Exactly, it's a game, they call it a game they advertise it (if advertising?) as a game and they treat the actual virtual universe as game world. And I think they will remind you it's a game if you have some problem here. They like everyone to say you "invest" but they don't have any investment agreement or call you the investor now do they?

I've known alot of player over the years, and I'd say 75% of them at least made and used a 2nd avatar.

Does anyone think it's quite possible the reason the rule exists is not so much for someone having one alt avatar that doesn't do much, but to give them the ability to ban people for abusing the second account by doing things like bidding on their own auctions, using the second account to harass people while your main account remains safe, and for cases of extreme abuse, someone creating 20-30 avatars to harass, scam, and generally make a nuisance of themselves?

not off topic at all. Having a rule that you don't enforce gives off the impression to the masses that they can get away breaking other rules... Not enforcing rules for all avatars shows that no matter how many times Marco says it, all avatars are not equal because some level of favoritism exists..

Showing to the world that you have some systems that remain broken for over a year that folks invested in just shows the world an incompetent startup company that no one should take seriously... and so the population of WoW continue to grows and the population of EU stagnates or shrinks - which is bad for the entire RCE.

I have a hope that they can turn things around, and I think a lot of other folks here do to, but only time will tell what will happen because EU is dynamic, sometimes, many times, too darn dynamic for its own good.

Of course there are obvious positive advantages to cheating and being in two places at once... which is why the cheaters take advantage of it, just like IRL there are advantages to speeding, killing, and breaking just about every other law that has ever existed... but that still doesn't make it right.

if I have two on calypso I get benefits of:
Double auction slots (no more pesky 30 auction limit)
I can always watch auctions and trading in twins even while I hunt
Can double-bid my own auctions
If I'm feeling frisky i can double-team mobs playing solo (i have a big desk...)
Double christmas/promo/other gifts from MA/FPC

If I add one to NI or Rocktropia though, I also get:
move goods between planets for only auction/transport fees
good interplanetary trading benefits of being active in two economies
possibly promo/holiday/other gifts from other planet partners too

Any other benefits I'm missing? Your thoughts?

Edit : oh yeah, double storage, too, forgot that.

Making rules for selective enforcement is a very vary bad. With no selection criteria published this is a door to trouble. It's certainly not a (serious) reason.

I don't know who you really are, but frankly, you knew where this thread would go before you signed up a new account and posted it, or you wouldn't have bothered.

It's no different than the old weekly threads about AC's before MA implemented the auto use tool.

And the situation hasn't changed.

“Officially” it's against the EULA, and TOS etc etc....but unless it causes a problem for MA no action will be taken.

It's wrong, it sucks in a game with an RCE...but it is what it is...it's mostly un-enforceable...and even when it's blatant MA look the other way...

So why start the thread other than to troll?

Knowing that some people have multiple avatars is ruining my gaming experience -- isn't that two strikes against the ToS/EULA?! :eyecrazy:

The only people allowed to have multiple avatars, if I remember correctly, are bank license owners. The extra avatars are supposed to be limited to managing the banks though, but it might explain why some people want to buy banks now, or maybe even why one bank never even operated! :smoke:

The thread was fun for a minute, some people were being creative, then the TOSbots arrived and next some whiners and then it went exactly where you say.

Post your address, maybe we can have a beer some time while we compare our personal protection devices. But be careful these days it's better to say "big-boned" or "fluffy" about that other situation....
