VU 10.0 Announced!
After almost two years after MindArk first announced that the Entropia Universe would be converted using the CryEngine2 graphics update, and six months since the last VU was brought to live servers, MindArk/FPC has announced that on August 17, the servers will come down for updating EU to VU 10.0. This has been a moment that many have been waiting patiently (and impatiently) for a long time.

The client loader will update EU to VU 10.0 on August 17; however if participants want to get a jumpstart on downloading the new client software, a torrent version will be available starting on August 14(though the client will not be usable until the August 17th VU 10.0 launch.)
While the release of VU 10.0 is designed to update graphics/avatars/hunting/etc., mini-updates are scheduled to follow once the main update is complete and stable.
While avatar appearances will change once again, CE2 has been implemented in such a way as to keep avatar looks as close as possible to how they appear now. Players will also be given the chance to change their avatars using the full array of modifications when first logging in to VU 10.0. Any changes afterwards will need to be done via beauty services. This option will be for existing accounts only, new participants who join after VU 10.0 is released will use the normal avatar design system.
Along with the release of VU 10.0, a “Second Golden Age of Calypso” will come, during which new and unique items that will never again be looted will be released, and no doubt will have a high value among those who get their hands on the new toys! Maybe even a few items from the first "golden age" will be possible...?
Obviously with a more advanced graphics engine in place, players will need to check their system specifications to get the most out of the new engine. You can check your current rig against the system requirements in the links below.
