hooked

Score!

The missus created her avatar today. She'll be reading the guide tomorrow morning, and hopefully make her way to Phoenix. I'm kinda bummed I cannot take her on as a disciple, seeing as I only have one PC that is able to run PE. If she gets hooked enough, maybe I'll finally buy a new laptop, or a cheap PC which I'll hook up to an old screen/mouse/keyboard.

Preached for a bit at Phoenix, and converted a few new people to the flock. Also made arrangements with one of my competitors.

Did some hunting with Ash near Echidna later in the evening. Both of us armed with Justifiers took on a load of snarks, merps, feffs, and what not. Lootius was sleeping perhaps, because other than 2.40 in wool and some paint, all we got was PECs.

All in all, not a bad day, except for the loot. I also found out today I already love the iPod the missus bought for me (I still have to pay her back).

-VF-, who prolly will get mangled by the missus again tonight.

Lootius be praised, aka the blessed Berycleds

Took the afternoon off to spend some time with the missus. That turned out into playing a bit of PE until she jumped me.

Had another vision from Lootius. He pointed me to a very interesting hunting ground, where I of course immediately went. In it he told me the Berys at this ground were sacred and to be killed only with swift and lethal force. So I took up Yee Olde Axee and took swift care of them, cornundus and prancers. The berys were blessed indeed. I got a FAP-15 (10 PEDs worth) and an amplifier. Got tons of little loots from them as well, mostly some PEDs worth with some PECs, hide, wool, paint, and what not.

Left there after Laggius started getting on my ass. From talking to Ash, it turned out it was pretty much a server problem. Went hunting with him for a bit, but the loot there was not nearly as nice as at the first spot.

All in all, a very productive day.

-VF-, signing off to spend some more time with the missus who turned into a small couch potato after discovering my other Coupling DVDs

Lies, deceit, and an unsuspecting missus

I lied to the missus yesterday.

Here's the deal. About a month before she'd arrive, I mailed a bunch of my friends and asked them if tey'd like to be at a welcoming party. The general idea was they'd show up, mumble something about being in the general area, and thus we'd keep the missus oblivious to the fact there was an evil grand scheme behind it for as long as possible. Well, that day was yesterday.

My plan was I'd go grocery shopping by my lonesome, and thus get away with dragging over a few cases of beer, and enough pop to keep a small nation wet with. It'd sit in the back of the car, until it was needed. However, she insisted she'd come along on the grocery shopping. So when she wasn't looking, I snuck in a case of beer, and said drinks. She came back and made a comment about the amount of pop. So I came up with an excuse.

Later, I suddenly remembered I forgot to buy wine. So again, with some bogus excuse I snuck off and returned with 4 bottles.

The funniest part (for me at least) of the whole night was when Ash showed up. Now Ash drinks grapefruit-flavoured pop, of which I bought a bottle. The missus said something along the line of: "Wow, that's a coincidence. Peter bought a bottle of that stuff you like so much just today".

Anyway, as soon as my friends who live 2 hours away showed up with a big bouquet of flowers and a huge vase, the missus was onto me. We had such a fun night though.

I am guessing Lootius frowned on my lying, as today loot wasn't terribly good. I got a result of pretty much 70%, which included an axe (for 7 pecs).

Funny smelling clouds

Yesterday was one of those days I will probably fondly think back of for years to come. Funny, really, since nothing too exciting happened, but I guess it's the little things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside that somehow matter.

Got home from work, where the missus and me decided we were hungry. I was just gonna toss some Italian Cordon Bleus in the ole grease pan, when she suggested we'd head to a greek restaurant - her treat. So we hopped in the Renault Lagune that I temporarily drive (my regular leasecar is being fixed from some damage it got a few weeks ago as well as getting a new paintjob on the door (no, not my fault)), and went over. Stopped briefly at an electronics store while I looked for a surround set, but eventually just left for the restaurant, because our tummies were making more noise than the combined audio equipment in the whole store.

As always, I started off with a calamaria salad while the missus nibbled on some bread dipped in saziki. She got a farmers salad with feta for a main course while I dove into a platter filled with meat. When it was time to pick up the bill, I made her ask for it in Dutch. She's really doing well when it comes to speaking and understanding Dutch and I'm really impressed with her; more so since it's only been a week since she's been here.

We went back home, where I fired up PE while she browsed some tourist information brochures she picked up from the embassy earlier. Hunted for a little bit, but without too much result. Then the missus decided she wanted to hop on and start sweating. We ran her from the outpost she was stuck at to Billy's, and towards Phoenix. That's about when her dad called to check up on his little girl.

So while she updated him on the weird card system rather than a key the Laguna uses, and told him about the past weekend etc, I started running her character towards Phoenix. Along the way I ran into a guy who was hunting and offered me a job as a runner. I figured I'd make her a quick few PECs and accepted. Spent about 15 minutes doing that, but when it was time to cough up, the guy faked a CTD and never made good on his promise. So Ade, should you read this, if I catch you anywhere any time soon, you're in for something.

This morning, it was once again proven that the joy of Greek food does not stop after consumption. To do: buy scented candles or something alike.

Mangling Molisks meet more missus

Well, the missus wasn't feeling het best today, so I called into work and took up a day of leave. When we finally got up though, she fellt a lot better. Ah well, too late to get to work anyway.

Made a big pan of Onion Soup (watch out for more dark clouds at Casa de Vigra tomorrow morning), hung up another Ikea closet, and spent a bit online.

After reading all the advice on a further-range laser weapon, I eventually decided to get a plasma gun after all. After being in a bidding war with a guy for about 4 minutes on a particular Bravo, I just bid on the one beneath it, and ended up getting it cheaper then the initial gun went for. Took it out hunting, and very impressed with both the damage (I use a 103 on it though) and the skillgains in Plasma so far.

Dropped quite a bit of Molisks today, and most were extremely kind to me, PED-wise. Best loot I got today though came from a Chirpy Mature, which yielded not only 3 PED and a bit, but also an EWE-10 worth 2 PED. Blessed be thee, Lootius.

The missus deposited today, by the way. On my advice she got a FAP 5, an Outbacko, and some ammo. I think that's pretty much it. She's been out hunting ever since, and it's extremely hard to get a turn on the PC now. I might have to buy another one soon after all.

-VF- writing this an old laptop while taking a poop.

The EF hunt today was lots of fun. I arrived in time to see the Missus gain a few PEDs on a bery, and then took over. Took down an Atrox at Orthos for 13 PED something. Rechecked my auctions, then bought some ammo for the hunt.

Had a small sermon before the hunt. Transcripts here:

Brothers and Sisters. It is with great joy in my heart that I see so many of you assembled here in His name. Before we set forth on our hunt, let us thank Him. After that I shall read some of the scriptures.

(I was the only one respecting Lootius)

The wise words say: ""Forth, and fear no Troxies. Arise, Arise, hunters of Lootius. Axes shall be sharpened, Armax plates shall be splintered. A Jester day... a HOF day... Ere the sun sets.

Run now... Run now... RUN! Run for HOF and the ämbulimaxes ending.

HOOOOOOOOOF! HOOOOOOOOF! HOOOOOOOF!"

Loot wasn't too bad. Could have been better though. Tried preaching a few more times, but to no avail.

It _WAS_ really cool though. We took down warriors generation 4 etc. Stuff I'd never dream of taking down by my lonesome. Umbranoids, molisks, nothing could stop us. Except for that big mean spider.

It was great fun meeting ultimababe and firew0lf. Fire has a wicked sense of humour.

The missus is watching Forrest Gump, and I'm not stoned enough to see the humour in the flick yet. In fact, it has been months since I smoked up. Might need to work on that.

Seeing as I went off prematurely (something the missus can agree doesn't happen very often) during the event yesterday, I found myself stuck at the outpost west of Troy when I logged in. Not the most pleasant area to be stuck.

As it was close to Spiral Mountain (henceforth known as the Screw of God), I decided to give it a climb. Had to hack and slash my way through a ton of Cornundos of all ages (little loot though), to finally get up there. Success! Prayed to Lootius a bit from there (see screenie).

When all the prayers had been done, made my way North-west to the outpost there, and decided to head towards Zychion. Holy MOB-FESt PEDMan! It was as if someone opened up a can of assorted Maffoids and decided to drop them all right in that region. Inbetween the ffoids were Merps and Troxies.

I sniped my way through the Ffoids, until a Troxie Young was blocking my way. Seeing I was carrying the new Bravo, I decided to have a pop at it. Lo and behold, mere seconds later, and without suffering any damage, I received 8 PED, some PEC, and a Generic Skill Implant. Thank you, Lootius!

Finally bit the dust when I had a go at a Trox Mature. ALMOST had him down, but he chewed faster than I reloaded :(

Ah well.

Headed to the 'rents today, so little PE time. More news includes that I finally hooked up my turntables last night. I had a blast DJing for a while, till the missus informed me playing stuff that loud on my headphones was bad for my ears. Ears schmears. Good music can't be played loud enough.

-VF-, going to wake the missus.

More missus and Lootius' love

Ladies and gents. With permission and without much further ado, I present to you the missus:

the missus

Should you happen to stumble across her Avatar 'Claire darkgirl Bowie' (She's a fan. Don't ask me why), be gentle and kind to her, and remember that any Shadow Armour given to her will be viewed as one given to me ;) The missus just asked me to mention that should you ask her nicely, she will dance for you.

Took on a bunch of Armaxes yesterday. Got some loot, but nothing to write home about. Got mauled quite a few times in the process, but oh well. At least I drop them nowadays. I think I just engaged on the youngins, but still. I

Got quite luck on a Cornundacauda Mature early today. It yielded 15 PED something, a 103 for 5.75 and a pair of Kobold Gloves for 11 PED. Also had some nice loot a bit later on when hunting near Phoenix. All in all, Lootius smiled upon me today.

New objective to the game

The missus and me went shopping for a bit today. Bought another plant, and some other stuff we needed for the apartment. Need to do some more work on it, though.

PE-wise, hunted for a bit today. Almost broke even hunting near Zychion, where I got a bunch of PEDs and an Axe as loot. Feffoids were generous today :)

One thing that needs to change game-wise though is that people ought to realize that outbidding me is NOT cool. Too often I see I got outbid on something I was hoping to make a slight profit on. So let us all remember the Golden Rule from now on: "If ViagraFalls is bidding on something, you cannot outbid him". I am sure it will make the game a more pleasurable experience for me at least :D

Signing off, to read some more HHGTTG and maybe watch a movie in the hopes I'll feel a little better.

Nasty evil biddersers.

Still on sickleave, I didn't leave the house today. Most of the time was spent by watching 'Saw' (quite good) and 'Sin City' (quite disturbing). Hunted with Ash for a little while inbetween, read the forums, played cards with the missus (I never should have taught her the game 'Troeven' (trumps). She's addicted), and cursed all those who didn't bother reading last night's diary entry.

See, if everyone would have stuck to the 'don't bid' theme, I'd now be the happy owner of quite a few good items for cheap. But instead, I get involved in bidding wars until I just cannot be arsed anymore, or I realise I've bitten off more than I can chew.

Oh well. The missus had a jolly good time hunting today. She teamed up with Ash at one point, got an axe, and has been chopping away merily ever since. Ash and I hunted around the same spot where they were before. Our targets were Maffoids, Troxies, Molisks, Fould, Armaxes, and them weird flying bugs whose name I cannot remember at the moment. Loot wasn't great, but dropping one heavy after another kinda was.

Well, I'm off, like a dress at prom night.

Oh Captain, My Captain

Time for a serious note.

I'm currently watching Dead Poets Society (every so often being interrupted by the missus updating me on the loot she got (she just got 13 PED off a Cornundacauda)) for the so-manieth time. It is, in my opinion, one of the most powerful movies ever made. I'm not a big fan of Robin Williams whatsover when he's trying to be funny, but in his more serious roles, the man is an acting genius (as in Dead Poets Society, and say, Good Will Hunting).

If only I had seen this movie 15 years ago. Oh, what I wouldn't give to go back to being 13 with the knowledge I have now. The stuff that seemed trivial back then (like, say, school), would seem more important now. Perhaps I would have put in that extra effort to get good grades. Perhaps I would have gone for the school-type (in Holland the high-school system is divided into different systems. Each are built to focus on the intellectual capacities of students of different levels. Some are more job-focussed, others are more learning focussed) I could have gone for, rather than slacking and taking the lazy man's way out.

One thing I'd love to have taken (now) is Latin and Greek. Both are tutored in Gymnasium, but I opted for HAVO which is 2 levels down. Nowadays, I am trying to learn Latin, but without much result so far.

Back to the movie. Mr Keating encourages his pupils to think freely, to think outside the box, to think for themselves. A concept I highly enjoy, and I can only wish that I had been more stimulated that way when I was a youngin. He tells them that life is like a book with an ending, and that the ending is final. He encourages them to fill the pages of their own books with things that are worth reading, that will grasp the reader's attention and keep them interested until the very last page. He encourages them to seize the day.

Maybe, some day, I can pass that same knowledge onto some little ViagraFalls Junior. Perhaps I can learn from the mistakes I made, and actively encourage my kid to think for itself. To constantly question the accepted truth. To not go along with the masses, but to swim against the mainstream.

Until then, I might stick with young people I meet in various communities. Kids (no offence meant. I met 13 year olds with more life experience than some 35 year olds I know) who are still enthusiastic. Kids who have not yet been tainted with the streak of pessimism that often grasps so many of us. Kids who still believe in the good in this world.

And maybe, just maybe, I might be able to ignite a spark in them a fraction as powerful as that which is passed on in the movie. Perhaps I can be their Mr. Keating.

Carpe Diem.

-VF-, off to suck out all the marrow of life and sound his barbaric yawp over the rooftops of the world.

Very hot, not very HOF

Today was blazing hot here in Holland. The missus and me went to the beach, and both of us got quite a bit of sun.

The last few days, I had tons of fun hunting here and there. Dropped too much to count, but including Allophyls, Estophyls, Maffoids, tons of Cornuns, Faucerfixes, and older Snables.

HOFfed with Ash the other day while the quest was on. A small one, 50 PED, but still a HOF. Ash looted two Bravos *grumble grumble*, and the items I came up with included the usual wool, hides, some armor stuff, a FAP 28, and today, an item I had been after for quite some time: Pixie Gloves Male.

I'm a happy camper, more so since I mostly broke even for a few days. There were periods that were not as good, but ah well. I think it mostly evened out so far.

Saw two people HOF near 900 PED on Molisks today, so that might be my prey for a few days to come. Hopefully I'll get one of those too :)

Molisks Mangling Machine...

After work, me and the missus headed for the beach for a very brief swim. Crafted a bit in PE when I got back, and went Molisk hunting afterwards. Must have dropped a good hundred or so of them with about 7k ammo. Loot return was, as the Pommies say, absolute shite. A complication was the number of other hunters and the resulting lack of Molisks to hunt for without running around a lot.

Other than that, a great irritation was the huge amount of missed shots, and the number of times my gun jammed. Might be me, but it seems as if since the last few days or so, that has been happening far more often than before.

Ran into ulti and FireF0x again. Also had a brief chat with Oije who was doing more research for his hunting statistics. I'll be sure to read whether he did any better than me tomorrow.

And then, just when I wanted to head to bed, I found myself without ammo at a revive only point, with Molisks spawning everywhere North of there, while South some Umbranoids blocked the way. Tried a few ways and finally, on ulti's advise, just ran for it. Slow molisks are at least good for something ;) Outrunning...

Been rather quiet the last few days. Did some hunting, mostly with crap loot. Ash did tons better though. She got in a 2.8k HOF yesterday. No notable items, but still nice.

Personally, I'd much rather have a 500 PED HOF with a bunch of good items included. I bet those far outweigh the large PED loots, once you start counting auction prices etc up.

Dropped lots of critters lately, but haven't found a favourite yet. I'm torn inbetween Molisks and Cornundacaudas I think. And perhaps Berys. All of those have given my nice loots at times, with items and PEDs. (We got 5 items off a Snable Female Old today. Also not bad).

Also, it seems like my dung-less period is over. Ash found plenty, and even the missus with less than a full week in-game time found some. I was the laughingstock of everyone. And then, today when I was hunting with Ash, it just spawned right in front of me. 9 Common Dung. I'll be the Macdaddy of the shite some day soon :)

Finally, as for the economic scheme I've been plotting on, it seems to be working. Good thing, too. I've pumped a few hundred USD into the game for it, and with a little bit of luck, I might be getting a few extra bucks back because of it. Not that I'm looking to make a profit; it's mostly to make good on some bad decisions from during my first few weeks. If only I hadn't been such an impatient geezer, there'd be no problem really, but when I thought I needed an MK2 (after about a week's worth of playing) and some decent armour, I just HAD to buy it way overpriced. Oh well.

Started in hell, ended up rather well...

Well. Due to some excessive PE-ing last night, I overslept today. My client, an evil cigarette producer, is quite a drive from here, and every 5 minutes I leave late, usually means an extra 15 minutes before I arrive there. All in all, I ended up arriving an hour and a half later than usual. Just my luck, oversleeping when the fricking public transportation guys are on strike, and some van-driver decided his van would look so much cooler wedged inbetween 2 trucks.

Work sucked. Busy busy busy all day, and little support from my supervisor. I work as hard and fast as I can, when I'm not reading the forums, but it doesn't seem to be enough. Those guys should get their priorities straight!

Anyway. Due to some weird bug I ended up staying in about an hour and a half longer than usual, and then ran into a massive detour on my way back. Ugh. Also saw some cops with their fecking speed cameras on the drive here. Now in itself, I have nothing against those assclowns. I got one speeding ticket in about 10 years worth of driving, but still.

Holland is filled with bloody cameras as it is, but apparently, neither taxes nor the regular cameras take enough hard-earned cash from us. I saw a map of either Europe or the Benelux once, sporing a red dot for every speed camera. Europe looked fine, Holland was one big red dot. Imagine TP'ing into an area so vastly populated with MOBS you cannot see any black space on your radar. Multiply that by 3, and that's the amount of dots on that map.

I am still baffled as to why anyone would want to spend their day sitting on their ass in a crap car, waiting for the camera to fill up. It's not like that poses a challenge or anything. It doesn't require an IQ that outnumbers your shoesize. I seriously am pondering pulling over at some point, and demanding the guy walks a few steps, just in order to determine whether devolution is possible by (probably) witnessing some good ole knuckle-dragging.

Bah humbug.

Onto the good part. Natasza was kind enough to offer her help as a mining tutor, and tonight she taught me a few tricks. As it turns out, my results were always crap because I just didn't put enough distance inbetween the individual drops, causing me to continually mine the same spot.

She explained, very patiently, a bunch of stuff, and then let me mess about on my own. The nice part was seeing she's the same way I am. I will give someone a nudge in the right direction, but I won't exactly take them by the hand and pet it all the way through the whole ordeal. Granted, I messed up a few times, but all in all, things went rather well.

The end result was a net loss of about 12 PED, but the market price for some of the stuff will more than make up for it. And according to her, I had a very crappy spawn tonight.

Watch out, Strakkan, because pretty soon I might just be breathing down your neck ;)

-VF- signing off to ensure a timely arrival by tomorrow.

I'm A Daddy!

Well. The missus had been complaining about cramps lately, and made it clear she thought some things were running out of room. When we went and looked for possible solutions, it suddenly happened, very unexpectedly.

I don't want to blab on and on, but basically, I'm a daddy now. It was quite the shock to the both of us, but we're very very happy :) It's a very healthy boy, though a little bit on the small side, with slightly long ears, but we wouldn't want it any other way :)

Below, you will find a link to daddy and his new pride and glory. Both mommy and the baby are doing very well. We're still pondering between the names "Jack" and "Oliver" or possibly something else. Suggestions are welcomed!

Daddy and the big boy

Lotsa PE

The bunny is soooo darn cute. It's getting used to us now, which is quite clear from the way it responds to us. It allows us to pick it up, and nolongr panics when we get our hand in its cage.

Did some stuff around the house today, while the missus watched LiveAid. Managed to solve the login problems this morning (thank god), and spent the better part of my PE-Time today soc-hunting with Ash and Lanksia. Had a global on an armax, and some rather good loot. Lost money in the long run, but very proud of getting LB over 1k today :)

Gotta run. LAptop battery dying.

Of bunnies and Ped-loss

Well. I got shown what happens when you leave little unpotty-trained bunnies running around. The bunny (we finally decided on a name. He's called Ziggy, after a Bowie song) was barely out for an hour this morning, hopping merrily around on the bed, when we noticed it made a few droppings. Not a big problem, but it also did a wee-wee. Smell-galore. Had to wash the duvet manually since all laundromats we went to were closed.

Hunted a lot today. Did some axing this morning, and later on ventured near Nymph and close to PvP2 with Ash. Looted one GSI. Lanksia joined us later, and we continued the hunt. I'm not trying to get up to Qualified Laser Sniper (currently Initiated), in order to unlock the new skill (Ranged Damage Assesment). What I usually do is shoot first with either a Jester or a Justifier (depends on the MOB), and then Axe the MOB into oblivion.

I've started noticing a big issue though. I shoot ammo by the hundreds, and currently have so many axes that a complete repair of just Axes requires 87 PED. I've been burning PEDs like crazy lately, and today found myself almost broke (had quite a few bids in auction). Loot doesn't quite cover the expenses, unfortunately. So I finally decided to put some stuff I had in storage in the auctions. Some armour pieces (shogun mostly), some amps, a Bravo I looted and some other stuff. Also notified my supplier that I am running a little low on money, to ensure I won't hog up her money.

Luckily, we're leaving to Paris soon. We've found a friend who'll bunnysit, so we head over there tomorrow. On Tuesday, the missus will take the train to where I work and we'll head down to my 'rents. From there, we will leave early on Wednesday to Paris, where we'll meet up with the rents from the missus. We return on Saturday. No PE for a few days, which is good, in order to preserve some funds. I'll have a heckuva lot of reading up to do on Saturday though ;)

Paris, ici nous venons! I finally will get to see the Mona Lisa and the Vitruvian Man, two major highlights of my favourite person ever :) Expect to see pics on Saturday/Sunday :)

Oui mon ami(e)s, je suis encore ici

Paris was interesting. No PE. How did I cope, you ask? Well. We stayed with the missus' 'rents in Montmartre. The first night we took off to The Louvre, where the highlights were the Venus of Milo, the Mona Lisa, Madonna On The Rock, DaVinci's portrait of John the Baptist, and "Poussin's Les bergers d'Arcadie". Quite easy to see where my interests lie, eh? ;)

The second day we visited a graveyard (Jim Morrison, Jean-François Champollion, Edit Piaff, Oscar Wilde), climbed the Eifel Tower, stood under the Arc de Triomph, and strolled down the Champs D'Ellysee. We concluded by heading down the catacombs the third day.

The bunny's grown substantially during our trip, and is loud, loud, loud. Spent some time in PE today, and brought my LB to 1200, and attempted to get Rifle to 1500, but had to quit at 1450. Tomorrow, I'm going to call in and take another day off. With some luck, I'll hit 1500 then.

I have decided to get rid of the Bravo, on account of it being too expensive for too little. 23 burn for around 100 dam (if I'm lucky). Will have to figure out another gun to get. Also, I have decided I want a whip, a leather jacket, a leather hat, and a name change to Doctor Indiana "Indy" Jones. I'll add that to Marco's priority list for when he comes back...

And ninethly: Of dingleberries and skills

Picked up a FF8800 the other day, and have been using that with excellent results. The Bravo is gone, and from now on, I'll be a laser only guy. Well, until I loot a Tango somewhere.

Knuckles notified me that Thorifoids carried those, so Ash and I vetured into Amethera to search for them, and possibly score some new TPs. We came accross some Thorifoids in one of the LandGrab areas, and started blasting away happily, until two guys from the Babboon soc figured it was great fun shooting us while we were engaging the baddies. Now allow me to rant for just a second.

Yes, we were in a PvP area. That does make us free game. However, we were engaging a MOB. At least have the fricking courtesy to allow us to finish the job. The MOB was mostly dead at that point, so it would not have made one tiny bit of difference whatsoever if we were left to live until after we looted it. And the revival killing was not neccessary either.

So, in case they happen to read this: Aron and his buddy Triggerfish, you are dingleberries of the worst kind. Did the fact you could off us make your nether regions glow with pride?

Ran after them for a bit to have them waste ammo, and finally gave up and returned to Eudoria.

Yesterday, we went East from Twin, heading towards the rig. Died numerous times, but the loot wasn't that bad. 5, 6, 7 PEDS from various MOBs at times. Armaxes yielded shite loot, but grabbed a few nice ones from Tantallions. We ended up at the outpost eventually, and there ran into some Ambulis. After offing three (Mature, Old and Guardian) without gaining any noteworthy loot, decided it wasn't worth the effort, and focussed more on the tons of Tantallions that were closeby. Very nice skilling on those, and I am happy to report I got MarksManShip unlocked there (1561 rifle). :D

Next task: Increase LB and unlock Martial Arts.

Wa-Teesh

After enquiring about the possibility to obtain a whip, I was contacted here by Sperlunker who told me I could borrow their whip (Cobra) for free.

Sperlunker never spoke to me before, does not know me in any way, and is most likely aware of the amount of scamming going on, but yet was more than willing to lend a perfect stranger (an idiotic one, too) an item with a market value of several hundred PEDs. Extremely cool :) Thank you once more! I salute you, Sir!

I love, love, love the whip. I already have some 275 or so in skills, after only playing for a couple of hours (had the 'rents and my best friend over yesterday. Played a few hours on friday, going Hardcore up against low-end MOBs, a short while yesterday, and a few hours today). Using the whip is fun, and hunting with it is economical. I actually made more than it costed me (which was only the decay of the whip). I most likely will go and get one of my own, preferably a Cobra ME. Bit too 'spensive at the moment though, so I'll have to wait a little bit longer.

Decided to also skill a bit more LB tonight. Went hunting on mostly cleds, and actually made quite a nice profit tonight. I was getting PEDs left and right (mostly from cleds), and to my surprise, also got a medium heal chip (6 ped something), an A101 (something like 5 ped), Kobold arm guards (16 ped, some PEC), and Kobold shin guards (13 PED and some small change).

New soc, bad loot

Well, I made a decision regarding socs. I was torn between two options:

NothingAndNowhere
and Crimson Angels

I had a very pleasant introduction to NaN from Rex himself, and thought the soc was laid out really well. Their website looked professional, and Rex has always seemed like a friendly guy on here.

CA drew my attention mostly due to how close they are. They genuinely seem like the kind of people who would gladly jump a band of Hell's Angels to protect a friend, even when they know they are outnumbered. I eventually had a little chat with Ragna, who was in the soc and he basically convinced me to apply to CA.

I haven't seen too much of the soc yet, seeing a lot of the members are non-Europeans (well, Ragna isn't), but I am sure that will come. Not this weekend though, as we'll be entertaining the in-laws for two days.

Loot sucked for the last two days, and I haven't really skilled too much. Tried Snappers yesterday, but died a little too often. I just can't seem to find the buggers half the time. Got mauled by Tantallions as well, so decided to just take things easy.

Also convinved myself to let some of the auctions I was bidding on just fizzle out (meaning I will not bid again when outbid) to ensure I can meet up a financial obligation with a supplier. Never realised how much money I always had invested at any single point in time.

I have an awesome idea for a PE business, and will look into how much that would set me back. Time to deposit some more, or start selling some of the stuff that is clogging up my storage (literally. I got messages the storage was full, so already got rid of some stuff I had stored in there).

Wheeeeeeeeeeee and blergh

The good news:

Had okay loot the last few days. Globalled with the CA-guys two days ago, did quite well with Muddy yesterday on various MOBs, and had some lucky loots solo inbetween. Nothing fancy, but enough to make a small profit. Bought Rascal parts from part of the profit.

I deposited 200 more PEDs from a different credit card, to ensure it'll be validated soon. That way I am able to hold out a little bit longer. Gave Ragna a 50 PED loan from this, so he could keep hunting.

Skilling is going quite well. I found myself using axes whenever not hunting with others, to get my LB to par with Rifle. The Omegaton 2890 I bought a week ago serves as backup. Rifle is around 1.7k now, LB slightly over 1.5k, whip at approximately 350, and handgun 500 or so. Should start looking into buying 1 chip worth of Evade, and maybe some tailoring skills. Just to ensure I would have a slight advantage when tailoring or hunting.

And finally, I got my new car on Monday. I traded in the old Seat Cordoba (2001), and am now the proud leaser of a brand spanking new Seat Altea (2005). SDI got replaced with 1.9 TDI, so the car packs quite a punch. It costs me a 100 bucks a month more, but everything about the car makes it more than worth that. Besides, I still quit smoking, so that makes up for that. The upcoming (in the words of my manager 'significant') raise should help out as well :D

The bad news:

Fucked up big time at work. Had the DBAs take something into production yesterday that I hadn't properly tested. As a result, the reporting database got stuffed.

I am so fucking tired of them demanding I develop shit for them that a) I am not trained in (Oracle 3), b) do not have the proper tools for (I have to use some command-line crap to upload my stuff, and then am unable to see whether it validated properly), c) have no proper test environment for.

I am willing to bet my ass that I will be the one taking the blame. Forget that the DBAs never verified anything. They work for the company; I'm just a contractor. If this escalates, I am going to stick exactly to what is in my function description is, and not an inch more or less than that.

It's been a while, so here's an update. Mostly been skilling lately. Skilling Handgun (~600), LB (~1675), F.A. (No idea) and whip. Been hunting lots. Killed an Ambuli Young by my lonesome yesterday, and a plethora of Troxies, Allos, Estos and other stuff in teams.

My goal still is to get LB on par with Rifle (which currently is around 1775 or so). Mostly I just want to see if I can achieve a professional Brawler standing, though seeing my Inflict Ranged Damage is about 300 higher than Inflict Melee Damage, I might be quite far from that.

Loot has been alright. Globalled around midnight August 1st. During my afternoon, went hunting with Mighty near Ithica on Troxies. Looted some nice PEDs, and when Mighty left, stuck around to skill LB some more. Loot was absolutely disgusting, so eventually gave up and watched a movie (Interstate 60, starring Gary Oldman. Very funny movie). Returned later that night, and hunted a few spots with Ragna.

He had a feeling about SW Zychion, so we started there. Had a few nice Muffs, and then went NE of Zychion, where we looted a GSI :) Later at night hunted allos with Ash, Lanksia and warmdogg. Loot was alright there. Also spent a few PEDs buying tailoring stuff. I'm gonna be one mean lean clothes-making machine.

Outside of PE, life's not been too good. Work sucks. My relationship sucks. The missus never enlisted in a Dutch program, resulting in her being stuck in the apartment a lot of the time. She misses home, her friends, her cats, etc, which results in her being depressed and cranky.

To top it off, we're both total opposites when it comes to personal interests, musical taste, and pretty much anything else. She does not feel at home in my apartment, and we routinely argue about petty stuff.

We'd originally go back to Canada to pick up her remaining stuff and the kittens, but we decided it would be better if she'd just go back. We both reached this conclusion on our own, so it was good to find out it was something we both agreed on. In the meantime, we're counting down the days. Ah well, better to try once, than wondering forever...

Let me start by thanking everybody wishing me heads up because of the last post. Your concerns are highly appreciated.

What happened in the meantime? Well, lots. We've been getting along a lot better. I took a couple of days off, mostly played PE. I failed my Web Services exam.

PE-wise, I achieved my Qualified Swordsman status. Currently I'm at 2050 LB, 1.8k something rifle, 525 Whip, and about 850 HG. I'm torn about what to skill first. Maybe get HG up to 2k? Whip, until I get Animal Taming? Go for Capable Swordsman and hopefully unlock Martial Arts? Skill Rifle and aim for RDA? Decisions, decisions...

About whips, I purchased a RattleSnake ME from DarkAngel (helped her get it, and she decided it wasn't for her yet), picked up a Cobra ME, and am bidding on a regular Cobra. I intend to compare reload, dam/pec and that kind of stuff for myself, so if anyone is selling a plain Rattlesnake, gimme a shout. This also means that I can give Sperlunker his whip back.

Been working on my Tailoring a bit. Dumped several hundreds of PEDs into materials, but for some reason, it's never enough. I should try and ensure I have several hundred cloth, several thousand teeth, and several thousand generic leather, perhaps, and then just click till I go crosseyed. There has to be a way to gain a wad of skills and a global or HOF. My Basic Shirt BP is rated at well over 25%, the shoes are at 10 or so, and I haven't really spent much time crafting pants. I did, however, have a go at Urban Shirts today. I tried 7 times or so, and got 5 shirts. Nice, but no skills. Come on, people. Help a poor little wee tailor out. You all probably have tons of wool/hides/BPs lying around. Why don't you sell them to me for TT value? :D Shadow parts also welcome. In exchange, I promise, that once I am Tha Uber Tailor, I shall allow you to worship the very ground I walk on.

I can't wait to go mining for Til :) If only I could tailor for him as well. I still think it's uber-cool from him. I mean. He hands out skills for free basically. There's no risk for me whatsoever. Of course, it means that should I make a profit, I won't see anything of it, but I still get to skill lots. I am really curious to see how it works out for him, and I do hope each and every person he sends out HOFs big time. Initiatives like his deserve to be succesful. Now if he'd only also let me tailor/body sculpt/hairdress etc for him :tongue2:
