2 pecs thinking

i see more and more people who give a "thinking" that worth 2 pecs.
why the hell they dont go sweat some and take time to think so they can com back with a "thinking" that worth little more ? (dream that 1 ped thinking apear one day
).
is it a new fashion to throw away the first cheap "thinking" you got ?
is "thinking" become a luxe and people prefert spend their money in something more "tangible".
maybe its matter of time ...?

I kinda noticed that nowadays more and more ppl choose to act quickly with no appearance of documented opinons....it's more like...hmmm....here ya go, in your face!

Speaking for myslef, I like to believe that I think twice, even more than that, when I choose to post something...well, sometimes, and only sometimes () I get a bit influenced by some other factors like the lack of coffee in the morning or the presence of some alchool in my bloodstream


And that's my for the day. I hope my above comment will worth 2 cents exactly. Not more and not less

I read somewhere that it originated from the fact that it used to cost 2 cents to send a letter by mail in the U.S. Thus costing 2 cents to send someone your thoughts

I could be wrong though, and i could be "thinking" far too much (sorry ETOPIA)

I think you're saying that when someone posts his/her 2 PECs thoughts that's even less then the 2 cents from the saying.
EF is cheap I think.

I think he's trying to say that people should think more before posting something.

If you posts thaughts worth 2 pec, it means they aren't worth alot so you should think more so you get good ('expensive') thaughts

I know this thread is really old and you may think i am necroposting, and i'm sorry, but i guess the entropians needs to know why of the expression.

Ok i never heard to be a old american saying, i may believe that, but it's much older than that.

whenever i saw that expression of my two pecs it always reminded of something.

ok gonna explain real fast, once Jesus was in the temple (the Jewish one) observing the people making donations, there were many that donated large sums of money, but Jesus didn't care much because it was their remains, but then apeared a poor widow that donated only two little copper coins, basically all her money. When Jesus observed that, he said that what she done has much more value than all the richie guys donations, because she donated all her mean of live, while the others donated their remains (and those remains were a lot of money BTW).

here's the bible quote if u like (it's Luke 21:1-4)

"1.Now as he looked up he saw the rich dropping their gifts into the treasury chests. 2. Then he saw a certain needy widow drop two small coins of very little value there, 3. and he said: “I tell YOU truthfully, This widow, although poor, dropped in more than they all did. 4. For all these dropped in gifts out of their surplus, but this [woman] out of her want dropped in all the means of living she had.” " NW

Now derived from that happening, many expressions were coined with a slight diffrent meaning, like the american/british one (see here) that meant a humble opinion (i.e. IMHO). but that expression derives from that happening in the temple.

Ok i guess this the explanation of the my two pecs thingie

(i hope no one minds the biblical explanation here,there's nothing polemical, just a porvable historic fact. and i sorry again the necroposting, but i really wanted to explain why the expression)
