With the huge flow of new players I thought this might help a little.
 I haven't seen a similar thread yet so I went and took some screenshots of the basic commands (avy info, options, inv, etc.), and spliced them with extra details to show our new players what some of this stuff does.
I will upload my modified pics and explain what each window contains as I find time. Hope it helps our noobs work with things a little easier.

LINKS: Here are a few links to other noob guides that might come in handy. (some of these, plus a few other great ones, can be found on the home page uper left under guides)

HUD (heads up display)

Let's start with the hud, where most of your commands can be found:
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
I have labeled which button links to which info, and if they have a hotkey I listed that as well. On the zone indicator green means a safe zone, and it will change to flashing orange when in an unsafe zone (PvP).

Options

One of the most important items is the options window:
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
This is where you can set what keys do what, and the basics of volume/ screen resolution and such. You can also select which point of view and how your mouse functions here.

Avatar Info

The avatar info screen is where you can track your skills and other related stats:
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
You click the button for which area of skills you wish to see (attributes /general/etc.). you can also change your display name between full name, just nickname, and a few other combintations. The professional standings are based on you skills and will change as you gain in the skills related to each profession. Background and trivia can be filled out and set to display for other players to see. Disciples will pull up your mentor info, I will detail it in the next post.

Mentor Info

MentorInfo.gif

This will display if you have a mentor, and if you are able to kick them.
If you are a mentor your disciples will show up on the lower half as mine do.
The i displays which skills are required for graduation, and the lines link to a list of current disciples.

If you are interested in getting a mentor I do what I can and there are many on here who can help. You may want to look into The School of Lootius: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8050

Want to become a mentor, or know what to look for in one? Check out Skyrider's mentoring guide: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1853

Graduation Skills

By clicking on the i in the mentor window you can view the skills to graduare:
DiscipleGradSkill.gif

This has been asked many times, so here they are. Keep in mind only one of these skills at the stated level is required to graduate.

Inventory

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
This is where you can equip and/or use items you carry. The tabs on the right are used to change what set of items you can select from your avatar.
For instance if you wish to remove your clothing, click the right clothes tab then click the item on your avatar and drag to the empty window on the left to remove, or go to used for weapon and armor removal. You can equip weapons, armor, tools, etc. by clicking on the tab for them, then drag the item to your avatar. Weight is how heavy your items are, if you carry too much it will slow you down. Count is, of course, how many items you have on you at the time. Balance is your ingame money.

Action Library & QuickBar

actionbook.gif

The action library has a large list of interactions you can do with other players, and quick commands for yourself. The quickbar above it is usually in the upper left of the screen. It can hold these commands, and also weapons/tools for easy use. You drag the desired command or item to the numbered slot you want to use, then when you hit that number it autoequips or uses the command listed. There are several pages to this, so you can change them with the arrows or the F1-F9 keys, this allows you to setup multiple quick-keys for use in varried situations. Interaction is for other players or items you find ingame, as well as the newly added taming. Misc holds autorun and other useful commands. Emotes are where you will find poses and my favorite the dances. Pet contains the new list of pet commands for an animal you have tamed.
There are two ways you can setup the quickbar for use: Original settings use the numbers 1 though 0(10) plus the -(11) and =(12) keys to activate, and F1-F9 to change lists. You can also hit the f button on the bar to change to using 1-9 to change lists and F1-F12 to activate that slot.
If you hit the curved arrow button, it will move the quickbar from the left-right top view, to an up-down side view on the left of screen. You can also click on the bar itself and move it around if you like.

Friends List

friendslist.gif

This is where you can interact with other players you have added to your list (FL). You can send messages to online friends, or see which friends are on.
To add a friend you need to target the player and hit the add to friends command from the action library, you can also rightclick your mouse on them and look for the add command in the list that pops up there. (see page 3 for this) When in your friends list window, you can either right click to bring up the list as shown or double click a name to send a message.

Radars

radar.gif

There are two ways you can use your radar, it sits to the right of the command buttons on the HUD. You can use the rotation mode(left), where it rotates to show the direction you are facing/moving. You can also hit the toggle radar button to switch to viewpoint(right), where it gives the target area you see but the directions stay in place.
Note: The dots that appear on your radar can help you navigate from place to place or person to person more easily. Green dots are other players, red are enemies, yellow are team members, pink for society members, and blue are NPC's such as the auctioneer.

Terminals

Terminals.gif

These are the basic terminals you will see throughout the game. Repair is for item repair, items decay as they are used and need regular maintenance, but there are limited items that can not be repaired (usually marked with a (L) after item name). The trade terminals (often refered to as just TT), are where you can buy the basic weapons, armor, and tools, plus ammo and other basic items you will need. The revival terminal is where you will revive to if you are killed, you should go to the nearest one to where you died at. The society terminal is for finding and interacting with or even creating a society, I recommend finding a good one to help you get started before creating one of your own.

Here is a link to a list of TT items and where to find them. Thanks to ViagraFalls for this one, it's worth reading.

Storage Units

storage.gif

There are stoarge units ingame that you can use at no cost. They can hold up to 100 items, and make it easier than having to carry all the stuff you aren't using to reduce weight and increase movement. You can find them in most of the larger towns near the mobile service centers.
Once inside the storage menu, you can drag an item from inventory to storage, or from storage to inventory to use.

Teleporters

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
This is what the two types of teleporters I have ran into ingame look like. When exploring it is important to walk up to them and activate them so that you can use them later on. The left is one on Amethera, and the right is the one found on the main continent of Eudoria. Most people ingame will use the term TP for teleporter.
Someone brought to my attention that the Zychion TP is different from the others so here it is. Thanks for pointing this out.

Using a teleporter

useTP.gif

First you must step into the teleporter (the gold or blue areas inside them) to activate it, then it will pull up this map window with a list of where you can teleport to. You can close it if you step in by mistake by clicking the x (marked yellow). You chose the destination by either clicking the little blue dot on the map, or the name on the list to the left. Then you activate by clicking the teleport button (marked purple). You can zoom in or out of the map for a better view using the zoom buttons (marked red). If you are on one continent and wish to go to the other click the change button (marked black).

Fighting

If you wish to do a little hunting you will need a weapon and armor, and know what to fight. You can check Franck's Mob chart, https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1852, to find something you can handle and where to find it.
Also you can check http://eudoria-geography.barrabas.org/index.php, it has a nice map system that allows you to search for just about anything on the mainland, including a detailed map of where to find creatures.
Also check; Franck's Armor chart: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1067
And; Sarah's Weapon chart: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8416

EDIT: added some pics and a walkthrough for basic hunting.

How many of these am I allowed to hand out rep for? Excellent work.

You can +rep any given post once, but you have to "spread it around" as it always tells me, before giving to the same person again. Thanks for the support.

NOTE: I will try to come up with a list of unlockable skills and how to obtain them. Also I plan to try and figure out which skills are key to each profession so everyone can work up their standings easier. I will add what I can as soon as I get it.

Nice One!!

A few things in there that I didn't know bout.

Chat Window

A few things I forgot so thought I'd add them real fast: Chat/ and teams.
chat_763169.gif

The basic chat window is the All tab, this shows all that is said within range of your radar (if you see the green dots on radar you can see what they say), and any skills you gain, damage you do or take, healing, and of course the coveted globals and HoF's. Events is supposed to show game events, but I have never seen anything in it. Chat only shows what is being said near you. Society shows what is said by your society members, this can be used to chat with any society member wherever they are in the game. Team is used when in a team so that only your team members can see what is said, it also shows when a member dies or revives, and any items that the team loots.
Note: Normal chat is white, society is a dark blue, team is light blue, globals and HoF are the purple. And if you have not already seen them, dark green is experience gain in a skill where light green is gaining a new rank in a skill.
EDIT: Thanks to FlameDancer for pointing this out to me. There are also system messages in red that tell if the server will be shutting down and how long you have to log off.

OK had to add this to my chat window. Here is a list of commands you can use in chat to speed things up:
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
Saves you from having to hit the tab to change between windows everytime, helps me a ton. And if you want to save time with the action book you can just type your emotes into the chat as well.

Team Creation

teamcreation.GIF

This is where you can set the options for your team. To create a team, you look under the action library(x) under the misc. tab. Invite and kick are under the interaction tab. You can see what damage decides gives, leader takes all is just as it says, most damage wins all gives loot just like normal fighting, queue goes down the team member list in order 1-? then back to 1 when giveing out items, and random of course is just that. For money damage is shown, and equal shares evenly with all members.
When you have named and set the options for your team click the create button and it will start up the team, then you need to find members. This is where the invite comes in to play. And if someone in the team causes problems or such you have the boot command. On a side note, as you can see in my chat window, if you are alone in a team you will get no loot, so disband the team if this happens. I will explain this in next post.

Team Commands and Member List

team.GIF

If you click on one of the labled tabs it will give a team message for easy use.
If you join a team and wish to view the loot/money split you can use the create team command to list this. When leaving, or disbanding, a team just click on the X in the upper right corner. A member will leave the team when this is done, and if the leader does it, the entire team is disbanded. Team members will be listed under this command box. There will be a name with a health bar just like that shown in the HUD. This helps track who needs healing and such, also you can just click on the name in the list to target that member for any skills you wish to use on them (say a nice heal).

Item Stats

I have seen a few people ask how this works, so I will try to explain as best I can.
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
Skill progress is how skilled you are in the use of the item, or how close your skills are to being proficient in it's use. Skill increase bonus is if the item helps boost in skill gain. If it has a yes it gives a small boost, not yet means you are not skilled enough to get the bonus, never means it will not have bonus at all, and I think there is another for after you surpass the skill levels for it where it no longer gives a bonus. Of course the condition is how much repair the items has or needs. Durability tells you an average you can expect the item to decay during use. Attacks/min is an average of how fast the item can be used (weapons of course), I prefer to look at the damage interval for this. Damage impact/electric/etc. tells you what type and how much damage is possible from the weapon. Note that it will not always do this damage, some times will be higher others lower, this is just an average. It also depends on the defence of what you are fighting. Range is how far you can reach with the item, notice the power fist has much shorter than an axe, and guns varry widely. The hit ability and critical ability are your basic chances of missing or hitting with that weapon.

I do not currently own any mining equipment so no screenshots, but the basics on them is range and depth. Range is how far out they will search and depth is how far into the ground. In most of these items I have seen that higher skills will increase the stats. Also note that if you wish to use a mindforce chip, you will need a NeoPsion implant that supports it's level. So far I have seen level 1-8 chips, and many implants for them. I will try to get some good shots of them later. If you hit the info tab on an item it will tell you the current TT value, and what the item is meant for. This is also where you will find the levels a mindforce implant can use for chips.

EDIT: added some mining shots and a walkthrough.

Mindforce Implant

As promised here is the starter implant for mindforce use:
mindforceimplant.gif

Note the minimum and maximum chip levels. You will need to make sure any implant you buy supports all the levels of chips you use, you can only have one inserted at a time. As stated in the previous post you can click the info tab on the item to see what levels it supports. In order to use the implant, you must get an implant inserter.
surgicaltools.gif

Go into the tools in TT and look for surgical, the Payn-Inc Implant Inserter is what I use to implant these and skill chips. I suggest waiting a while before investing in any skills. Also you can not use skill implants if you are under discipleship.

If you are interested in using mindforce I suggest you read Franck's guide: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2013

Map Downloads

Ok I can't remember which thread I found the map links in so I uploaded them for easy download from here.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8958I9O3 -main continent
and,
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T3JOGMAL -for Amethera
(I added 2 TP that where not on my map, northeast and southwest of the first on Treasure Island)
They are older maps but worked well for me on my explorations. Missing a few of the estates on mainland, and a few land areas on Amethera, but still good. Hope they help.
Edit: sorry bout that must not have coppied the second link as I thought, this should do it. Thanks for pointing it out Bragi.

EDIT: had to update the amethera map, got zapped from inactivity.
-ahh here we go, better links:
http://www.entropedia.com/img/pe-calypso-60.jpg
http://www.entropedia.com/img/pe-amethera-60.jpg
(the official ones I used, but mine should still work ;) )

To use the interactions you must first target the player (left click just like when selecting a mob for sweating).
