hey no problemo wasn't having a go, just explaining it wasn't really a chip for the skills, more a chip for everyone else :D - the only reason you don't get more rep off me is coz i don't spread it quick enough.

Got some SS from chipping aim...

Quite interesting actually, is that aim seems to be the combatskill which affects your HA the least (Of thoose that affects it).....:scratch2:

feels like we're so close! But as we can see with all the red bits, there's a lot more work to do...

Would suggest adding attributes to the professions too, just for completeness.

So Intelligence to the crafting ones, Psyche to the MF ones, etc

When I was making the 2nd list, it was curious to see how close we are already on some of the professions, such as Pet Handler, 87% known and only 1 skill unconfirmed that is believed to impact that area. Suprisingly for me though was the Teleporter profession, only 76.25% known and I couldn't find any reference to other skills that effect it - could the rest really be Psyche ??

I'm told intuition for teleporter (and i think intelligence, but last time we tried to solve that one, calcs got screwed up for excluding bravado).

So, I've been proved wrong before - maybe some of the other general skills do. Courage? Serendipity? I don't think they do, but who knows?

Finally there are rumours (although I don't believe them), of further mindforce unlocks (and by rumours, I mean that time the guy cracked open the file, and found extra icons). So, potentially, there are some mods still to be unlocked.

We're close though :)
 
I'd bet on there being other Mindforce unlocks (irrespective of the Hactam thread). Other professions have mid-level unlocks like Wounding (level 45) and Kill Strike (level 80?). I'd imagine there's similar ones for Mindforce, does anyone have profession levels above 80 in anything MF? I can't see Pysche and Intelligence accouting for the remaining 24% but I could be wrong.

Nice to see some of the others filling up well too. Pet Handler I hadn't noticed we were so close! Animal Investigator I knew was at 87%. Anatomy, Computer shouldn't be too tough to get at some point. Xenobiology might be a bit harder ;) Also I suspect Scientist is missing from that list? And maybe Intelligence affects it?
 
From looking through the list, I think the following skills will be really interesting to see:

Anatomy
Courage
Serendipity

All seem to affect multiple professions (although probably only a little in each), but I think they hold the potential to offer a few surprises too.

Of those, the only one that's really feasible for me to chip would be Serendipity at 4.1k atm, the others are too high and would need big chips to make a noticable difference. I'll see if I can find a reasonable one on auction that'll give me a couple 100 levels.

Just occurred to me that the effect of Evade on Evader is known to be 25% so don't anyone chip that unless you were planning to anyway! Confirmation is more than welcome but I think its pretty well known so I'll add it to the list sometime.

Not sure whether these would be dmg or hit mods, but would assume hit
 
Thx for that Dale. I have added Agility and Intelligence to both (with ?? beside them for damage), until we can get a clearer picture.

Added Intelligence to the scanner professions - confirmed tonight it's gained in both animal and humanoid scanning, reasonable assumption it's also relevant for robot and mutant too.

Serendipity Results

OK here we go. These are what I think it comes out from the screenshots. Smallish skill gain, and fraps screenies (we had the problem earlier in the thread too, fraps doesn't take clean screenshots) means I might have got some 1% out - second opinions welcome. Also opinions from the people who've entered data on Serendipity for (Dmg) professions and Evader. My feeling was 4% for Evader but I wasn't sure so I went with 5% which seems pretty conclusive in jdegre's evader thread. I think its 4% for (Dmg) although wiki has 3%, can't find the thread for that so I've left it at 4%, opinions welcome. Definitely 1% for (Hit) which is what I expected from a recent run of the data on the old pro-standing thread.

Interesting, either a missing skill, or all the data (coincidently?) fits in a different distribution too. I wonder what other skill these % go to.

Seems to me that the chip results are more accurate then the calculations, so imo we should stick to those. The only thing i can think of is that the relation of skills to profession is not perfectly linear, and has some periodic function superpositioned on it (like a sine). In that case you can only get accurate results with large skill differences.

I think for now it is best to assume the results from this thread are the correct ones.
 
Yeah, that's possible, although my feeling is that its linear. If anyone chips some of the small ones we've already listed again we'll be able to confirm/deny that.
 
One question about the damage/hit calculations you did. Did you calculate them for all professions, and took the avarage? If so what is max deviation? (min and plus) Or did you just looked at a couple and assumed the rest it the same?
